I gotta say, the destroyed prison surface set, while really well done, it DID look like a set, mostly because the wide shots mostly showed the low wall with the green screen fog composited in, which wasn't necessary, because when the wide shots faced the high wall and barely showed the landscape, it looked so much more realistic. I've read some criticism of the weekly episode release. I LOVE IT!!! It harkens back to episodic network television. In addition, I have the opportunity to review previous episodes to lock in my understanding of the complex story arcs. To see "Amos" throttled by Boomer was a hoot! I'm a baby boomer. At a time when there was one tv in four households, I had my own tv because my father built one for me from spare parts. I grew up on sci-fi horror movies, Star Trek, I saw Star Wars when it was released; I am that old! The Expanse has reset the bar on what quality television and science fiction should be. I eagerly await each episode, and in the interim I review previous episodes. Too much fun! Thanks to the production team and actors!
Thanks for putting together these debrief sessions, it really adds depth, richness, and appreciation for the show and the work of the whole crew. I didn’t read the books (yet) so I can enjoy the incredible creativity, hard work, and science put into bringing life to these episodes. Keep up the great work guys. BTW, when are you publishing Wes’s training workout?
I can't believe how much Filip looks like Naomi. When I saw the thumbnail, I thought it was her. My first thought was, "Wow, Naomi looks kind of masculine in that picture." Perfect casting!
I find it so funny that Amos is the Host/lead interwiewer! He seems have real fun doing it and a very nice host! The cast of Naomi's son is really good and its true they look like a lot, like he is is real son or his little brother. The actor did a great job also.
Again, with every new season, with every new episode this show continuously displays an embarrassment of riches with regards to the talent in front of and behind the camera. For Jasai to be a new upcoming actor his on screen presence and abilities are top notch. Whoever's in charge of casting for The Expanse deserves their flowers!
Thanks for the commentary on one of my favorite shows. I love hearing about the creative process and what you as actors bring to the role. I always look forward to hearing your insights and others great back and forth on the goings on.
Not to give spoilers, but the way Philip decides his path in the books resonates in the discussion @ min 13. Hoping that the show follows this as much as it can. It was one of the story arcs in books 5 & 6 that was so well done.
This is so much fun! Thank you for doing this. It really helps to hear from the actors and of course Ty and the directors after so much emotion expressed in each episode!

Jasai looks sooooo much like the actress that plays Naomi!! Hot Filip is hot like his mom! Thanks for that tidbit about how dumping core works, Ty. So yoi dont actually dump all the core material, just the reactive substance thats on the magnetic bottle at the moment.
Yeah, I'm used to the Star Trek approach - when they dump the core, you have to go recover it. And if it gets blown up, you're just S.O.L. (or more likely D.E.D.) I would've been confused if I hadn't watched this video.
I haven't seen anyone talk about this scene but season 5 episode 1 when Filip, Karal, and Cyn take the science station. They climb out the airlock and as Filip emerges he plants the bomb then takes a glance at Venus and smiles as the camera zooms out. I got chills watching that.
This episode was so exciting. The prison scenes were really scary. Can't wait until next week. This episode was a little shorter, I hated for it to end.
Did Ty just throw shade on Cas Anvar? "Shut up and read the dialog I wrote" as opposed to Cas's planning of his 'ad libs' that he admitted to in a behind the scenes promo for last season. Edit: It was the double up day video for season 3.

Jasai plays Filip so well!
I can't believe how much Filip looks like Naomi. When I saw the thumbnail, I thought it was her. My first thought was, "Wow, Naomi looks kind of masculine in that picture." Perfect casting!
Jasai is an amazing addition to the cast. Filip is a really difficult character to do right, and so far he's perfect.
Wes Chatham....you are the bomb! In my mind, you have become the one character that anchors the Roci crew! You have really done the writers proud.
There hasn't been a single episode that I didnt like. Good stuff.
I wish we could at least get 8 seasons.
What a sweet story about Dominique Tipper! He sounds so young here, gosh, but what a terrific casting job!
This is so much fun! Thank you for doing this. It really helps to hear from the actors and of course Ty and the directors after so much emotion expressed in each episode!
Love the show & great chat on episode 505. You can tell you have a great crew & cast!!
I legit had to double take on the thumbnail because Jasai looks so much like Dominque's son.
Wes Chatham always seems so happy
He lives his job.... A LOT!
Probably my favorite episode of the season.
Thanks Wes and Ty!
HEY Jeff!!
I'm a big fan, even before The Expanse!!
You're not a big fan. You're THE fan.
@@sleezie100 Woolnough's only fan?
@@lightemam Haha no. I misread at first that she is a big fan of the Expanse. I remember her vividly from when the show was cancelled , waiting for a new home. She was EVERYWHERE! Hence, THE fan! :)
Jasai is the perfect casting ! He was a star this episode!
The Expanse is the best Hard Scfi show in the world ! For example that Fusion example!
An intense episode!!!! Amos was the MVP all the way fighting Tiny!!! Naomi was brilliant and saved Holden!
I won't watch it now, but I came here anyways to hit the like and comment.
I'll be back when I watch the episode. 💋
love the podcast love the show keep up the great work
These episodes are fire. Thank you 🙏.
The best show on prime!
Another great episode, and I'm loving these aftershows and meeting the cast and crew.
Goddess bless the writer who wrote the scene that Amos had to strip in this season. That was so needed right about now. 😍😄 Jasai is a brilliant actor. Such an amazing addition to this incredible cast. Also he looks Exactly like a cross between his gorgeous on set parents. Great casting on that!
It is interesting that the first scene Jasai filmed was on his birthday… The first time we meet Philip in Nemesis Games it is also his 15th birthday
Jasai looks sooooo much like the actress that plays Naomi!! Hot Filip is hot like his mom!
Thanks for that tidbit about how dumping core works, Ty. So yoi dont actually dump all the core material, just the reactive substance thats on the magnetic bottle at the moment.
Yeah, people might have missed that in the episode. +-----------------
Yeah, I'm used to the Star Trek approach - when they dump the core, you have to go recover it. And if it gets blown up, you're just S.O.L. (or more likely D.E.D.) I would've been confused if I hadn't watched this video.

I did. I thought Alex and Bobbie were dooooomed.
Except for the inevitable Deus ex Machina.
I haven't seen anyone talk about this scene but season 5 episode 1 when Filip, Karal, and Cyn take the science station. They climb out the airlock and as Filip emerges he plants the bomb then takes a glance at Venus and smiles as the camera zooms out. I got chills watching that.
So long, Tiny. We hardly knew ya.
This episode was so exciting. The prison scenes were really scary. Can't wait until next week. This episode was a little shorter, I hated for it to end.
Shoutout to the VFX team on that Razorback escape scene.
Man. Hearing that Ty won't get to be on set for S6 is 😔 😢 😭
Love Wes Chatham 💙
Jasai looks like Dominique litlle brother or son, they look simillar
Right. Its crazy. Kids from NY and Dom is from Britain and they got the same face. 😂🤣
They both biracial lol
Ty and That Guy series is Awesome- Keep it up and Keep it going..
Did Ty just throw shade on Cas Anvar?
"Shut up and read the dialog I wrote" as opposed to Cas's planning of his 'ad libs' that he admitted to in a behind the scenes promo for last season.
Edit: It was the double up day video for season 3.
