  • Small details that add up to big performance. See what goes into making the best Street Rod Cylinder Heads on the market.
    OUR STORY, A MUST READ!
I'm sure many of you have noticed there are 2 high performance engine builders in Kingsport, TN with similar names, and this has led to a great amount of confusion.
We are Skip White Performance, NOT White Performance and Machine.
Many customers looking for us online inadvertently find them, thinking we are the same company. Definitely not...there is no connection between the two companies. We don't have a problem with free enterprise (competition). However, when the competition builds their foundation on such things as a name similarity and their supposedly long history of being in business, then we think it's about time we set the record straight.
We have owned White Performance since 2003, with the exception of the machine shop, which was owned by Fred White at the time. He continued to operate the machine shop and build engines for us while we continued selling online under the eBay user ID of skipwhite and the eBay store name of whiteperformance1.
Due to their limited production capability and many disagreements about the engine building process and workmanship, we opted to open a full scale machine shop of our own. Fred White began competing against us even though our contract had a no compete clause in it. Fred White sold his machine shop in 2016.
As our business grew we opened a second, much larger warehouse around 2011, located on Brookside Ln. in Kingsport. At this point we were well established as the number one street rod engine building in the nation. Due to the name similarity many people looking for us mistakenly contacted Fred's shop. The problem continues to this day and the new owners of Fred's shop reap the benefits from this confusion between the two shops. Fortunately we stay plenty busy throughout the year, but a new problem has came up. Were getting calls nearly on a daily basis from people that realize there are two shops in this town with very similar names and complain of serious problems in getting their engine in a timely manner. They think they purchased their engine from us. Due to the confusion there is an increasing amount of negative talk that is starting to reflect on our reputation within the street rod community, when in fact we have a near perfect reputation in this industry.
All in all, we have been in this business 16 years. By putting heart and soul in this company, we have become the number one street rod engine builder in the country. Skip White's passion has been owning and building street rods for 47 years on a personal level. The knowledge he has gained over time has allowed him to venture into this business and succeed to a very high level.
Fred White sold the machine shop to an investor in early 2016. This investor lacks any knowledge of this industry. They continue to use the White Performance & Machine name. Contrary to what is posted on their website, Fred White is no longer associated with the company in any way. Their main spiel in advertising is,"In business since 1979," when in fact, we purchased the White Performance company in 2003, with the exception of the machine shop. The great pretenders continue capitalizing from our success, but as mentioned have been degrading our reputation.
FAST FORWARD TO 2019...We have become the largest street rod engine builder in the nation. Our engines, rotating assemblies, and cylinder heads are built to very high standards and shipped to our customers in a timely manner. We are a premier seller on eBay with a positive feedback score of well over 200,000 as compared to our competitor’s score of 24k.
Our engines are custom-built to our customers' specifications and are shipped, in general, in 2-6 weeks, perhaps sooner, depending on season. Our rotating assemblies ship out in about one week, and our heads ship in about a week or less.
Our website is skipwhiteperformance.com. We invite you to check it out, along with our eBay store, whiteperformance1. Our phone number is 423-722-5152

Scrupulous detail to cleanliness is a key componet in the quality of a build, it's not all componets & parameters. Enjoy all the SWP videos, Impressive. Alloys are so much inproved in todays age of metallurgy, we all benefit from the improve componet quality. 50 years ago... sot so much when some were stuck running parts bad as cast Pontiac rods.

I had these guys build 421ci sbc motor for me & shipped it to Australia. After a long boat ride (not their fault) to Australia I received the motor on the stand with all the parts I ordered in the crate. My pickup is at the panel shop being sprayed otherwise it would’ve been sitting between the front fenders by now, I can’t wait to actually get it in & drive it. If it goes as good as it looks I’m home & hosed! I dealt with Big Mike who was more than knowledgeable & very helpful.
All the best guys & stay safe in your part of the world.
    Cheers😊

I just reworked a set of Skip White NBK 210cc SBF cylinder heads and very little clean up on the castings. I install the cylinder heads on the motor and did the layout for gasket matching the intake to cylinder head gasket matching and everything lined up pretty close as far as short and long radius’s. 418-W with hydraulic roller cam, flat top forged pistons, 4.10 gears, E85 N/A went high 10’s. Great cylinder heads for a budget build.

Can't wait until my heads are here I ordered a set of KNB-274 with 7/16 ARP studs and guide plates for my 93 Cadillac Hearse with a 350 TBI engine and doing the TBI to carb setup with roller cam and rocker's headders ect.. I'm not going to drag race it or anything just use it for a daily driver my car would be lucky to see anything over 4500 rpm lol they said it should be fine with my setup still cheaper than having my factory cracked heads go to a machine shop to get fixed and a big improvement compared to a 193 swirl port.

Are the 919 Bravos Chinese? I just ordered a set and feel the parts that are put in them are what make them a great head. I've compared from blueprint to brodix to afr and feel these guys put the most effort in to give a top notch product at an affordable price. Hope I'm not wrong.

@@tomtran4431 so you didn't use these heads lol, that crap you get on eBay aren't the same as these. These actually get the work done to them and get good parts put in. The ebay crap use cheap parts as well and with cheap quick head work.
