Yes where I lost I went through menopause. That was crap. Nobody told me what was gonna happen. There’s no instruction manual. I remember being so stressed and working and eating everything under God‘s green earth and finally had to go get some primer because I still had to work, but I couldn’t sleep and with not sleeping on the stress and I brought myself to emergency room one night thought it was having a heart attack trying to take care of my daughter. I was a little crazy girl, so I understand completely. It’s a struggle but once you get through it done, it’s only a one time thing we’re not gonna do that again, here’s love to you and your family. I hope you got through it doing OK stay the course love from South Dakota.

If you are struggling with Thyroid watch the video with Dr. Ken Berry and Dr. Brownstein. It is fascinating. They talk about Iodine and the Thyroid. There is a free Audible book called the Iodine Crises that Brownstein wrote the foreward to. I think it teaches a full nutritional protocol for aiding iodine supplementation. Brownstein also has a few books about Iodine, Thyroid and Adrenals.

I have lost 9 pounds total. From 134 to 125. I am 5’3”. I fast 18 hours daily. And watch my calories. I know the carnivore people mostly don’t watch calories. I do not lose weight unless I limit calorie intake. I strive for 1800 calories - no more. I don’t drink anything but salt water, lemon salt water. One day a week I have coffee with heavy whipping cream and salt. Just once a week. Otherwise I gain weight. I do not eat a lot of butter. Just a couple of tbsps a day in the pan to make eggs.
      I’m stalled at 125.

LESSONS LEARNED ABOUT WEIGHTLOSS on carnivore -> I’ve learned two weeks into carnivore that to lose weight you do NOT and should not cook your food in extra fat or feel the need to add extra fat to your meals. Cooking the meat in its own juices and fats is enough. Eating eggs with a pad of butter incorporated into the eggs is enough. 3 of my family members started this carnivore all at once eating the same meals. It was me (I want to lose 10 pounds), my daughter (teen needs to lose 15 pounds ) and my significant other (needs to lose 75-80 pounds). My teen daughter lost weight 2.4 pounds in a week of starting the diet. She has had significant issues with weight and even though it sounds like it’s not a lot of weight for her to lose, without going into it here, it is, and she has gone up and down doing various vegan and vegetarian options. But while I was cooking for her and my Sig Other and myself she lost the 2.4 pounds. Then she moved to school and began gaining weight. While trouble shooting to see what she was doing wrong we finally figured out that she was adding butter bombs and eating pork belly to increase her fat intake. Back home we were consistently losing a pound a day eating simple beef with eggs (a pad of butter added to the eggs) and for me a small amount of ketchup). Now that we figured out my daughter’s weight gain on carnivore was due to increasing butter and fat, mainly butter, she stopped doing that and started eating the way I made her meals at home and the weight is now coming off again. So, guys, 3 different people at different ages and different weights and weight goals and we have discovered the significance of not adding significant extra fat or any fat at all other than the fat in the food to the meals. There’s NO need. Be aware of listening to influencers that tell you to increase fats. It can significantly stall your weightloss. And it can increase your weight as it did to my daughter. Take my experience as an example. My family is literally a case study in this diet at an early stage. Two weeks ago.

Thank you for this. I started carnivore about 4 weeks ago and have not lost anything. I was carb cycling before starting carnivore and had lost 38lbs doing that. I have actually gained 3lbs since starting carnivore. I am eating pork belly and adding butter and extra bacon grease to things. I am going to stop doing that now and see if that will help move the scale. I already walk literally all day at work. I fulfill online grocery orders in a supercenter so I am walking and lifting heavy totes 8 hours a day 5 days a week so plenty of movement lol

I get your point and this is all well and good...HOWEVER, if you are terribly constipated, the remedy (according to Dr. Ken Berry and Dr. Anthony Chaffee on here) is to EAT MORE BUTTER (OR MORE FATTY MEATS). I literally cannot STAND fatty meat, it makes me feel like throwing up, so my only alternative to prevent HORRIBLE CONSTIPATION is to add more butter.

Then I had both knees replaced at the same time and, of course, suffered significant physical trauma. Six weeks later, I haven’t lost any more weight, but I know my body is having to heal. @daughter_of_Yahuah Fasting, yes. I do a 36-hour fast 2 or 3 times a month. I'm not big on butter, but when I fry in lard or tallow, I pour the whole contents of the pan onto the plate. I don't count macros, but I eat a lot of eggs and a lot of oily fish. Also, a lot of chicken thighs and drumsticks - not the lean breast meat. You can find my story on an interview I did with CARNIVORE SOLDIER. Episode 1 of his series MISSION CARNIVORE. I give Kelly a big mention on that. Kelly started out eating low fat meat but found a site in 2009, which got her to give up diet soda and start eating fatty meat. That story can be found on Ken Berry's channel. "Woman only eats meat for 13 years. Thanks for the good question.🙂

YES people need to hear it! My goodness, so many people don't share their stories until after all their weight is gone, & very rarely mention whether it took months or a couple years, or even MANY years to get where they are now. It's been super frustrating for many of us, to say the least.
I started keto 4 yrs ago, lost 10 lbs, carnivore over 2 yrs ago, & I lost ZERO weight for the past 2 yrs, until these past couple months. no medical dignosis of any kind, though we all know there's plenty of unseen healing to do after coming off of standard- or even keto, for some- way of eating. I was SO discouraged, even though yes, I had all the other amazing benefits~ which is what kept me going. I was also transitioning through menopause during this time, no HRT. Finally, about 10 wks ago, the scale started moving & I've since dropped almost 30 lbs! I'm so truly grateful that the weight loss is finally happening, seriously thrilled. I only wish I'd heard more from others about those of us who are not "those super quick success stories"~ as I believe there are many of us. I don't know why people don't care to mention those particular details, but hopefully that will change. Maybe some think it might discourage others, but I feel the opposite is more likely~ women will worry less & enjoy the time more, imho!
I make a point of talking about my own experience with carnivore because I can't stand the thought of others struggling & fearing that something is horribly wrong with them~ like I did! Not sure exactly where my weight will "settle", but in my mind I only have another 10-15 lbs to lose to put me in a happy place. Btw, I'm 57 yrs old, 5'7" tall, & today weigh 165 lbs. *Highest was 207, started carnivore 2 yrs back @196lbs. Also, my husband lost nearly all he wanted to in the first couple months 2 yrs ago~ over 60lbs! So that really messed w/my head, though I was thrilled for him of course.
🎯Main takeaway; Do not give up, do not give in, & do not give too much attention to time.
You will have healing, you will have joy, & you absolutely will lose weight....AND continue to feel AMAZING along the way. You are worth it, & so is the time you are investing! 🎯~Sammy in NV

I’m a 54 yr old 5’8” woman , I started Keto Jan. 31, 2021 at 263lbs and lost 80lbs in 6 months which was amazing, but the gut issues, severe constipation and terrible leg and foot cramps were all a constant problem. Then I found out a friend of mine had beat cancer and went thru chemo like a champ while utilizing the carnivore diet. As I was also looking to help my husband deal with the extremely painful flare ups of diverticulitis and the removal of a large portion of his colon I Dr. Baker’s videos in my desperate search to help him stop the damage, which led me to the carnivore community and I started to eliminate the fruits and veggies and grains and toxic seed oils and all the Keto recreations that kept me a prisoner of my food addiction. I did gain 20lbs back, I was ravenously hungry and allowed myself to eat all the meat and dairy I wanted. Two years into 95% carnivore and I’m still stalled at 200lbs and battling the dairy. I had back surgery in January 2023 so my movement limited but I’m now able to add more movement which I’m sure will be helpful in my fat loss starting up again.

You can get a free maro appt or a scale that can tell you the weight, then Google it, like how much protein is in a 5 ounce steak? It will tell you.

BTW, it's not a stall when you lose 5". Just because you didn't lose weight you lost fat. I guarantee if you went up to anyone who is overweight and struggling, meaning they want to lose weight but can't, and told them I'll tell you what. I can guarantee that you can drop 10 pants/dress sizes in the next year if you do these 2 things, go carnivore and throw away your scale they would do it. I had a conversation with a girl at work once because I had gone low carb and lost like 40 pounds and she asked me how I did it. I explained it and she just couldn't get it. So I said look, you are so worried about your weight, and I get that but what if I said you could lose 4 pants sizes but you would gain 20 pounds, would you care how much you weigh? She just looked at me for like 30 seconds and finally said, no. I haven't had a scale in like 15 years.

I think people over 50 and 60 need to realize that after so many years of abusing their bodies with carbs, sugars, and starches you will have to be more patient and more consistent longer than say a 20 or 30-year-old who has had far less time to abuse their bodies... I lost 35 lbs in the first 6 months, then stalled out and was getting discouraged until I realized that I started at 76... I am still on it without compromise and as I hear this message I now have renewed hope that it will work out for me if I stay patient, consistent, and maintain hope... yours and along with Dr. Berry's are the first videos that directed me to this carnivore path and I greatly appreciate both of your content... keep up the fabulous work to help others on their path to health.

This was awesome to listen to. It just gives a person hope. Not that I feel hopeless, lol. I just had my one year carniversary 2 days ago. I have only lost about 15 lbs, still have at least 60, 70, or even 80 lbs to lose (I have zero idea what my ideal weight should, or could, be). I did start carnivore hoping to lose weight, but I am staying carnivore for the mental health it has brought me. I was living with depression and severe anxiety doused with panic attacks, some of which were so severe I ended up in emergency thinking I was dying, only to hear, "You were just having a panic attack". Not a fun place to be. Anyhow, 1 year carnivore and my anxiety is gone. It's just...gone! If I never lose another pound, I will still never go back to the way I used to eat. I far prefer to feel the peace and the calmness that is inside me now instead of the panic and anxiety and stress I was living every single day.

This is a PERFECT message, absolutely perfect. I'm almost 67. I have been at a plateau for almost 2 years and suddenly lost 2 lbs. I think it's because I backed off heavy cream though I had very little of it in the first place, 3 teaspoons in my one hot cup of coffee in the a.m. but for my second cup, I've been refrigerating it and having it iced later with 1 teaspoon so that's what I mean by reducing cream. I keep hoping I can break the habit, though I detest black coffee and won't have it at all if I can't have stevia and a tiny bit of cream. I have very little cheese, just a sprinkle a bit on my eggs-we have our own chickens and have for 19 years- but mostly, it's grass fed local beef, eggs, butter, some pork, rarely chicken. My sleep is still an issue, but I've lost inches when the weight wasn't coming off and never have my 2x annual horrid migraines. I had to buy smaller clothes, oh the horror, LOL. My husband has lost some bulk in his midsection, had lost 30 lbs, then started to gain, but he is an emotional eater and says he's bored with meat. He used to love meat when it was part of his bad diet and now, we just picked up another 1/2 cow, filled the freezer so he'd better not go back to that way of eating! He's developed chronic headaches, but I am sure it's from his spine-he's a disabled veteran and I know my husband is under all that bloat an inflammation. He needs to lose almost 100 lbs, I think. I had a horrible accident in Oct 2021 when we were cutting down a tree. It went rogue, the butt end came up, scraped over the top of my head, fell on my right shoulder pushing me straight down at first, causing a clean break across my left leg below the knee and ultimately throwing me onto my back. I was already carnivore, didn't even pull a muscle when that happened, but the recovery from the break and surgery, being in bed and then in a wheelchair, I did not gain any weight back. That was almost 2 years ago. I guess I've been mostly carnivore for the past two years, more precisely before this last year, I guess I was ketovore. I'm rarely hungry, never struggle with my weight now. Kathie is fabulous! People need this message more than ever! Thanks again, Kelly. ~Cynthia

That is probably a benefit from carnivore that is not often discussed, the faster healing from injuries. Thank you! All prayers gratefully accepted! ~Cynthia

I also hate black coffee and couldn't imagine giving up my heavy cream. Then I saw a comment under a video (you can learn a lot from the comments!) where someone said they put their coffee in a blender with a chunk of butter. It works! So creamy and frothy, like a latte! I add a little stevia and it's great! It accelerated my healing to get off of dairy. I've been carnivore for 6 months. The weight loss has just started happening. I've only about 20 lbs to lose, which I believe is a slower process than those that have 100+ to lose. Anyway... the buttered coffee in the blender was a game changer!

Hi Dana. I'm also 67 (5'4"). I had a similar experience with weight loss and yo-yo dieting, until I discovered paleo, then keto, then carnivore.
In 2020, I started keto June, then ketovore Sept.
Over the first 1.5 yrs, I slowly lost 30# and kept it off for a year (while continuing to eat some dark chocolate and macadamia nuts), until I got sucked into the idea of eating a stick of butter a day and 1800 calories minimum. In six weeks I gained back 12 pounds and 2 pant sizes!
I felt thick, fat and depressed! Ugh.
That was Nov 2022. The extra calories was mostly the butter. It tasted great, but set me on a butter addiction path.
It took me 6 months to turn my head back around and stop all the butter and inflammation it caused.
Since June I have decreased the butter to ~ 2T/day, and I limit myself to 1400-1600 calories. I had not previously tracked calories on carnivore and was never hungry, but I needed to track them because I couldn't trust my stomach to tell me when I'd had enough.
It's taken 3 months to drop 8# and one pant size, but I'm finally hopeful again.

Worked out every day, strict keto. I gave in because of frustration and gained 30 back. All the pain came back. I’m back on in day 54 keto and only lost 5 lbs. discouraging. But slow and steady. I may try carnivore next but keto I felt great. I like the 5 year plan. The long game! Non scale victories.

Hey now - it IS a quick fix. Almost nobody doesn't notice immediate changes in the first month or two on so many issues. Inflammation, joint pain, mood, skin, needing less meds, losing cravings, the list goes on. But the pounds may not miraculously drop every single week like they did at first. Like all weight loss, there are plateaus and challenges, and your message of patience and consistence is perfect for that part. Just don't downplay how much of "quick fix" this way of eating is for an entire spectrum of health issues. There is literally nothing else that can compare when making drastic changes for the better in a very short amount of time.

Thanks for sharing this story, Kathie and Kelly. I've been doing carnivore for about 5 weeks now, with just about 2 pounds of weight loss. To be fair, my pants are not as tight. I am 73 and extra-sedentary. I have a huge mental obstacle about exercising. I'm in the country with no paved road or driveway and I have low vision, so walking on uneven ground is both dangerous and unnerving. Or that's my excuse! So far I haven't been terribly depressed about the lack of weight, and given I'm a natural born carnivore (don't care for veggies except potatoes, corn, beans) and not a big craver of sweets or breads, the lifestyle isn't a burden. Fortunately no health problems. I've been telling myself to try walking (I do have a treadmill) regularly and see if this spurs any weight loss, sort of tells the metabolism it would be OK to release some of that fat. Anyway, this video came at an opportune time, I wasn't necessarily thinking of quittig, but was I disheartened, but I wasn't hugely encourage to continue, either. So thanks again to both of you. Kathie, do you have an email address you share, or a post office box for mail?

Incredible! I started modified carnivore 4 years ago and at first lost weight. Then around 1 year in I began to gain and craved only meat and eggs. But I stayed the course. Over the next two years I began to only crave beef, gained more weight and felt exhausted. Long story short I was severely anemic and my weight gain was from a large Fibroid that was removed recently. I no longer feel the need to eat 2lbs of beef a day, have energy and I’m slowly rebuilding.
Had I not been carnivore idk how I would have made it. I thank God for people like you Kelly who bring such great info to us.

I needed to hear this at this time. Thank you. I've been carnivore for a bit over 4 months... lost 30 pounds the first month, but nothing since. Now that said. I am soooo much better. The moment that made me start was me waking up disappointed because I did wake up. I was soooo depressed and disgusted with myself. I actually felt sorry for the poor blokes who would have to carry my worthless body out. Ugghhh... don't judge. Yes, depressed is probably a mild word for what I was feeling. The thing is, within a week I did a 180. I couldn't remember a time where I felt so "happy"???? Was it happy???? It was that foreign to me. I have kept my "happy" feeling even after not losing. Of course, I am seeing plenty of NSVs... so that adds to my "happiness". There is no way I will change this WOE. I do love hearing your stories of stalling. Thank you. I'm down about 45 lbs, was more this spring until vaccations and now dating, so not constantly carnivore. Also, I am not sleeping enough (life long problem). Anyway, this is helpful to help me stay consistent and on course. I'm 44, and I've been overweight since childhood. I'm 5'-3", and my heaviest weight was about 250 lbs. I'd tried everything to loss weight, so was about 220 lb when starting carnivore. Now im 175 lbs. I've gone from a size 18 to a 12. It's made a world of difference. I just need to stay the course and remember that if I eat non carnivore things, and don't get enough sleep, I don't see results (scale or inches). But, when I do it, everything is better from my belly firmness to my face skin.

I asked for some advice on a FB group and they all said eat way more meat and fat! I wasn’t eating enough. And I was eating 1/2 RX bars each day. Now I know what those dates in them were doing!! Raising my blood sugar. So I started eating more fat and meat and in the last couple of weeks I’ve continued losing a little each week. I’m trying to weigh only twice a week. I only have 25 lbs to lose so I know it’s going to be slow. But the biggest difference is that my arthritis has disappeared! Oh My God.... I really needed to hear this. I was starting to lose hope here. Please share this more often indeed. Sometimes it is so fantastic to see the before and after pictures and I realise that, that is the only thing you (want to) see. After soooooooo many diets you just want one thing. That this works. And although the evidence is there, we tend to forget that it takes time. This video is the reason I am continuing on this journey. I do have to say that small things did improve already but we live in a "fast" world and I was really anxious to get fast results as well. I have fibromyalgia and the only thing I want is just one day without pain. I would do ANYTHING to just wake up one single morning and not feel pain.
This video helps me to stick with it and stay on track. Thank you so much.
