  • In today's video I will be teaching you how to repair a particle board drawer. This drawer came from a laminate dresser (dresser makeover video here: • How To Paint Laminate ... ).
A few months ago I posted an ASMR version of this tutorial, showing you what I did, with the only audio being the organic sounds of me working.
Many of you requested this same video but with voiceover explaining the process step by step, so this video is for you!
If you enjoyed this video please give it a thumbs up, and if you didn't give it a thumbs down! Thanks for watching!
    xoxo,
    Holly

Yes, thanks for asking-I did learn something… I learned that I liked the length of this video for three reasons!!! I was able to polish my nails and look up often to see what you are doing. So, because of your amazing calm yet, instructive voice, I learned how to fix my kitchen silverware drawer (the front of the drawer breaks off in many people’s homes because of the weight), get my nails done for the week, and felt a calm come over me. You’re a true teacher!! Keep up the good work‼️🅰️+

Nice job, Holly! Particle board drawers aren't the most sturdy but you gave this one a new lease on life. Especially since kitchens are so expensive to upgrade! Hope you have a Happy New Year!

I have a problem, how do you change the depth of a drawer from thin to deeper? It's only about 2 inches high, not high enough to put books in. How can you reconstruct it?

I've never done anything like this before, so I don't feel qualified enough to give you a recommendation. Have you looked up specific videos showing how to rebuild a drawer or how to construct a custom drawer? That's where I would start.

@@ChicAntiquebyHolly I have been looking but I'm not seeing anything! I don't want to buy a completely new desk either. Thanks again.

@@VONALEXANDRIA oh dang that sucks. I wish I could help or offer advice, but I really don’t have any experience in that area. I hope you can find something to help 🙏🏻

My favorite part was when you didn't smash your fingers

I actually smashed my thumb on the previous drawer, so I decided to use the pliers on this drawer 😄

Not going to lie, watching her scrape off excess wood and glue with the putty knife was hard to watch. I'm certain she has a chisel, would have been way less aggravating to remove.
Also, gluing the drawer bottom defeats the purpose of kerf, doesn't it? It's supposed to be able to expand and contract. Wouldn't it be better to use mending wedges?
