    I’ve put a lot of miles on mine already and it’s been really comfortable ... I have the standard rip stop fabric version which is 0.9kg (slightly lighter than the Dyneema version) ... My roll top works differently to yours with two adjustable clips on the side which make it a bit neater ... those two top straps can be used to secure your tent ... I did that last time with my cloud up 2 and it worked great so should work for your Lanshan as well ... the back pad does get a bit sweaty on hot days but on days with normal temps it does keep your back cooler ... this bag is a copy of the ULA ohm 2 but at 1/3 the cost ! Neither Novice wild camper or myself have experienced the rubbing of the frame that Ruth talked about ... I hope you enjoy yours as much as I / we have ... Nice video ... ATB Dave Mc

      Thanks for your comments Dave. I discovered that this pack also has the side clips for the roll top lid which makes the whole pack so much more compact and neat. Due to being in tier 4 my Thruhike of the Northants Rounds has been postponed but I’m looking forward to giving this pack a good test on a longer backpacking trip. It’s good to know that others haven’t had the issue that Ruth had.

    I saw Ruths video after I ordered mine but I'm 6'4 so not really comparable. Had mine a couple of months now and loving it. Not got the dyneema as it wasn't out then but its a great bag. Subbed you by the way 👍

      Cheers! It was your video that convinced me to get it! I think Ruth’s video has put a lot of people off which is a shame. I think it’s a great pack (apart from my pockets open up backwards!).

    Thanks for the review. When you wear it looks a little bit low on you? Can you adjust the torso? Did you try it in the field yet. How much does the pack weigh? How does it compare with your two other packs?

    • @TheAdventureGeek
      @TheAdventureGeek  3 роки тому

      Hi Dano, thanks for taking the time to comment. It is a bit low on me, but so is my Salomon pack and that is super comfy. You can adjust the height of the hip belt, but not the torso (and it's 26 inches long). The pack weighs 1.31kg which includes the frame and rain cover (although I have now taken the rain cover out). There are pro's and cons when comparing it to my Osprey Aura 50 and my Salomon 44L packs. So far, it is holding up really well on day hikes. I have a 4-day wild camping trip planned over the Christmas Break, so I will feedback a bit more after that adventure. ATB - Julia

    Looks great. Just subbed. Do you find it to be a true 60l? Would love to hear how it handles rain-did you seal it? I am looking to get this in addition to the 3f one I already have. For the value, this seems fantastic. I may go for the 60 dyneema. I love my lanshan2pro.

      Thanks for taking the time to comment (and sub). Yes, I find it is a true 60L and I will find out how it copes in the rain after a four day / 50 mile hike in a few days time (I'll update the channel). How is the 3FUL pack? I love my Lanshan - I was thinking of upgrading to the Pro but was concerned about condensation. Happy Hiking! Julia

      @@TheAdventureGeek Hi Julia. I watched your video this morning an am excited to try out the pack. I am working in a remote northern Canada location and my mother picked up a ton of Amazom stuff for me that I will be umpacking at Christmas. Might try my own UA-cam also (been having lots of fun this winter planning spring and summer trips and watching gear reviews - might load up the pack for some ice fishing also to try it out).

I did watch some Justin Outdoors and mountains are on my to do list. I would not say he is "good" but Steve Wallis is a very enertaining outdoor adventure youtuber - the first video I watched I came across searching for rafting down the Saskatchewan River and I have watched some of his other videos now also. Will a hydration bladder fit in the second front pocket? The one you said about keeping your tent pegs in?
    Do you know why the dyneema version is heavier than the standard version?
    Great video btw, nice and thorough

    • @soapmode
      @soapmode 3 роки тому

      Not the standard long ones. I just tried with my new 60L Naturehike Rock Series. A wide low-profile bladder might do it, though there's no hook to hang it from in the second pouch. Wishing there was some sort of main pack insert that could adapt this bag for a bladder. What's weird is that the roll top has a drinking tube hole on either side, it's just there's no internal pouch or hooks for a bladder.

    Is there any advantage in going for the dyneema version vs the regular nylon? Naturehike lists the dymeema version (1.31 kg) as heavier than the regular nylon (1.16 kg). Thanks.

    • @TheAdventureGeek
      @TheAdventureGeek  2 роки тому

      I can't think why it would be lighter? Nylon would absorb more water, but that is the only reason I can think of to go for Dyneema.

    • @TheAdventureGeek
      @TheAdventureGeek  Рік тому

      I sold it in the end as it was just not comfortable on anything longer than 6 miles. I am 5ft 2 with an 18" torso, so it was just too big for me. It may fit you better as you are taller than me. The Osprey has more flexibility with adjustments,but you are paying for it.

      @@TheAdventureGeek , that interesting, I've been warned away from the pack for the reason you mention. I'm a 17 inch torso, so no chance for me! I've started looking at the Hyperlite packs but they're a fortune, might stick with saving up for the Osprey! Thanks so much for the update.

    I've had this pack for a while now and by far the biggest issue are the shoulder straps. They're poorly positioned and way too hard. I plan on removing them, repacking them with softer foam and restitching at a better position and angle

    • @TheAdventureGeek
      @TheAdventureGeek  3 роки тому +1

      That’s a really good question. I don’t use a bladder for my pack so it’s not a problem, but yuh are right. There is no pocket or even a loop hole to hang a bladder inside, but there are hydro holes, so it’s a bit strange.
