    I would like to say that as a canadian customer that I was impressed with the support of this company. I had the 540 mounted and the pistons were adjusted fully out when pulled down. I had also left the mount down and was gone for about a month. When I came back and tried to put the tv up, the pistons had seized fully extended. I contacted the U.S. office and explained the issue. They directed me to their canadian distributor and said that if there was an issue there, they would take care of it. The canadian distributor supplied the replacement parts and all is good. Would I recommend this product? Most definitely. When a company truly backs their product, I will definitely support them. Thank you Mantel Mount!

    I bought the MM540 mount on Amazon and installed it yesterday. This model is designed a bit different now and this install video no longer reflects the installation process for the MM540 mount as shown in the instructions provided with the mount. A few key design differences are the wall plate is now 2 separate pieces (a top and bottom bar), there's an additional leveling plate that attaches to the center arm, the safety bolt is now on the underside of the center arm (rather than the top), the sound bar consists of 2 rounded brackets (interesting design, but tricky to install), and the down stops are now above the bottom joint of the center arm. Overall the mount works great, granted I've only had it 1 day, but the install process is a bit laborious and you need quite a few tools to do the job. Definitely not what I would consider easy, especially compared to other non-pull down mounts I've installed. Not complicated yes, but easy no.
    TLDR: This video should be updated to reflect the current design and install process. Mount works great, but not easy to install.

      Sounds like you received our new and improved version of the MM540, which among other things allows for a much smoother, easier pull down, allows for direct attachment on far more sound bars, and also works for a wider range of installations based on a wider wall plate that reaches studs further apart than the previous wall plate.
      Sorry some of the install materials like the video were from the previous model. We’re working to update most MM540 online materials early 2020 but the install manuals in the box are updated already! :) Happy holidays, enjoy the mount and thanks for being our customer!

      Same. Having mine professionally installed as I type this. Video is slightly outdated as far as the model goes.

    How do I install it so that the TV is centered between the mantel and the ceiling?

    0:06 Isn't it recommended by manufacturers to avoid laying a TV flat like that since most of the weight gets shifted onto the screen? I'd imagine it's safer keep the TV propped up vertically while installing the braces to guarantee the screen won't crack.

    I want to order this. Is there a danger of it being too heavy for drywall with the arm or shouldn't be an issue? I plan on purchasing a 60or 65 inch 4K TV. Weight of the TV is 41 pounds.

    Ok so I have no studs to put a lag bolt into. I do have ship lap over drywall. So I was thinking could I use about 6 lag bolts? Three on top and three on bottom. (Evenly spread out). I will be mounting a 70 inch tv about 50 lbs

    I am looking to purchase this mount. But I am wondering if my Sonos Playbar could be attached to this mount?

    • @Mantelmountfans
      @Mantelmountfans  2 роки тому

      Yes, no problem. Customers have successfully connected the Playbar to the MM540 without the need of any additional MantelMount accessories. That said, for the "cleanest" look...some customers have chosen to use the Sonos Wall Mount Kit to connect the Playbar to the Mantelmount. Any further questions, don't hesitate to hit us up at contact@mantelmount.com. Thanks!

    Can you put the TV halfway down and have it stay there is the only options against the wall or maximum distance down in front of the fireplace?

    • @maurice3824
      @maurice3824 3 роки тому

      Once the tension is fully adjusted for the weight of your TV, the mount will hold it's position almost any where along the vertical travel. You would be able to stop the TV halfway.

    0:54 - Attach brace to arm. I either received old stock or you changed this design and it’s absolutely terrible. Why on this earth would you decide that putting bolts through the BACKSIDE with almost zero clearance for an Allen wrench was an improvement. That, or you sent me some old design you knew sucked. Either way, words cannot express my frustration right now.

    What are the limits for sound bar attachments?

    • @Mantelmountfans
      @Mantelmountfans  6 років тому +4

      Hi Jill, thanks for asking! The MM700 and the MM540 have a horizontal bar that any low profile device, including a sound bar, can attach to as long as their mounting holes are not wider than these dimensions: MM540: 725mm wide max, MM700: 800mm wide max.
      The mounting holes need to be on the back of the soundbar. Also the hole spacing should be no wider than 28.5" apart. Lastly, the mounting holes on the soundbar should be situated no higher than 4-5 inches from the bottom of the soundbar. The majority of the Vizio and Samsung soundbars work within these parameters!
      The MM340 will require a third-party "Universal Sound Bar Bracket" (many sold on Amazon).You will still be able to use the MM340 Pull Down handles if you incorporate a third party sound bar bracket into your setup.
      Please contact us if you have more questions. Customer service is happy to tell you if a specific brand/model number will work or not :) contact@mantelmount.com
      Thanks!

    Wow, could you have put any less effort into this? Would it bankrupt the company to narrate it? This is a nice sales pitch but absolutely useless when installing.
