I want to emphasize all ships present were committed, and at risk of loss (if they died, they were gone forever) The Ravager, the capitals, and the Eternity (sorta). Both sides fought with a fury, I haven't seen in space engineers to date. Great battle, both sides!.
In all seriousness very fun battle despite how long this recording session, I kinda felt bad for the EU guys since it was like 3 or 4am for em when finished
A toilet is probably the best place to command from in such a high stakes battle tbh. Saves you from having to change into your brown space suit anyway.
Beautiful battle, kinda shocked seeing yall intentionally engaging at 4km (outside of using the oldschool rails mod on a very slow or stationary target), never before seen a multi-person crew in a singular ship working with others quite like this (though I have flown in fleets before). Your gunners are shockingly good at leading targets. Most slugout matches I've been in were always within 1km, watching yall struggle to get things back online during a fight proves just how hard they were going trying to survive. Impressive all around seeing these designs try to survive.
Wastedspace and Captainshack's antics of semi-DM'd server antics may have got me into Space Engineers, but it's nice to see others add to it in their own way. A fun sit all the way through!
I hadn't even heard of Space Engineers until, like, 2 days ago, when I saw your video about the Eternity against the entire server, and look at me now: 20 episodes into binging a series that's way better than I ever would have expected. This game, and more importantly, the players you've gathered for this, are very cool. Can't wait to be caught up.
I've never seen a ship engage another in melee combat before but I have now. I've seen many great people try, and fail, to script a better fight than that. I cannot praise this series enough for so consistently goinging beyond anything else I've ever seen in so many ways.
Gutted is absolutely correct. Several of those Levi FOB shots went straight down the Eternity's throat and blew its insides to pieces. However, its design specs and massive size basically gave it 2-3 sets of guts to blow through. The Levi did substantial damage but in the end the Eternity could take it and keep fighting.
I just stumbled across this video, and it was awesome. the coordination and real risks made it so interesting. There aren't many times you get to see a ship get actually half gutted and keep on trucking like this in a space engineers series. I'm gunna have to watch the rest! Got a sub and a like out of me!
The Ravager showed that she's absolutely worthy of playing with the big girls, and that age is just a number but lethality is timeless. Also, I'm very proud of that speech XD Also also, that "Gunnery, kindly *TEAR THAT SHIP APART*." was genuine hatred of that ship XD
Your speech skyrocketed my motivation and made me wanna fight. even though the odds negligible. Hands down the best speech I've heard in a very long time.
@@V12Maniac Well thank you! I'm very proud of that speech despite it drawing HEAVILY from the Independence Day speech and Admiral Hackett's speech from Mass Effect 3 XD
@@CaptainRhodor Definitely noticed the correlation from the Independence Day speech, but god damn, I about to put on my space suit till I realized this was just a game xD
I actually build a ship based on the Eternity. It ended up a Bit bigger and with More firepower but i have a habit of doing that. Great ship. Great show
I'm finally getting around to saying my thoughts on Outlands S1. First things first: That point blank FOB shot was so hype! With that out of the way, the series has completely changed my perception of Space Engineer and reinvigorated my passion for the game. While I have always fantasized about the kinds of plots and battles happening in Outlands while I was building ships myself, to see them actually come to live is something else! I find the overall plot very engaging and appreciate how it all came down to this deciding theatre between the Riders and CDF, with the Eternity needing to stop the Leviathan and the Rider fleet going up against the CDF fleet. It was clear what was on the line: Either the CDF wins and reasserts dominance over the system, or the Riders and EFN can cripple them so severely to force them to the negotiating table. I was particularly blown away by the actual effectiveness beyond mere roleplay of crewed ships with a pilot, gunners, damage control and a dedicated commander. In my opinion, especially Brock commanding the Eternity shows how tactics can affect the battlefield, how it matters to keep control of com chatter, have clear commands for fast communication, and quickly adapt to changing circumstances - never leaving the crew without orders. I find it very enjoyable to see the Eternity able to work outside the role she was designed for, thanks to her crew! On a more personal note, this series in addition to Brock’s ship-design videos have completely changed my mindset when building ships myself. I was extremely guilty of creating “gunbricks” before. But to actually consider budget and firing arcs makes for a much more fun building experience and much more interesting designs. I love most of the ships we see on Outlands!
The intensity of these battles expecially towards the end from like 30:00 and onwards was incredible. The most invested i've ever been in any show, series, movie etc. Absolutely loving this. Keep up the great work :)
This was hands-down the single most brutal fight in the entire series to this point. In previous battles, there was always the option to retreat if things got REALLY bad. Not this time. This time if one side retreated or was killed, that would determine how the finale and S2 played out, as well as determining the fate of the Riders. This time both sides fought until the bitter end, despite HORRIFIC damage being sustained on both sides, and I think that's what makes it amazing.
@@CaptainRhodor I wasn't even sure what the outcome was gonna be. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Once the Leviathan was for the most part destroyed, that's when I new the battle shifted towards the Eternity's and Rider's side. well just for like 2 minutes until the cease fire was called. But either way, absolutely incredible battle.
and to think that, at the very begining (1:15) the riders said they wouldn't forget about EFN's sacrifice defending the shipyard... and then, season 2, episode 1...
Happened across this series about 2-3 days ago and couldn't help but binge this first season. You drew me in and kept me on the edge of my seat like few series could. The fact that the view count is still relatively low on these videos is CRIMINAL. I hope the UA-cam algorithm grants this series, and all the work you and everyone involved has put into it, the attention it truly deserves! Can't wait to see more!
Acting Captain Brock, you continue to 1-up yourself. I thought the story for the 11th fleet uprising was outstanding, this one blows that out of the water! You and your community have a passion seldom seen for this game, and the world you've created. I have to tip my hat to your skill, and your passion. Watching these has been a privilege
Revisiting this episode, I'm convinced I made the right call keeping Zephyr Squadron as it was with the destroyers. It was a tried and tested fleet comp and the fact that we only lost one destroyer in driving off the first force that the CDF mustered that was theoretically superior despite Ravager is very telling.
@@admiralmallard7500 We actually specifically went with default Zephyr BECAUSE we were all but certain you were going to capital stack XD We were confident enough that you'd try to cruiser spam that we decided to go with a rounded squadron for tackle and pin tactics. Ended up working like a charm.
Wow what an incredible battle. I have seen many battles in this game but wow this was great. Watching the Eternety getting torn appart but continueing to fight was so great and then the ram into the Leviathan with the music was incredible i am exited to see more of this

I have rewatched this episode multiple times and it still gives me chills when you all pin the FOB down. Such a beautiful and cinematic video you all made. I wish that one day, a movie like this would be put out, like a four hour long movie of uncut outlands. I would call into work to watch it over and over, to see the building process, love of roleplay, and the battles you all do. I also love your series cause you dont focus on one type of battle, you mix it up or use both at the same time, you also put other faction battles between main episodes proving not just your love of the series, but the other factions' love for their homes. Great job, keep up the amazing work, and i cant wait to see season four finished. Im waiting to watch until its done so i can binge it in one go. Love you Brock, tell everyone on the Eternity that i love everyone there and that theyre all amazing, same with the other factions. (Eternitys my favorite, dont tell them that. ;)
When you take so much damage you have to command the battle from a random toilet
At least you don't need someone to bring you your brown pants.
