Money Talks is a 1997 American action comedy film directed by Brett Ratner (in his directorial debut) and starring Chris Tucker and Charlie Sheen. It is the first of four collaborations between Brett Ratner and Chris Tucker, with the other three being the Rush Hour series.
Reporter James (Charlie Sheen) brings petty crook Franklin (Chris Tucker) to justice, but as Franklin is being taken to jail, he is unwittingly drawn into a violent prison break. The police pursue Franklin, mistakenly thinking he killed several officers, so the fugitive turns to James for help. Figuring he has stumbled upon the story of a lifetime, the journalist agrees to prove that Franklin is innocent. Unfortunately, things don't go smoothly, and both men find themselves on the run.

Blackbuster needs to do Life
I just seen that classic for the 10000th time!!!
For the culture
Always said this. Friday and Rush Hour probably Chris Tucker best movies but this his best performance. A whole classic and he got it on his back
In the debate of the Bad Boys franchise versus the Rush Hour franchise Bad Boys($601million) made more total money while having lower total budget($239million) while Rush Hour made $581million on a total budget of $265million . Also, Bad Boys 3 is the highest grossing of the 6 combined films with $436.5million on just a $90million budget. While they spent $140million on Rush Hour 3 and it only made $258million. So I'm gonna say Bad Boys is the bigger franchise by a SMALL MARGIN. They grossed more total money on a total lesser budget therefore making more total profit.
I love the thought provoking comparison between Chris and Martin🤔. I’m still sitting on the fence but I’m leaning toward Martin. It may be because I saw him more than Chris Tucker. Aside from watching his sitcom, his characters send me till this day. When he got high off X in Bad boys II😂, talking mess to the security in A Thin line…, so many other moments in his other movies. On the other hand, Chis in money talks was way more funny than in Rush Hour, in my opinion. Smokey is legendary though so I’m still on the fence with this on.
Dizzle said nothing to lose & blue streak? Jah said national security? All three of them martin movies were trash....prolly his 3 worst movies....and don't forget black knight.....trash. but damn near everything else he was in was great
Y’all gotta do What’s the worst that can happen
Money Talks came out in 1997
Heather Locklear and Elise Neal are like the two most beautiful ladies in this movie
Well since you guys gave away the fists to Friday, can we get that review plz? Been waiting on that one
I’m a little disappointed y’all forgot to mention one of the most Hilarious scenes in the film 😭
“Hello ? Yeah ! It’s Mike Mitchkin remember me ? Yeah you done fucked with me for the last time goddammit there’s a bomb in the building, that’s right there’s a bomb in the building”
Charlie sheen tries to interfere**
“There’s a goddamn bomb in the building and it’s finna blow you better get YO ASS OUT RIGHT NOWWW” 🤣🤣🤣
What if Smokey’s real name is Franklin Hatchet..and that’s why he wasn’t in the Fridays
Martin list goes longer then Chris
Favorite part is him on the prison bus & helicopter.
Red camel coming to us
Yall need to "Nothing to Lose" the Brian Hooks movie
Martin played a cop in hella movies ig when u make it big u do cop movies
Ice cube
Eddie Murphy
Chris tucker rush hour
Martin got iconic characters but nobody touches Chris Tucker funny
Martin is one of the goats , he a had good movie run from 94-99
Quick opinion question… With Giancarlo, Esposito and John C. McGinley not have made a good movie as their characters on “ nothing to lose”?
Esposito was excellent as big brother almighty tho
Aaron's bodyguard was the cop in Class Act that was talkin to Duncan.
I really need to be on the show to help you niggas out.🤦😂
😂😂.. YALL FORGOT "MIKE FROM MICHIGAN "!!😂
I was crying when i first seen this
Franklin aint no banger, Okay!
Elise Neal killed this line. I say it randomly in life lol.
She was fine asf in that movie
@@jcchambers7896 bro she is still gorgeous now.
@@crharper25 nah frfr
Money Talks is such an underrated movie they gotta throw Trippin' in the rotation next
"All UGLY MUTHAFUCKAS MUST GO!!"
😂😂
Money talks is what funded rush hour.
Can we get undercover brother next?
Undercover brother is hilarious
Classic
Chris and Fazon in the jail cell was stupid funny
We need a jackie brown black buster review
But yall aint mention the best part when Franklin didn't hesitate when he said " Medulla Oblongata!!"
Yea he fckd that line up. Chris was talking so damn fast a lot of people miss it entirely.😂
Franklin Hatchett is a hustler by day, a player by night, but his mouth is the only thing bigger than his bank accounts
Y'all got to review Most Wanted starring Keenen Ivory Wayans Jon Voight Jill Hennessey Paul Sorvino Robert Culp Wolfgang Bodison Simon Baker Denny and Eric Roberts
Tone Damone Jr lmao
"Is this what you want?" "Huh, is this what you want?" "Come and get it got dammit." When he threw those diamonds at the end when I see it as a teenager I was like NOOOOOOOO. But now watching it as an adult that is still one of the most iconic scenes in movies. But now I know that if those diamonds are real they would have broke into a million pieces. And Frenchie knew those were not the real diamonds as well. Which is why he made the face he made before he got in the helicopter and got blown to bits. Damn I'm about to watch this movie today.
Nah they were real....Franklin just kept a few that's all.
Andre Rosey Brown, also played the school resource officer in Class Act. He was the guy trying to get with the school secretary, played by Simply Marvelous. (RIP)❤
Also y’all ain’t bring up “red light, green light?!?”
Posse and sugar hill these two hood classics have to be in the line up
Tone scared me for a minute when it came to the comparison to Martin.. Good thing he had two good friends to talk him off that ledge. Haha. Don’t forget “Do The Right Thing” “Boomerang” At the end of the day Martin paved the way for a Chris Tucker. #BothLegends
Well he was only talking comedies that they starred in.....in that regard he might have a debatable point. When CD said nothing to lose and blue streak tho? Them flicks were trash bruh
Chris Tucker made “Phat” popular in that one scene!
"P-H-A-T (Pretty, Hot and Tempting)"
i agree with ol boy, he was able to be himself and be broad
Money talks is hilarious 😂
Especially the scene where Chris Tucker and Charie Sheen fist fight in the hallway at the Auto Expo
To me Chris Tucker comedy was he could play the guy whose mouth always gots him in trouble. It worked cause we all knew that one friend or family member who cant shut up even when they winning. That was his lane early in the 90s.
😢 tttt 😢😢😢
Nowhere in this life or the next is Blue Streak and Money Talks similar.🤦
Exactly, Blue Streak wasn't that funny but Money Talks is hilarious
This is one of my favorite movies. This & All About The Benjamins are mirror movies. Can we please get breakdowns of the following movies:
Talkin Dirty After Dark
Who’s The Man
Fear Of A Black Hat
Mo’ Money
A Low Down Dirty Shame
Sprung
It came out in 97, rush hour was 98
You guys do Major Payne yet?
Definitely a classic that gets played multiple times a year! I feel like this movie done got me booty having it on when females came threw! 💪🏾😁
Oooo shit yall gotta do all about the benjamins and mo money next them is the perfect movies to do a 3 movie comparison like how yall was gone do wit boyz menace and juice
I think they was shooting at him cuz the news said he was armed and dangerous from killing cops
We need a CROOKLYN
I'm mad yall didn't talk about the jail scene with faizon.
Please do "Trippin" & "Caught Up"
P-H-A-T (Pretty High and Tempting)
I’m Too Deep… South Central…
Money talks one of my all time favorites, gotta do All about the Benjamins! Interested to see y’all’s perspective on where it stands as a “blackbuster” ice cube brings something different to the table being as he sort of crossed over to more mainstream family friendly film etc and was welcomed by such a broad market coupled with Mike Epps & his style & authenticity.. to go a step further it’d be interesting to hear a take on those two in general they’ve had some good ones (next Friday, Friday after next)
Love this episode. I’d love to see your takes on Sugar Hill, Baby Boy, Training Day, & American Gangster
"You had me with Kevin" 😂😂. Tone went WAY too far with Martin. Martin had a 3 to 4 run in the 90s with hit movie after hit movie.
Yes, but blue streak nothing to lose & black knight tho? They were terrible
This was such a funnnny asss classic underrated movie chris tucker really carried it but man its some funny ass lines and moments 😂😂😂 AYE WHERE YO SHIRT AT ?
Ikr....Faizon said they adlibbed that whole scene.
Now that I think about it no other comedian does compare to Chris. Martin is close tho that’s a great comparison.
Could y’all do the inkwell
Red light green light 😂😂
this a solid 4.5 . its always watchable and a 100% classic
Chris Tucker's small scene in House Party 3 is what got him Friday, he showed in that very short scene what kind of Charisma and Talent that he had. This just put it over the Top, that he could carry a Film, and be the Main Attraction. Charlie wasn't forgettable to me. He had some great Lines that I'll always remember. The Favorite being "Oh, it's like a 'G-Dog, on the Fly Tip. Flossin wit tha Posse. Cuttin in the Crib's. What the FUCK does THAT mean". Love that line. Should've known that would come up. I gotta stop being so impatient.
Nothing To Lose came out the same year as this (I know because I spent '97 watching them, Event Horizon and Texas Chainsaw The Next Generation). It's very similar to Money Talks, and is probably a little funnier. Rush Hour is NOT bigger than Bad Boys, and that's before this recent one.
The fight scene between Chris Tucker and Charlie Sheen reminds me of the fight scene between Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy in "48 Hours." Where somebody is being called a "fucker"
1997 was the year for Chris Tucker
This movie always felt like it was a related to Rush Hour. Almost as if the films are connected. They're just so similar but you can say that by a lot of buddy cop movies made back then.
Money Talks was filmed in the summer of 1996 and wrapped in the fall of 1996 where Chris Tucker was 23 going on 24 years old
Smokey character is a bite overrated and not as funny as Roscoe Jenkins💯
I liked how bigg jah said he wasnt that much of a fan of black knight by Martin because i wasnt feeling that one much either
Need a great white hype review
LVP gotta be Charlie's fiancé...that coulda been anybody forreal
Aaron's sidekick was the officer in class act. He also played on a episode of Martin. He always plays small roles in movies. But he's a good actor.
Money Talks is one of my fav 90'z movies!!!! Chris Tucker didn't get his cred until NOW for this movie... even Rush Hour get mentioned over this one!!! Major influence on All About the Benjamins due to concept and Reggie similar to Franklin character.
What was your favorite scene that cracked you up in Money Talks
@patrickbarnes4735 McArthur Park scene when Franklin and Big Man was arguing bout where homie got shot... in the ass!
The scene where Charile Sheen rescues Chris Tucker from getting shot by the french criminal reminds me of the scene in "Menace II Society"
Big dude was in the jail cell in that Martin episode when his friend had them stolen credit cards. Lol told buddy “stop the press “ because his breath stank lol
I think big bro was the cop in class act
I wonder if they will see this comment and do The Inkwell anytime in the future!
y'all forgot the boys the girls i f'd them all thats my part and my favorite part where yo shirt at
Bernie max as well had cross over success A little but with oceans 11
The big dude was in Class Act tho. He was the security guard at the jail that wanted a date with the teacher
Chris Tucker wears a Styrofoam Hair Piece for his character
Funny thing is Charlie Sheen hung out with the Brothers at SamoHi
Gotta do "Harlem Nights " review.
I hope y'all do Strapped next plz😢 And Zooman😂
ill put it this way...if its on tv you will most likely leave it on, 3.5
Big guy was the cop in Class Act
Yall should do Cooley high next💯
Big dude played a cop in Class Act
Still one of my favorites
Y’all trippin it at least a 4
It’s a classic movie
Love the pod! Still have Money Talks on VHS. Also, Claude and Ray are two of the funniest characters ever put on film
Have you ever had the Money Talks soundtrack album
He was a cop in Class Act
In Too Deep #Review
🔥💯

Great review
And Chris Tucker isn’t the international draw for the Rush Hours even though he was hilarious in the first 2💯
"He here for me! He don't know nothing about the guns, the ho's, and the drugs"🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just started this and I must say, the video quality is quite impressive. The clarity is exceptional and the frames per second are truly remarkable. I was wondering if you could kindly share the make and model of the camera you are using for this shoot. Your response would be greatly appreciated.
Hot Take Tone did it again lol Tucker vs Lawrence is a good debate tho 😂🔥
Oh yeah.
Chris Tucker had the energy of a young Eddie Murphy
Great video fellas 👌
