I live in Massachusetts. I find that my fingers grow too cold when temperatures fall below 40F and there is even a slight wind. I use a thin glove for the bow hand that is an inner liner for a ski glove. It comes with an exterior pocket that can house a heat pack. I can use the other glove for the string hand but there is no avoiding its adverse effects when shooting.
Great info: In 35-50 degree weather, I wear a T-shirt,light jacket, thin running pants and open toe sandals , but that’s just me. I follow Jakes videos and practice 7 days a week , 125/150 barebow recurve a day in 3 sets. Thks Jake. -78 yrs old-
Hahahaha! Returning to shooting by attending a beginner course (outdoor) at my local club after a 10 year lay off. Looking forward to this Saturday, just as UK weather is forecast to plunge down to - 7 celcius.......... Loving the channel, awesome presentation and highly valuable info to ease me back in! Greetings from the UK, Subbed!
… And a baseball cap .. above mid 50’s, T-shirt. Just passed 28’500 arrow since June 16th with 520 in on day the most with a 40# recurve (50 #10. %) . RH 40# and working LH 35# in. -78 yrs old-
We have a winter round called a “frostbite” here in the U.K. 3doz arrows, 80cm target, 30m. If there isn’t frost or snow on the ground (which is preferable, otherwise our outdoor range is basically a bog, so we’re knee high in mud), you can guarantee it’ll be pouring with rain, or blowing a gale. Clubs all over the country compete against each other by shooting the round at their own range once per month and send their scores in to the coordinator who runs the virtual league. Obviously this relies on honour and honesty but it’s mostly for fun and people tend to stick to the rules. I’m lucky enough to have a wonderful set of thermals base layers, that are close fitting but wonderfully stretchy so I don’t feel as restricted as I might in multiple layers of cotton, the problem comes in finding a good, well fitted breathable waterproof without an excess of zips, pockets or cuff velcro. I also use usb rechargeable heat packs, wear padded ski trousers and really good boots and thick socks so at least my lower half is warm. A thick hat is also absolutely essential, then with top and bottom warm the vital middle bit doesn’t suffer too much! Also carry a really big set of mittens so that you can easily slip them on to warm your hands between ends. If you sew loops onto the mittens you can hang them from your quiver belt when shooting. Would be great to hear your advice, particularly as a Floridian, for dealing with extremes of hot, humid weather in a few months time. That’s where I really struggle! Thanks.
Not sure if you’ve mentioned yet; just started watching video; but wanted to contribute with a cold weather gear hack i figured out.. Buy rain jackets from golf shops; golf clothing is perfect for archery as it tends to be well fitted while also allowing for good movement of arms.
As always, years of experience in a few minutes. Thank you. I was wondering if you have any updated info on the Axia Foam limbs from Hoyt and also on the Hoyt GMX 3 25" riser?
Jake, what do you do about your fingers on the string hand when it’s cold. I don’t have the best circulation and I find that the hardest as it gets cold
amzn.to/48IVKvK these are excellent, keep your tab in there between ends, will keep the metal plate warm, keep hands in there as you walk to get arrows and even put your string hand in there between arrows to keep it warmer.
Is there any recommendation for cold hand specifically the one wearing the finger tap, and also the face because in cold weather between 20 and 30 my face and hand freeze and I can’t feel them during my practice.

there's something strange going on with the video quality here, it's like there some strange thing going on right around your silhouette, it's kinda uncanny. maybe it's just some auto-focus shenanigans...just wanted you to know.
Temperature is subjective, but to behave in this way for 50 degree weather, I have to question your ability to survive in this world without outside assistance.
Shit my southwest archery Spyder recurve in minus 15 Celsius or 5 degrees Fahrenheit. Hoody over insulated shirt, t-shirt, insulated glove on right hand (I'm a left handed draw). String fingers got cold after 24 arrows. Clothing not a problem with accuracy as I'm shut at archery. 😃
Kind of chuckling about what you are considering cold weather and cold weather gear. That said some good points.
They’re expensive, but merino wool performance shirts are incredible for cold weather. And they don’t get the synthetic funk smell.

Last week the bowstring caught the drawstring of my hood and flung it into my eye.
I just installed your Tiller Bolts on my Hoyt hunting rig and they are incredible. Nice product, Jake.
Thanks! Glad you like them!
Hey @JakeKaminskiArchery :) Wondering if there's any developments regarding a European distribution platform ?
Constant progress/development but not ready yet!
Hi Jake would explain how the pointer weight affects the arrow weight.
Timely advice, thanks
I hunt when its -20 . Never thought of it as a issue?
Parka and a glove on bow hand.
Just have to make sure my anchor point remains the same.
Cheers
Thank you Jake, as always 🙂🙏

Hot hands are also a less expensive option!👍🏹🎯😁
A Leather glove with tab slipped over my middle finger works in all weather.

Hand warmers, keep your tab in a pouch with the hand warmer
@@JakeKaminskiArchery could you explain more please? You mean wearing warming pouch during shooting?

USB chargeable hand warmers in the pockets and a heated body warmer work well for me
What brand quiver do you use
This one is from Whiskey City Archery
Me gustaria poder entrenar con usted.
I always take the strings out of hoodies
謝謝教練~
thank you for this cause im struggling out here. lol
Him: its 50 fahrenheit and its cold.
Me: has -20 celsius = -4 fahrenheit outside.
Well we live in the south so our bodies have adapted to the environment in which we live! 👍😁😂🤣😆😎

minus 23 celcius here - your cold is a joke
That's why I don't live there! haha

Good thing I put on a good facade
Gotta laugh at this one…should find a spot where it is actually cold…SMH
