Exactly - you ALWAYS take negative off first then positive. On reconnect you connect positive first then negative. When jumping a car you connect positive first then on negative on the strong battery or jumper then same order on the jumpees or dead battery. Let jumper car run 5 min if you can then disco negative then positive repeat for jumpees car last.
Not a problem. This is a major issue with this vehicle that seems to be overlooked.a lot until the electrical system fails. I know personally I pay attention to my vehicle and engine every oil change but I still missed this until it completely failed. Thanks for watching.
Hey Dave, what is the name of the EGR line that you connect to the last of the video, I needed to change it and I didn't even know how to get it , tks👍🏼
Hey sorry my computer crashed that part two was on. I am still trying to get it off of the hard drive but because its not a finalized video its causing issues. What questions do you have? I may be able to help.
I had a couple of questions. In reference to replacement of the battery cables, I disconnected the starter leads and the ground, but cant seem to get the last positive lead disconnected. Its that last one thats connected to a sensor? I dont want to break that sensor, but when I put a socket on that last nut, the whole sensor flexes. Also, I was looking forward to seeing how you finished the wiring. Thanks
Your right Dave , I apologize I was having a hard time trying to figure out something on my car and I was being a dick . Your just trying to help people out and that’s more than I was doing . Again I apologize for my last comment
Why did you replace the egr tubes and not just the cables. Was not the addition of some insulation enough. How do I know whether I need tubes or not. I need ccables but had not thought about replacing the tubes as well. Kind of expensive. $113

michael M one simple screw up doesn’t cancel out all of the other work that was completed. I appreciate the insult though. 👍🏻 You clearly don’t know everything either if you were watching my video to figure this out yourself. No one is perfect. Good luck with your project.
if you touch any part of the car while removing positive cable it could arc. The manual says always take the negative off first.

Yes guys I screwed up this step not thinking straight.
Thank you for this video, it really helped me a lot, because I did not know how those two hoses were connected

I cant remember exactly but I believe they called it the EGR tube.
Thanks for the video, but I really wanted to see part 2 where you replaced the battery cables.

I had to pull out the starter to get that last wire off. It is only 2 more bolts since one of the starter bolts is for the ground.

No worries. I just saw this comment. Thanks for watching.
Neg first, then last when reconnect
Yeah I realized that after. My mind was spent. This took 8 hours with all of the problems I ran into.

carlos lovera my egr tube had a hole in it causing extreme heat to be blown on the cable
@@DaveMedicus Ok. Thank you. I will check mine just in case.
Hi Dave !! Do you know the size of the bigger hose ??? (The one on the right side)
Mine has small dent and its leaking
I do not. It comes all welded together. I dont have the car with me right now or I would measure it for you.
Zetec and egr ?
Yes
Do you have part 2?? I'm half way through replacing these stupid cables on this horribly designed car.

NOOO!!! Always take the NEGATIVE out first!!!
Yeah I screwed that up. it was a long day no excuse
Do not follow this guys direction , you always remove negative first . This guy must work at jiffy lube or auto zone cuz he is way off
