- Singapore Management University (SMU) was privileged to host Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the Ho Rih Hwa Leadership Lecture Series on Thursday, 20 September 2018.
In the first part of the event, consisting of a lecture by Datuk Seri Anwar, he started by addressing the student population and shared that the purpose and aim of education is the assimilation of knowledge for the dissemination of truth. He also regaled the audience with his journey as a politician in Malaysia and how he overcame the many tribulations that were in his path.
Held at the SMU Hall, the event saw close to 1,200 attendees consisting of the foreign diplomatic community, chambers of commerce, the SMU Board of Trustees, School’s Advisory Board members, faculty, staff, students, and alumni, as well as principals, teachers and students from other educational institutions.

DSAI is a leader of immense quality and ahead of his time. He doesnt need to read from a prepared speech, that is a mark of a leader. Had he been a Singaporean, he would be a Prime Minister by now.

Good event by the university..inviting great leaders to speak and share visions & opinions. How i wish at least one university in Malaysia can held this kinda event at which young people are expose and ask directly at discussion topic.

He is the only politic man among all others who speaks fluent English without any Malay word added to his English msg. I think he must have good result in other subjects such as to differentiate btwnn History from Geografy . very special edition from God. if those who understood what Mr Ho had said in between his lines tt Anwar was employed by Tun as finance Minister and at that time he noticed the misused of finance in terms of cronies ... He was right or rather to say even now he is right.
To be rewound for us to this day just to remind us all Malaysian nations in relation with Mr YB DSAI quality of leadership which is suited his struggle of justice and reformation of good governance for our country right.
