    Fazle, incredible video. You explained each step in great detail. I recently applied to EWR here in NJ and I was selected to take my computer-based test. What kinds of questions do they ask during the federal interview? Thank you!

      Types of Interview Questions with Examples
      ua-cam.com/video/ihr3skIZ1sQ/v-deo.html
      In a next few weeks I'll be setting up a way to help people 1-on-1 with Federal job interview prep, resume writing and prep, and how to evaluate a Federal job posting and keyword evaluation.
      If you're interested in 1-on-1 help after you pass your CBT, let me know. I'll send you the details on how to get started.
      The types of questions on the CBT will be basic reading and writing, with the difficulty of an 8th grade final exam.
      The xray test is a different story. It tests color vision. To get an idea of what it will be like. go to Google and search "x-ray baggage screening images". Go through those images and try to identify the objects in the pictures. Those will be the same types of images you'll see on the xray portion of the CBT. I went in a took the test cold, back in 2009. There was no information on all this back then, especially no images on Google.

      I have applied to the FB group with both of my FB accounts.
      I completed the CBT, and filled out everything for the E-qip SF-86 and submitted it a few weeks ago but I haven't received any response about the background check. I'm wondering when they will start the investigation or if they already have.
      I'm still waiting for my airport assessment, and I even completed a second application to a different airport nearby to hopefully increase the odds of being selected soon for airport assessment.

    How long does the medical portion part take along with the background check?
    Will me being ex military police help speed up the process?

    • @theTSAguy
      @theTSAguy  3 роки тому

      Medical takes a few hours, background cash take 90 days to get your interview scheduled and then another 90 to you get a final result. You get an interim clearance to your full investigation clears. There's no way to speed up the process even if you're former military or police. Every agency does your investigation all over again, unless you're getting an upgrade in clearance within the same agency.

      No, this is a very easy job. Just need a very comfortable pair of shoes because of all the standing. The lifting is continuous but not in the sense that it's exhausting. The conveyor does all the work, you only touch a bag if you're physically looking at what is inside.

    • @theTSAguy
      @theTSAguy  3 роки тому

      I worked at the Atlanta airport and my starting was $15.50. TSA and FAA are on an antiquated pay scale, so the pay is a lot different from the rest of the government. I left to a different agency with in DHS back in 2013, so I'm no longer on the TSA pay scale.
      If you want to ball park what you will be paid. Look up the GS-5 pay in your locality. Then subtract 10k off that. If you're part-time, after you subtract 10k, then you divide by 2.
      I never intended on staying at TSA passed 2 years. So I didn't care much about pay. I just needed a foot-in-the-door.
      I'll have a video going up tomorrow and more videos about the TSA and Federal promotion structure, life after TSA and how to transition between Federal agencies.

    • @theTSAguy
      @theTSAguy  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Alexa,
      TSA leaves the posting open till the due date. Whoever applies will start going through the process after the posting closes. There will always be positions available because turn over numbers are astronomical. The job posting closing date is just a way to control the flood gates and keep an adequate supply of candidates in the hiring pipeline. Hiring is a year round process. You can always apply to one airport and then contact HRAccess and tell them to transfer your application to another airport. So don't worry about dates.
      Ex. If there's 50 spots open, and 150 apply. Then all 150 will go through the hiring process. You will all sit in the "Ready Pool" until it's your turn to get a start date as more openings come up. Then rinse and repeat.
      If you haven't subscribed yet go ahead and do so. I'll have more videos coming. Also I made a facebook group for people in the Federal employment hiring process to compares notes and ask questions. Link is below.

    Took the CBT test on Wednesday completely different from the Midway airport position in Chicago. More math and matching questions. Got my tentative offer two days later and and submitted the forms just now waiting for the code to submit for background check.

    I am waiting for my background check. have a clean record no arrest, no drugs etc but I dont have any information of a certain job because I worked for them years ago and that job shut down so I didn’t put it on my eqip form. Would that disqualify me from working at tsa , ??

    • @theTSAguy
      @theTSAguy  2 роки тому

      No, that won’t hurt you. Just let the investigator know why it was left off and give as much information you have. It’ll be a dead end for them anyways. But that’s the job they signed up for.

    When you apply, are you applying for any airport or just one airport? What happens if you move in-between the time that you apply and your airport assessment?, etc

    • @theTSAguy

      Don’t put all you hopes into one job if you’re qualified for others that pay more. The speed of you hiring will depend on how fast your airport is hiring.
      Larger airports = higher turnover = faster hiring

      There should be a phone number on your candidate dashboard. You call that number and tell them what's going on. From what I know now they are only accepting emails. You should see that on the candidate dashboard as well. The link to the fb group is in the description box. You can also ask the group. This happens pretty often.

    • @theTSAguy

      Hey Harold, you're the 3rd person that's brought this up. Right now you're only option is to contact HRAccess or I would contact you POC that scheduled your airport assessment and let them know. Being unable to contact HRAceess is a new problem that's surfaced during COVID. Right now you guys are going through the growing pains of the agency HR process having to adapt to new processes.
      The good news is since you're military I'm sure you needed a security clearance for your MOS and already completed a SF-86. So your information should already be saved in the database and all you'd need to do it just update.
      This is the only part of the process where my advice is limited.
      If you haven't subscribed go ahead and do . I'm working on getting more videos edited and uploaded.

      You should have an emergency fund saved anyways, at least 6 months.
      If not you will need to find temporary work or make a payment plan with your creditors. Not much else you can do.

      Look in your junk mail search "registration code". I spoke to about 3 prior people who found it there. If you join the Facebook group, there's prior there that had the same problem that can help you through it. Libk in the description.
