Some things to note about the terminology of the mechs in this setting: The humanoid mechs you've seen so far are called mobile suits, but they're not Gundams. There are no specific qualifications for something to be called a Gundam in this timeline (Universal Century), but it's a name given only to some mobile suits. There's also the more general term "mobile weapon" which includes "mobile suit" as one of its types, but I think it's not necessary to go into details for it yet.
If you guys like this series, I definitely suggest continuing the timeline with the movie Trilogy version of the original Gundam 1979 series. It's shorter and more refined compared to the original show (Gundam's creator cut out a lot of corny parts of the original series to make it more realistic). And although the animation is dated, it's a direct continuation of the Origin and the writing still holds up very well. I honestly stopped noticing how old the animation is not even halfway through the first movie cause I liked the writing so much when I first watched it. It's also around the same length as the Origin (about 7 hours), so it doesnt take as long to get through compared to a full series
The boy with a toy is the main character of the first gundam. Him and Char are the most iconic chractor of Gundam series. Hopefully I watch your reaction of first gundam either.
I thought it was sad but it definitely wasn't too far, i mean that cats probably really old by then, it has lived a full life and seen more places than most cats, like Sayla said at least now their mother has company, she couldn't't see her children for one last time but perhaps a piece of them through their cat would at least provide her solace in newtype heaven.
A little context that will help here: The Origin stands up alright on its own, but is, first and foremost, a prequel to the original Mobile Suit Gundam (AKA First Gundam). Because it was developed as a prequel, there are a lot of unresolved character threads that are really just introductions to characters who originally showed up in First Gundam. I hope you'll consider doing some other UC Gundam stuff on the channel, because a lot of it is great. I'll echo a recommendation I saw earlier for War in the Pocket -- really awesome side story. Also, I'll repeat myself and recommend 8th MS Team. Bigger-picture Gundam context -- the franchise's messaging is as anti-war as a show that exists to sell fighting robot toys can be. Zeon is presented with a fascist-populist rise to power here, and First Gundam is in many ways a WW2 allegory, but in the larger context of the Universal Century, we see both sides play the villain. Regardless of who they fight for or against, our protagonists are usually members of a younger generation who serve as fodder for the whims and wills of an older generation that is, as a rule, not interested in the younger group's welfare, even when they're ostensibly on the same team. In this instance, you're already seeing by Episode 2 that the Federation is brutally suppressing and exploiting the colonies, but even among the colonists, our protagonists are constantly attacked by the entrenched power structures of their fellow Spacenoids, even as the Spacenoids are also trying to shake free of their own oppressors. If you are enjoying the politics at play here, you will enjoy UC Gundam and a lot of the other Gundam timelines, even if the older shows aren't always as focused on the politics as they are on introducing a new kind of robot so Bandai can sell more models. Sorry, I love Gundam so much and there's just so much depth to dig into. I'm glad you guys are enjoying it!
The next ep might have an after credits scene! Just a heads up. Great reaction guys, you’re in for a wild ride with watching UC Gundam! Shits going to be insane. That boy you saw chasing the ball robot thing? (It’s called Haro and he’s kind of like Gundam’s little mascot) That wasn’t just some rando, you’ll see who he’ll become soon enough!

If you watch our channel you will see we love old stuff. To us it's better than the new. I hope to continue on our Gundam journey
You boys should check out War in the Pocket! It's short and sweet but still manages to pack a huge punch.

Lucifer's death is always one step too far for me >.

What's with subtitles they're not matching up
It's the subtitle track of the sub, it's saying the same thing but not the exact same translation as the dub.
Pink mentality......
