    Got to comment on here, Bob your amazing for your age, I’m mid sixties, and have a broken back with nerve damage, and two really crappy knees, mostly due to a working life on the coal faces of English coal mines. Most of us are dropping to bits one way or another. Lol.
    I won’t grumble I’ve so much to give thanks to the good Lord Jesus Christ to dwell on negative things.
    I’ve been riding bikes since 1976 and only last year in a last ditch attempt to stave off hanging up my helmet I’ve bought a 2011 Suzuki Burgman 650 executive. Love the ride I just wish it weighed less for garage and parking, my legs are very wobbly.
    You take care and God Bless you and yours. Dave

    Seems all the folks on the scooter forum are old ....uh, I mean mature adults.
    That was a beautiful ride Bob. I've looked at the B200, but just haven't bit the bullet yet. I'm still on the Kymco AK 550 for now.
    I love those rural country stores. Looked like a great day. I need to get up that way again and pay you a visit. It ain't that far from Birmingham.
    Thanks for another great upload.
    Edit: That road looked familiar. I road it about 12 or so years ago on a Silverwing scooter going from Cherokee NC down to Warner Robbins, Ga. then home.

      I have no idea , I bought that in the early 2003 to go on my new Burgman 650 and got the wrong size so I had to get the same thing in a larger size. It set in the box for all these years , but was the perfect match for the 200.

    My grandfather, Comer Saxon, owned that Sunrise grocery back in the 80s. Always good for a free candy bar and Coke for me. I guess you could say I had 'connections'. lol

    Nice place for apple pie! Woke up about 3 AM because I'm getting over a cold. Wasn't feeling great, picked up my phone and saw you had just posted. Just what I needed in the middle of the night, thanks. My mom is your age and has that same issue with her feet. Like you, she is a young 80 but that dang nephropathy may mean the end of driving. Nice thing about a scoot is you are using your hands for everything🙂 A week from today I'll be in your neighborhood. I'll buy you lunch or go for a ride if you want. Note: 25 MPH is fast for me, so keep that in mind. I have a total of 30 miles under my belt, 15 or so in my own yard. I'll be there for three days. Too short, but it's a long drive and I have to be back at work.

      John, since you already have OFFROAD experience (your back yard) I have picked out some steep mountain trails over on Big Frog Mountain next to the big BEAR den. Maybe they haven't woke up yet from their winter hibernation...If so you might want to get that bike up a little past 25 mph...! Looking forward to your visit..Old Chainsawbob

    Bob, I just replicated your ride on a route planner. Blue Ridge, headed south on 60, picked up 180 and on to the Russell Scenic Hwy. That's like 110 miles round trip. You are a BOSS!!!! How long did the trip take you to do? At my top speed of 25 mph, that would be a long ride🙂.

    • @chainsawbobnichols
      @chainsawbobnichols  2 роки тому

      The ride was about 4 hrs total and it took me another 6 hrs to get the video ready and post. , so I got to bed about 3 am. ... !

    • @chainsawbobnichols
      @chainsawbobnichols  2 роки тому

      Thanks, You need to get that "Top Speed " up a few MPH to about 50 . I will be glad to take you on that trip next summer . The route you saw on your planner would take about 5/6 hours . I sure enjoyed out meeting and ride last summer...! Old Chainsawbob

    You may have a video on this scooter I haven’t seen, but can it maintain speed going up mountain roads?? Thanks

    • @chainsawbobnichols

      It can handle most , it has about 19HP and I weigh about 250 lbs. It's really the perfect scooter for my riding and I love it. I have had two Burgman 650s both new . A 2003 the first year they came to USA and A 2009 . They were great but too heavy for this old man , so I DOWNSIZED . I never like the riding positon on the 400, but thats just me...! If I were too replace it it might be a Yamaha 300 scoot..!

      @@chainsawbobnichols thanks for your reply. I’ve been looking at Hondas until I saw your videos. I live in the North Carolina mountains, and I’ve been told I need at least 250 cc.

      @@bertandjo A 200 Burgman would do just fine. Also the Yamaha 300 , but it weigh's more. I live near Murphy N.C. are you close ? Maybe we could ride ..? Old Chainsawbob
