🇺🇲 Hello from Vermont my brother. I've been involved with loving music and audio gear for over 40 years and I bought the Heco Aurora 300 4 months ago and I love them. It did take me 260 hours for break in. But when they did, hang on friend's. Love your videos, keep up the great work. 🇺🇦
Thanks! I got a demo pair, so I assume they already have hours on them!
Always great videos. Thanks! Watching from Richmond,IL

Hi Bob , very good and revealing rewies, good stuff and attitude to hifi and music !!!
Gracias, Amigo!
Northwest Austin, enjoying my hometown audio reviews
Watching from Prescott Az. They look promising 4 sure. Rock on Bob.
Yes..! Watching from Nijmegen The Netherlands and a Heco listener for about 8 years! Love your video's!!
Thanks! Which Hecos do you have?
@@UnitedStatesofAnalog I'm now owning a pair of Heco Aleva 400 with the sub of the same series. Came on the market in 2007. Before this set I owned a pair of Celan Revolution 7 but did not liked them at all. Way to boring for my taste. I Started the hobby in 2017 with a Dolby 7.2 system of the Victa series. Got stuck to the brand because of the voicing. i'm very happy with the Aleva's, they just have it all for me and are here to stay!! ;)
Hello Bob! Greetings from Montreal, QC, Canada! Love your channel!
Thank you so much! I have a good friend in Montreal, but I've never been! I need to remedy that! Is there a good record store there?
Watching in the Philippines again! Im thinking I'll have to buy these speakers based on your review. Thanks, Bob!
You, Randy and Kevin @skylabsaudio are easily my favorite audio YTers! Keep up the great work.
Ps- Listening from Webster Groves (St. Louis), MO.
Wow, thanks! Thats pretty good company to be in!
Bob this is too funny! I have been a faithful listener to your morning show for years. I kept hearing about this UA-cam channel of yours and stumbled upon it by accident. About a year ago I upgraded my entire setup to Heco after hearing the rave reviews for its price point. I have Aurora 1000’s up front along with 300’s for surround and the matching center channel.
Oh and dual Rythmik FV15HP’s. These speakers are fantastic coming from Klipsch before which were too bright for my liking. They are a true joy to listen to not fatiguing at all. Great review and channel keep up the great work!
Discovered Randy when looking for speakers a couple years back. Wish I had known about these back then. Still happy with my Emotiva B1+ and KEF Q150s. He turned me on to your channel too. Always look forward to what you got next.
Great review , Bob. Corning , NY here.
I love Corningware! I wish they made speakers!!!
I just ordered a pair from Audio Advice (currently out of stock) on Amazon used for $199 free ship. I can’t believe it. I’m totally stoked. 😅 Portland Oregon here friend.
Let me know what you think when you plug them in to you system!
@@UnitedStatesofAnalog a different speaker than I’m used to, but…it’s got a natural timbre and instruments sound real, with all the resonance, tone, and weight of the studio recording. Very well detailed but the presentation is lush in the best vintage hifi tradition. Soundstage and imaging are impressive and satisfy my search for a spacious big sound. I don’t miss my years of bright speakers, mostly studio monitors and my Paradigm mini monitor V.5’s. There is more to life than laser like clarity. It’s like comparing the sound of a modern hot rod rice rocket to a ‘60s American muscle car. Only one goes blub blub blub …gimme that phat ride! That’s my take on the Aurora 300’s.
Watching from Grand Rapids Michigan
Raleigh, NC checking in!
You have been pinned!
I keep hearing this speaker sounds amazing. Thanks for your review. I'm going to have to find a place to have a listen.
Yeah, for sure! Looks like they are difficult to find right now. Probably my fault! Thanks for the watch!
@@UnitedStatesofAnalog I'm sure you helped, but I have seen a few people saying good things about those speakers. My problem is I want to build a Atmos system. They don't have height speakers so I wouldn't know what would sound good with them❓ Klipsch, Polk, etc.
I own these, same color as well. I like them a lot.
I'm listening in from the Cayman Islands. I really enjoy your channel. My daughter has subsctibed as well after I sent her your review ofvrge AT cartridge. She has one. Keep up the good work. - Roy T.
I want Heco's 300 as desktop speakers, great video thanks Bob.
They are quite large and heavy (much more so than I expected) and they need to be placed a good distance from the wall because of the rear port. I don't think they would work well as desktop speakers. I intended to place them in wall mounted hangers like my Sony CSS5's but the Heco 300's were way to heavy and deep to do that. I ended up placing each speaker on a stack of three 8x8x16" concrete blocks for now.
Wow what an awesome looking speaker and sounds like it’s a winner in the audio quality department 👍 will be putting these on my short list
Sorry I was a little off on the price!
Watching from Tennessee. Those are really nice looking. I didn't know you were cool with CheapAudioMan! I watch him as well. Maybe why I was referred your videos. I sure love algorithms! Great review!
love my 300s matched with the 700s and run 2 RSL subs and it’s amazing
Bob, you’re everywhere! I watched this, then wow there were again! Best of luck with this video. I’m impressed you found these more preferable to the LS50 metas. That’s a $1500 speaker so these must be something especially for that price.
300s are just flat easier to listen to for long periods! Your mileage may vary! Thanks!
UK here. Loving the look and sound of these and just might have to pick some up at some point.
Hey, UK! It looks like they are still out of stock on the 'zon! WTF! Thanks for watching!
Really enjoying your channel. Your very creative and definitely doing things differently and the sane goes for these Heco speakers, i love their design. Very unusual and beautiful like you me, i mean you.
Thanks for the kind words!
Thank you for your review of these great speakers. Papercone speakers have a special sound, I like much. Greetings from Germany 👍
Love from Singapore!
New sub here! Love the speaker review. Would love to see some reviews on anything wireless, soundbars, vs a wired 2.1 system to start. I'm suffering from analysis paralysis. Need something to listen to movies to, so was considering a soundbar system like a JBL Bar system, but audiophiles tell me to go traditional wired 2.1 with something like a Fosi amp, some bookshelves and a good sub. Especially since I would listen to rap and rock sometimes. Anyways, keep up the good work. I can see you gaining lots of subs soon!
I am NOT a soundbar fan! I currently use Klipsch The Fives for my Sony TV system. It has some flaws, but generally it gets the job done! Thanks!
I just ordered the 700s (floor standing). Based on you, Randy, and several other channels recommendations. I finally pulled the trigger, and I can’t wait! I appreciate the advice and content. Much love from a fellow Austinite! 👊
Fantastic!
love my 700s you’re gonna be really happy and get an external amp to make them sing!
@@Mforce712 I’m running a Project Perspex 6 SB into a Project Tube Box into a 2 channel Marantz…sounds like heaven in my living room. Thanks for the review.
Enjoy the videos. Rockville, MD
Thank you for your opinion. I respect you very much. I plan to buy a pair of these speakers in the very near future. Russia, Samara.
Hey there, this is Tommy, tuning in from Newcastle, NE U.S.A.

Great stuff 👍
Hello from Indiana. Heck speakers seem to always get good reviews.
Heco
Watching from Wake Forest, NC.
My very very very first speakers from a hifi shop were Heco Interior Reflex standmounts. They were great sounding speakers for their time (early 90s) and they still reside in my attic alongside several old Castle Speakers I cant bear to throw out.
Good to see Heco making a bit of a resurgence. Some of their less conventional designs are lovely.
The Direkt range look super cool. Retrotastic. Or should that be Retrotastik ? Its a technical term.
Incidentally currently watching in Zell am See, Austria. Testing my old bones on skis.
interesting, Cool take *thumbsup*...now lets get those scented candles.
I got a set of the 700's for my tv room. Paired them with an SVS sub. They're perfect. Very well made for the money.
Hey Bob
Enjoyed your review
Pin Nash county NC
I have a pair, and my dad has a pair one running on aiyima amp and the other on the smsl ao300, and they're fantastic speakers
I am with you on most of what you say - the drivers look to be very good, and I think the woofer is a bit larger than you stated - they say 170mm which is about 6.5" nominal.
Soundstage depth is a very good thing. Non-fatiguing is a very good thing.
Hello from Miami, FL 🌴
Watching from Miami, Florida
From Canby, Oregon. Traded a guy of a pair of Tekton Lore's for cash and a pair of Heco 300 in Ebony. I would agree with your take on these. I think also the paper cone and silk dome is to me tonely very nice.

Watching from Ranburne, Alabama.
Very nice. These look like good contenders! I’m on the hunt for speakers and an integrated this year, and there’s just so much out there. I’ve been looking at GoldenEar BRXs, Magnepans, Klipsch, JBL, etc.
Then there’s stuff like this, ELAC, etc. on the lower end of the price range that probably does 95% of what the big boy stuff does. But I’ll always wonder about that last 5%. So the sickness begins…
Hello from Middle of British Columbia sir!

Checking in from Arlington, VA...Randy sent me.
Randy is the King! Long live the King! Welcome!
Hello from Lafayette, Indiana.
They make me think of my Wharfedale Diamond 2.0 speakers in light oak with a white face in my secondary system I am listening to right now. They are smaller but i really love them and think they are exceptional for the money. But I do like those HECOs too.
right? Very similar to the white oak Diamond 2.0s. Id noticed the same and had that thought
Hi y’all from El Paso Texas
Thanks! 📌 dropped!
Hello from Ukraine
Greetings from Austin Texas USA!!! Appreciate you watching my videos! Stay safe, my friend!
The speakers look two feet deep positioned like that. I like 'em.
Bob I LOVE YOUR SHOW and how you think about this stereo bullshit that I hear on the web. I'm old school at the age 64 and I miss the stereo stores. Thanks for being straight up and honest.
Baraboo, WI. I’ve been thinking about these speakers for a while but really want to hear them first. It seems like people who like them, LOVE them. Other reviews say they are dull or unexciting. It’s so hard to tell without hearing them.
I know what you mean! Lots of opinions, and everyone hears differently. I see that Audio Advice has a 30 day return, though, so that might help. I did notice that they don't take returns on Demo items (just in case you find a Demo deal), but that is understandable.
Thanks
I tried these speakers several months ago and too forward or somewhat shouty to me. I prefer something like an Elac Debut Reference, Kef Q150 or anything Emotiva.
Great video. Everyone has different ears and different gear..
Hey, from South Africa.
Welcome to the channel!
In case anyone is curious, if you bypass the passive crossover and use a minidsp as the crossover, the tweeter on this speaker can easily work with a 1500hz 8th order LR crossover. You can also put a slight delay on the tweeter for time alignment.
This takes this speaker to the next level. I also think it’s amazing that the tweeter cutout is a standard 104mm so you can put something even better in there if you want to but it’s not really necessary.
I don’t know what they are talking about with “perfect dispersion” because it has some significant beaming at higher frequencies like every other large dome tweeter.
Linköping, Sweden is my spot!
Since you like traditional vintage speakers with paper cones, have you tried testing and refurbing a vintage AR2ax pair. They are everywhere. Typical refurbs including refoaming the woofer, new caps in the cross over, de-oxing the pots, and sometimes subbing a new tweeter (Hi-Vi from Parts Express with an inductor). I refurbed mine and they are better than Lintons IMO. Cheers on the new channel.
I wish I had that skill set! I found a pair at goodwill once for $20... but, alas, they were too far gone! Thanks!
I just reformed / recapped a pair of AR-5's (theoretically a notch above the 2aX, dome midrange, really very similar).... harder to find than the super great 2aX. But I still want to try a pair of these Hecos, though ; ). For one thing, the Aurora 300 is relatively small (compared to vintage AR's we have mentioned) and VERY efficient.
Forgive the second comment, but your thoughts on soundstage reminded me of Paul McGowans "The Audiophiles Guide". It comes with a cd which allows you to dial in your speakers to maximise all that stuff. Ie it has the same track with vocals which should be 6 feet in front of the speakers, in line with, and 6 feet behind. I found it really useful and quite uncanny when it all comes into focus. A handy tool, whatever you think of PS Audio.
Greetings from Greece Europe.
The up model from this the Heco celan revolution 3 is crazy good for the money. They weren’t even really setup properly and put out a sound that made me think the entire wall was a speaker. Heard them @ Audio Advice last year. Almost bought them. Glad I didn’t bc I wound up with sonus Faber towers I’ve been dying for recently but had I not those were at the top of my list.
I like the vibe of these. They're about the same as the UK retail price of the AE100 I've been looking at, but getting those in the states costs an extra $100. These might be a chill alternative.

Hi Bob. New subscriber to your channel and newbie audiophile on a budget. Your review of the Heco Aurora 300s convinced me to pick up a pair for my first system. Question... does the base driver normally sound a bit "loose" or "Boomy" ? I have them a good 18-24 inches from the wall. I can eq the bass down but then i don't get the base punch that you and others have noted that these speakers provide. One reviewer noted that the paper driver may be the cause. Sorry so long-winded... your thoughts? Thanks in advance buddy!
They, I think they play like a 80's style speaker. Which is what attracted me to them. Maybe some break in time is required. Mine we demos, so they had some time on them when I got them!
Lexington, Kentucky!
I recently picked up older Arcam integrated amplifier that was real cheap and I was curious about it on our local marketplace and it included a pair of German made vintage Canton speakers that I was not familiar with and it has really opened my eyes or I should say ears on how good they are.. needless to say, my Cornwall’s and my Forte’s are now in the back room not being used..
They were a real nice older couple and were from Germany and they brought everything over from there..
This Heco has peaked my interest of German gear as well. Turns out they are not just good at car making! Thanks for the support!

Do you know Ed H. from Chicago?

I just pulled the trigger on a pair at that price. I've sent a couple of pairs back within the past few months that didn't suit my listening taste. These 300's are not going back. They have the magic... Detail, soundstage, imaging and bass are all fantastic. They're even worth the $419 asking price. At $315, even better..
Congrats
Great Review man !!
My Elac B5,2 are Very Analytical and not emotional feeling ,, maybe this Heco solve this ?
I think so! Elac requires good break in time! How much time you got on them?
i don't thing so , i bought them 8-9 moths ago ,,, they are very good for Jazz , acoustic , classical e.t.c. , but they cant Rock ,, my Amp is Denon 600 , and Argon Solo Streamer

Welcome! Thanks!
My true love for music when i was 8 yrs old. My Mom always had a radio on. I had a voice, and i played bass- fiddle .
I was born and raised in Everett Washington . Till 2022 now living in Arizona. Enjoy your videos. The 70s i would read stereo magazines & purchased a marantz stereo system
I listed to radio to and from school! Now I've been working in it for 35 years. Weird!
Mr. Analog...!!! Reporting for duty from Taiwan, sir...!!!
I must admit I'd no idea about then. Thanks. Have you tried Fyne Audio from Scotland in the UK. Setup in I think 2017 ex Tannoy engineers. Got a pair of the 300i love them. Only 200€ in a sale.

You were talking about the old JBL's... I have an original pair of L100's and a pair of L36's that I would part with unless my life depended on it. Even then, I would have to think about it a bit. LOVE LOVE my old JBL's. The bad thing about mine, though, is that the grills and grill frames are missing. Buying new ones are awfully expensive. Any links to a reasonable place to buy them would be appreciated. Also where to buy the round foam for the tweeter.
