Mawzky is just insane man. He plays like a Game Theory Optimal 1v1 Bot. Everything he does is just perfect, he dots every i and crosses every t. Every shot, every 50, every recovery, every dash. Just so calculated and executed to perfection.

RIGHT??? That's exactly how I had described him in my head as well. It's like I'm watching a super-optimized version of Nexto, who second-by-second is making the perfect neural-network prediction that leads to the best outcome.
I was realizing during the last couple games, that I think the reason for that is because Mawkzy is so incredibly experienced in 1v1, he has a perfectly tuned sense for the strength of his and the opponent's positioning. He keeps the ball out of reach of his opponent for as long as they have the potential for a counterattack, and as their position slowly deteriorates, he eventually pushes more until he scores. If he misplays or the opponent does something excellent to relieve the pressure, then he keeps the ball farther away, keeps a stronger hold on the possession, and doesn't commit as hard. It's pretty incredible to watch unfold.

Players usually look like this when they win every kickoff so hard. What we're seeing is boost superiority, and it does kinda make the defenders look much worse. But there may be no better kickoff converter in the game right now than Mawkzy, and it's now on the other top 1s players to grind up to that lvl, otherwise they will get lose badly to people like mawkzy

For people asking for an exact transcript of the in-game chat:
Zen - Just stop with the attitude (not sure what he's refering to)
    Mawkzyy - Just shut up.
    Mawkzyy - You're always whining.
    Mawkzyy - Play.
Mawkzyy - Or just decline the invitation to the tournament.
    Zen - Wait.
    Zen - Pause.
Mawkzyy - It's too much for real.
    Mawkzyy - It's a 1v1 tournament
Zen - Return my scrims invites you little shit.
    Zen - we can play.
Mawkzyy - In 3v3, I heard you have 1000hrs. (Not sure if that's what he means exactly)
    Mawkzyy - 10000hrs.
    Mawkzyy - Lolll
    Zen - Shut up.
    Zen - You're a nobody.
    Zen - RLCS ?
    Zen - ah, no.
    Zen - We can play.

The attitude is referring to the fact that mawkzy typed "gg" in quick chat twice at the START of game 4, and I think the thing about 10000 hours is saying "Of course you want to challenge me at 3v3 instead, you have 10k hours". thanks for the translation!

Dude you literally wrote Mawkzy was better in everything, that immediately rendered everything you said as delusional fanboy statements. I never said Mawkzy was better at everything. I called YOU out for saying that. You're someone who doesn't see that by far the reason mawkzy won tournament was kickoff domination and NOT other forms of domination, and yet you claim to be an older player. If anything mawkzy would probably end up top 4 rather than 1st if he won 50 % of kickoffs, so it's a wild stretch that mawkzy was "better at everything". It comes back to how 1v1 works; whoever wins kickoffs, gets ball and boost and can dominate the scoreboard even against a better opponent. That's why the 1v1 tournaments needs all players to be extremely polished on kickoffs, otherwise it's just not gonna be competative, e.g. this tournament

@chaelsonnen7947 literally everything you said is opinions. There's nothing wrong with that, but I would have to totally disagree. The "best player" is all subjective and opinionated, so it's kind of pointless to discuss. Zen is currently the best player because of how successful he is in pro play and always looks like the best player on the field. Skill wise? No one plays like Zen or how well he reads the game or how easy he is to play with anyone, and the list goes on. Granted, Mawkzy is way better than 1s player, then Zen, but Mawkzy also grinds 1s religiously, whereas Zen doesn't. Also, with a series, the outcome doesn't decide who's better it only decides who is better on that day. Mawkzy was at an incredible form, whereas Zen didn't look like the same player when he played Rw9.

When 3v3 pros got some time off they hop on over in 1v1 mode and get close to winning it despite mawkzy maining it 100 % of their time. Why do so many players just completely avoid, and are unwilling to change their kickoffs? It can be so frustrating to watch knowing that something seeminly so simple as to switch up your kickoff and keep your opponent guessing just never happens. At the same time, I could never dream of playing at this high of a level under pressure in a stressful situation, so maybe their brains just default to muscle memory or what they are most comfortable with.

What did mawkzy and zen say during game 4 ( the first one )

    • @tomwild7532
      @tomwild7532 11 місяців тому +2

there argument in the start of game 4 was something along the lines off zen saying he has 10,000 hours in 1v1 and that he is a nobody. mawkzy saying something about he doesn't say that to zen about 3v3 and that its a 1v1 tourney and he always cries. rough translation

Johnny: Zen is saying that Mawky has 10k hours in 1v1
Zen: so stop pretending you’re the boss
      Mawkzy: shut the f*ck up
Mawkzy: all you do is whine
      Mawkzy: play
Mawkzy: or just refuse the tournament invite
      Zen: wait pause
      Mawkzy: that’s too much bro
      Mawkzy: it’s a 1v1 tourney
Zen: try and ask me again for scrims at midnight f*cking dipsh*t
Mawkzy: in 3v3 nobody tells you you have 10k hours
      Mawkzy: wtf LMAO
      Zen: shut the f*ck up
      Zen: you’re nobody
      Zen: rlcs?

Mawkzy's playstyle is just too good against the others'. He's zooming around like Pikachu using Agility. Nwpo is zoomy as well, but Mawkzy is just better and more consistent at it. Trk is a trickster, but he can't outtrick Mawkzy because he never loses his confidence. Rw9 likes to defend reactively, letting the enemy come to him, then defending it and counter-sniping; but you can't defend against Mawkzy unless you go at him proactively and stop him before he even starts. Zen loves the aggressive flashy mechanical play but never gets the space to do so when Mawkzy is behind the ball 100% of the time. Mawkzy's main talent is his ability to keep maximum confidence and get into the zone so quickly. (Compare Daniel who is also quite fearful when he gets into the zone, but has a hard time getting there and doubts himself quickly.) Even making it entertainment for his stream audience is a perfect example of his confidence. It's weaponized arrogance, lmao
