Love this also another reason that ground first touch it's so important is that you're never going to get a chance to have space for an air dribble if you can't create the space on the ground
Good vid man, you clearly have skill. I have about 500 hours of practice since beginning to approach this game with more scrutiny regarding its physics. I’ve got an understanding for pretty much everything (i.e. how and why things work) but still struggle with momentum control and input accuracy+efficiency. And of course game sense but that’s its own beast. Anyways, the way your car moves looks way different than mine and your resets are way stickier than mine. I think it’s because of the input accuracy/efficiency and momentum/boost control.
Id love to hear some of the results you've come to I used to be really into freestyling so I kinda developed a non comp style of getting resets and only recently have I been trying to relearn them its cool hearing others doing pretty much the same thing with this game o7
@@Kingjaybail one thing I can say for certain is flick mechanics. It seems that flicks are the culmination of lots of micro touches when you use your flip. The ball isn’t actually rolling off your car, instead you’re getting dozens of hits within one motion and each microhit is transferring momentum from your car to the ball. The “mawkzy flick” is the best way to visualize this in my opinion. The longest distance on a fennec for example is the diagonal from the back corner to the opposite front corner. The mawkzy flick utilizes this diagonal length since you’re doing a backwards diagonal flip, and you can add more speed by cancelling it. The fastest I’ve gotten with this flick was 78mph from a quarter field away. This also explains why dominus/batmobile/F1 cars are the king of flicks because they’re longer. More opportunities for micro hits to transfer momentum This is also why going for power touches with the corner of the car is more consistent. As we know, making contact with the ball causes recoil on your car, thus turning your car slightly midair (also slows your car down). Using the flat front on the ball and getting that recoil ends up causing a microscopic touch after the initial impact that’s slowing the ball down
@@Kingjaybail I’m also convinced that reaching supersonic initiates a very brief impulse of speed that’s greater than the supersonic limit. I think this because mawkzy flicks look consistently stronger when your flip is what’s making you supersonic versus releasing the flick after you’re supersonic For reference, I’ve been training mawkzy flick in the popular musty flick training pack for at least 300 hours
Personally thought you were going for the post when you were bounce dribbling haha till you said you sucked and missed :P great video, helps me learn because it looks like me playing
Can you make a video of how to flip reset without Airroll left/right? the way you do it looks so easy like its just programmed but its different on other controls i think
Plan on doing a first touch vid myself. It’s probably one of the most essential mechanics of Rocket League at any level.

W vid as usual
Underrated UA-camr. Thanks for the in depth explanation! Hope you get the subs you deserve mate
Hey man keep making more of these, super helpful
Hey, great video, you explain things in a very clear way and with nice pedagogy !
This was very helpful man, thanks

Nice tutorial, I like how you break down the concept of momentum.
It was something I never really saw mentioned glad someone else saw use in it lol
what is your camera settings? good video!
Loved the video and the topic. Got you another sub 🎉
I see you western kentucky controller

Do you mean with only the free air roll or with no air roll?
"steop" lmao
Fixed it
What's Steop 3?
just playing :)
Steop 3 spellchecking software :P
U definitely play apex legends
Can you coach me?
