    "If you build it, they will come." Congrats on the new property! You started a YT channel to inspire others to garden and my oh my, inspire you did! You have made such a difference in the world from your corner of the world. I'm so thrilled for you and Aaron. You share your wisdom, enthusiasm, garden, family and big heart with all of us and we are so grateful. I'm ready to come to a future workshop - just name the day. Omg you are so right. When I garden now I think about the four different Colours Laura talks about. Makes such a difference to your garden. I an trying to work out where to put a black lace Elderberry. Also my pots have a spiller, filler and a thriller. All learn’t from Laura and I am in Australia. So she has changed the world. Congratulations on the new property Laura and Aaron.

      Completely agree! I have changed the way I garden this year, adding in way more flowers including some I’ve never heard of. Just finishing digging out a new garden area (my back!😩) to plant 30 dahlias, sunflowers, and other flower seeds for cuttings. Plan on giving out flower bouquets to everyone. Still have veggies, but plan on having fun with flowers (forget shrubs and trees, too many elk and deer to contend with). Thank you Laura and Erin from Floret, who I discovered through Laura.

I first noticed this in part 1 garden tour. He loves watching your cats! When I started watching part 2 my cat heard your opening line " HI there how's it going?". He jumped up on my bed and sat at the end of the bed and watched intentively. It was so cute when he would see the cats! He would get all excited! When they walked out of the camera view he lepted off the bed and went around the TV to see if they were there. Just thought I'd share that with you all. With blackberries, you should be able to bend a Cane down either into the soil or fill a pot. Keep it weighed in and after a few weeks it will root. Once it starts to send up a new shoot, just cut it off the mother plant. Be A good way to fill that bed as well.

      That's where I had found it. But don't recall the creator's channel name as it was quite some time ago. But I'm sure he isn't the only one with a video. He also sells starts as part of his nursery business. Didn't know they would be as easy as multiplying strawberries. Guess I really should have known that lol. As they do take over in the wild. Blackberries are my favorite. Especially preserves and jams. Make some homemade French bread 🥖 or biscuits, some wonderful salted butter and blackberry jam...just fantastic!!!

    • @Gigi-fv9ky
      @Gigi-fv9ky 2 роки тому

      With blackberries, you could probably just dig up a piece of a root and plant it and it will grow. Where I am , Himalayan blackberries are the worst thug imaginable and impossible nearly to get rid of. I realize the cultivars are much better behaved, but I imagine they still will grow from a root cutting.

I feel like YEARS down the line, these 3 properties are going to be one of the "great gardens" garden enthusiast will put on their bucket list to see in person. That is, if you ever decide to open your garden up for visitors. I feel like you mentioned not wanting to do that a ton, but also wanting to something like that once or twice. Maybe I just heard what I wanted to hear. Either way, I'm crossing my fingers this space will be the start of Aaron's epic adventure into composting. Really enjoy all of the plant info. in your videos, I learn so much!! I can see your property becoming a destination for walking tours. So peaceful and beautiful, something our world desperately needs. With my gardens (on a much tinier scale), they each had a name according to their purpose, a special plant, or a feeling they evoke. It would be really cool to name each of your gardens by a special name- like the secret garden, promenade, or wherever creativity leads. My now adult children still know the names of those gardens! I really enjoy seeing how you include your children in your gardening adventure. Generational gardeners are a blessing! One of my adult children even started a community garden in their own neighborhood. Makes a mother proud for sure! Thank you again for all that you share.

      its SO HOT in Florida...I am here too....trying to get everything out of pots...did you happen to hear what she is putting in the holes for the dahlias? I am planting mine in 9a in the fall.....thank you

      @@blissbliss3531 Hi Bliss, Laura predrilled the holes and put in a handful of Espoma fertilizer in each.
      I'm not sure if she put in a little compost, as well, but it won't hurt.
      Good luck with your Dahlias. Where in 9a do you call home?

    Thank you for sharing your gardening knowledge and skills and doing what you do Laura and Aaron. I’ve been a fan of Garden Answer way back when you guys had a dog, and before Benjamin and Samantha Grace were born. I’m always watching for the cats to add their own bits of entertainment. ^*^ I’ve created an orchard, several perennial gardens, raised beds for vegetables and this year I’m trying to grow dahlias and ranunculus for the first time.
    A game changer was composting and amending the clay soil with cardboard. I love that you are trying this in your new flowerbed. Seriously, the payoff is golden. The soil will surprise you at how well it responds to cardboard. And It’s a no-brainer to give the cardboard back to the soil.
    You give so many tips to us, and I will share one of mine. I have a designated area behind a shed, where I place cardboard that I save. Cardboard begins to break down being outside in the elements and it’s easier to place around existing plants after it’s had time to weather a bit and becomes pliable. I try to always have a stash on hand for newly created beds that are now popping up all over the yard. Thank you for your inspiration.
    I’m excited to see what will be added to the “newer new” property. Congratulations. This is exciting.

    Everything is looking lovely. Looks to be another intersting year to unfold. So many exciting things going on in your garden. Love your videos , inspires and pushes me to do more in my own flower beds and garden area. And Aaron's trees are fantastic! Makes a person take notice of their own space and what more they could do for it. Thank you for that. Congrats on the new piece of land. Hopeful Aaron will do a video on the steps of the compost area if he decides to do one. Would be interesting and helpful information for sure. Thanks for the tour, so lovely to get to see how things are doing. Inquiring minds and all that, lol. Feel very blessed to have found your vlog. 🌷🌲💜
