Thanks for sharing your experience Brad. I haven’t been bow hunting nearly as long. In my own experience I’ve found the perfect balance for me is about 440-460gn out of a 28” DL 70lb bow. I have had a couple not pass through but that was because I buried them into the thickest part of the scapula with mechanicals on quartering away shots. I used 550gn for a season and had a few instances that led me to reduce my arrow weight back to 440-460. I do a fair amount of stalk hunting on public land and a lot of my shots are 30yds+. Had multiple deer not only jump my arrow with the heavy setup, but had enough time to completely dodge the arrow. The velocity difference was substantial. It also messed with me “eyeballing” different ranges since the pins were way further apart. If I was shooting

Thanks for taking time to watch and comment. Stalking deer on public ground is a tough gig. My hat is off to you. Congratulations on your 73 yard doe harvest. That's a poke. I'm glad you found a set up that works well for you. I wish you continued success. Good luck this fall in the deer woods.
