I changed my 2001 Ford Ranger fuel filter. Pulled the fuse associated with the fuel pump while the engine is running before working on replacing the fuel filter to release pressure on the fuel line. After installing the new fuel filter I turned the key to ON primes the fuel pump for just a few seconds... Then, start the engine. Voila! Thanks for posting! I'm going to replace my fuel filter on my 1999 Chevy Prizm LSi. Same factory that rolled out your Toyota Corolla. Have 248,966 on her. You? Peacefully stay, -Jeff
@@kmook76 fuel economy may have gone up but I also changed the spark plugs and wires along with a new distributor cal. This was maintenance I have been putting off.

@@kmook76 Unfortunately I totaled my car back in February when snow storm Uri hit Texas! So never attempted the fuel filter fix on it
