- Otto Hightower's secret plan is Alicent's hidden son, one we have not seen yet. For more than three decades, while the Targaryens enjoyed power and pleasures, and while their desires were poured out in war, or in dreams and prophecies, one person led the Seven Kingdoms and maintained a prosperity the realm had never seen before. Otto Hightower became the ghost ruler of the last three decades, being responsible for keeping the Seven Kingdoms united, and making the best economic and military decisions for the crown.
But even though Otto Hightower had all the power in the world in his hands, he wanted to ensure that the kingdom would survive his own absence. In the first season of House of the Dragon, we heard Otto say that the gods have not made a man who does not have the patience for absolute power, and perhaps, Otto was reflecting himself in that thought, because Otto is a man who has been in power for over thirty years, waiting for the moment when he can acquire that absolute power.
However, in the second episode of the second season of House of the Dragon, we saw how Ser Otto's plans were ruined, after his grandson started making very bad decisions as king. Could it be that Otto has finally lost all his power? What would you think if I told you that Otto still has a card up his sleeve? Could it be a plan to position a new king? For me it’s just seeing it for what it is….the start of the eventual destruction of the most powerful house! It become a war (like most real life ones) that only led to tragedy for everyone! I am enjoying watching its adaptation to the silver screen but it’s kinda sad too!

I am with Queen Rhaenyra and the Black- She is the rightful heir to the throne. Her father wished it, and made it so. All those who pledged honor to her should keep their oath. And everybody, and I mean everyboday in the Seven Kingdoms knows that Aemon and Aegon are crazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzy. Aemon is a serious alcoholic. Aegon is a hot head. Now, I do like Daeron Targaryen, but, he is softer and more calmer. The King needs a strength of steel, like the brother of King Vasyrus. Dameon is steel. He would have made a great king.

I am with Team Black. It was what King Viserys wanted. Even though he went against the usual tradition of a male heir to the throne.

Daeron is the most cool headed out of the 3 sons so he should work well with Otto for however long that lasts.

Ummmmm Otto didn’t make any decisions outside of usurping the throne. He gave advice and the king made decisions. Nothing about the greens is respectable, even in the book.
Daeron seems like Otto's hidden card in this war against the blacks.

This aged well. Episode 206 Alison asked her brother had he heard from Otto. He mentioned Daeron and they talked about him. I was like whatttt! She has another child? Wow this will be a great plot twist.
I also think Rhaena Valyrian will ride Sheep Steeler who is the dragon hiding in the Vale.
I am with team Black, because of my true love for Rhaenyra. She is the rightful heir and queen. Also, I was extremely touched by the purity of the very complex relationship between Viserys and Daemon. I want, what Viserys would've wanted.
The story writter meant to kill all heir of viseiris, he can make his story a masterpiece If the character of Deron was used well, after all the beautiful qualities that the character possesses, he should have had a greater and deeper role in healing the Seven Kingdoms from the effects of the war, caring for Rhaenyra’s son, and fulfilling the desire of his father the king aegon dream.

@@kingflvko4852 well clearly yk nothing about the books because op is correct they are straying a lot away from the writing in the books its more of a inspiration than an adaption at this point, all be it a very good one. for example in the books both authors can't agree on much that happened but something both of them confirmed is that criston cole was too honorable to dirty his cloak by sleeping with the princess and denied her at which point she then went to daemon/harwin who then slept with her honestly cole is like the euron of house of dragon. they also fcked up aegon's coronation and made him a rpist for some god awful reason. blood and cheese is fine I felt it was good but taking out maelor is really dumb, laenor surviving is also dumb as seasmoke can't be claimed until after he dies, and they tuned the entire house of dragon conflict into rhanaeyra cant be queen because she is a woman whenin the books the entire conflict is about rhaenyra cant be queen because she has a bastard for an heir and would have to 100% kill aegon and his entire bloodline if she hopes for any bastard to sit on the throne in peace. as caitlyn stark said, even if aegon and his children accepted rhanaeyra what about there sons literally any true born targ could challenge for the throne and start a war at any point because the current ruler would be descended from a bastard which would void there claim

It’s sad that the show withholds important characters and their cool ass dragons. I’d love to see him come into the show just because he’s seems to be more down to earth . That and I want to see that dragon on screen.

The Black's rule is also based on a lie, Rhaenyra's son's are from the Strong family and she is keeping that a secret. Alicent sons are Targareins which makes them the original rulers.
The line was coming through Rhaenyra so the father didn't matter which is why she, Laenor, Viserys, and Corlys didn't care about it, only greedy Otto and his brainwashed daughter & her sons. Daemon is a POS going above Rhaenyras orders and killing children
Alicents children are equally only half targeryan. Unfortunately Rhaenyras sons don’t have the white mark of the targeryans. But genetically, a child carry’s more of their mother line than fathers

its not for lack of trying which i think people forget. they tried to have kids but couldnt. her husband was gay and idk if he couldnt perform or he just couldnt for medical reasons. its a moot point anyway. the last thing viserys said was aegon is the future king. not his own son. daemon and rhaenyras 1st kid together aegon the younger or aegon the III. who is purely 100% targeryan (well you know what i mean) rhaenyra was named heir for years and years. and now she has kids with the kings brother and shes heir for years. id say that claim is stronger especially since they have kids now.
Alicent kids are not 100% Targaryan, they same as Rhaenyra's sons, only pureblood targaryan are Rhaenyra and Daemon sons.
