Idk why it warms my heart so much to see a young boy and his mom doing fun things like this together. Reminds me of spending time with my own mom when i was that age
Awwww…..
Ah yes, him and his mom loving doing fun things together 😏
@CrazyPlayzzYT I would've started small, Valravyn, or Rougarou. Then worked my way up. But, I hate when people are too scared to ride some of the best coasters in the WORLD. I would ride Valvaryn first tbh.
I've always tried to be present and have fun with my kids. It's been worth it!
@@CindyOrley I wish i lived near ohio, to go to cedar point. Or even Cali, for Six Flags Magic Mountain. But, all I got is a small theme park you've never heard of.
This is what my dad did, constantly told me that rollercoasters are fun and put me on as many as possible. Cool to see this mum doing that too
When I was that age I was always terrified of going to six flags, cause my dad would force me to go on every coaster lol in retrospect I'm happy that he did
I don't know how I managed to do that, but I did. Perhaps with facts and logic (equating Steel Force at Dorney with the Comet at The Great Escape because both had the same drop angle; I was terrified of first drops for the most part.)
Nope, this wasn't his first rollercoaster at all! We started on the Snoopy coaster when they were little and they built up from there. Now, my son is 18 and daughter is 16, they ride ALL the coasters and I'm slowing down a bit!

I know it's a bit off topic, but your hair must be in really good condition to be blown around like that still look so flowy and untangled at the end! Very impressive!
Hahaha
@@sugarpaw6402 I think it's funny and he's right
I noticed that as well. She has pretty hair.
It must of been a while Andrew, hang in their buddy theres someone out there for everybody.
@@Nick-tz1mz How does complementing someones hair relate to being single?
I honestly just love seeing a mom having fun with their child, it makes me happy :)
Yes, so true! And still love going to Cedar Point with my kids who are teens now! We love quality time having FUN together!
@todelete739I went on some pretty damn scary stuff when i was 9, I didn't even scream out of fear
Thank you for being a rad mom. My dad rode coasters with me for years (we lived 2 minutes away from Islands Of Adventure, and had family 45 minutes from Cedar Point) and made my childhood so incredibly awesome. He taught me to be fearless and brave, and you are doing that as well. Cheers, are thank you for riding on AMERICA'S ROLLER COAST! ;P
Jessi Davin I live 3 hours away im in dublin ohio then u must be in cleveland
Nitrogaming98 Gtr I live near Dublin!
i lived 25 minutes away from islands of adventure
ur so lucky. I live 10 hours away from Cedar point.
I live freaking 18 hours away
the only thing I don't like about those restraints is that you can't have your hands up. they still are very comfortable though.
indeed they are
If you're a stockier guy like myself, those vests rest on your chest the wrong way... I absolutely HATE those restraints but I can see why most others enjoy them. They're too tight on my collarbones.
Jonny Glessner well...I think they are fine but it is hard to breathe
Leonardo Bruzzone Im very skinny so there is alot of space between my chest and that part. meh
Jonny B what is air time?
I think his reaction at the end is exactly what a coaster designer is shooting for.
N
100% lol. a mix of both shock and awe...and of course a desire to want to ride it again
SO TRUE!!! He is too adorable and definitely braver than I am. I was screaming on the other side of the screen. lol
The crazy thing is that he’s 16 now lol
Your better at math than me 😭
My exact thought
was literally just doing the math lmao time flies
He's 16 and I'm just now seeing this
Ya
I'm 13 and scared to get on anything but the iron dragon lmao R.I.P going in August and being forced on every ride. Who wants to plan my funeral?
Don't worry I was scared to death to ride this ride because all I've rid before was the Iron Dragon and Corkscrew but I forced to go on, and after that first drop man I loved it!! You'll be fine, if A 8 year old can ride I think a 13 year old can
Don't worry I'm 9 and I got on every ride valravn was not better than top thril dragster but it was still awesome
sit in middle for the millennium force and when we went for the maverick it took hours so pre pared the raptor if fun the mean streak it being torn down so ride that it's fun it's not scary I'm 12 and rode the dragster it's amazing
ur sick
Me
just don't look down or you're going to feel your soul leaving your body
I legit always feel that feeling, I don’t know how to explain it but this is the best way to say it.
@@natedog8749 yeah. i describe it like: my body feels weightless and it feels like my body will implode but then after im like HOLY THAT WAS AWESOME IM DOING IT AGAIN lol
Not true but I do know where you are coming from
Oml I'm petrified of 🎢
I mean, i’m not scared when i look down... I just go “Oh shit, here we go.”
I love the feeling I had when I went on my first coaster, as soon as I started the lift hill it was like “well crap”
the anxiety i get going up a lift hill is insane...and then it just turns into total delight after that first drop haha
I still have that feeling for most coasters which I consider quite intense
I usually do the Green Lantern oath when I board the train on any coaster I'm scared of. I am a huge DC fan (my favourite parks are Six Flags parks) so it helps.
I have a new born son. This just made me smile because I cannot wait to get my son on his first ever roller coaster it’s going bring tears to my eyes. Beautiful.
My 6 year old girl rode the Millennium Force yesterday while we were at Cedar Point.. BRAVE BRAVE KIDS i have! I would never ever ever have thought of doing such a thing at that age. They'll be COASTERS for life I am sure!
I have an 11 yr old grandson who wouldn't get on a coaster.
I’m 12 and I’m too scared to go on the wooden ride at Knotts 🤡
i cant even go to major parks except sdc
Now do every coaster! Like it’s not boring there😅😅
@@bbueno2009 You are so GP
I've found that the ride varies from side to side- because the wings are so far apart, sometimes one goes up with an upturn, while the other goes down- I found it to be 2 very different rides. Left Side I would say runs smoother.
Cindy Orley and will get the moment I am the moment and I will be there for the meeting and I f the moment but I can get you a new invoice with the meeting is at your house or mine was good?
Gth the meeting
I never rode on the left side only right but is left side more intense cause the right side has no stomach drops
I would agree. It's really 2 different rides I think, as the left side goes up higher on the turns, and on the right side, you feel the sharpness of the banked turns more (if that makes sense). 😊
In my opinion, gatekeeper is the prettiest ride in the park. The coaster over the entrance just looks so good with the light blue and yeah! When i come here im totally riding that one!
A genuine love for roller coasters. That’s not something you see everyday in an 8 year old
If he can do this why can't i 😩
This ride doesn't give you butterflies on the way down it just looks intimidating but it's really smooth
It's a very smooth ride, I'm a huge fan of rollercoaster!! You will be fine , once you try one, you'll be hooked for life, I promise :) :)
cuz ur GP
Saaaaame. My friend wants me to ride Montu at Busch Gardens Tampa and I have the same feeling.
Railfan Andrew Try it! It is a really good B&M invert.
Wow! He did great. I thought he was going to scream, cry, & pass out. That ride didn't have any loops and had the one steep drop but not bad for an 8 yr old. Way to go kid! 👍
I can't tell you how happy this makes me feel seeing a child with an ear to ear smile. Our own children are still too young to master such a coaster but some day..... Thank you for sharing this!
that's what parenting is all about, right? :)
I absolutely love this roller coaster. I think it's one of my favorites at cedar point. Very smooth track. Now I need to go back and ride steel vengeance. That one looks insane.
This ride is amazing. Totally different experiences depending on which side you choose, and whether you ride the front or back seats.
There is something so pure about this. It reminds me of my first time on Magnum when I was his age. What a great video.
That child was braver in that moment than I will be at any point in my life.
I love this!! He seemed to really enjoy it! All of my children started riding coasters young, as their heights allowed. My youngest just turned 9 and was thrilled to learn she is 54” and can go on more coasters this year, lol!
She tall enough to go all roller coaster now because most of the big coaster require you to be 54 inches
What helped with some coasters was seeing all the little kids in line.
@@Computergk91Gaming yes, we ride them all!! 🙌🏼
When you see children have fun and enjoy the ride that adds to the effect!
And here I am passing out in space mountain at Disneyland....
same omg
Steel Nole or we just don’t like coasters tf🤣🤣not everyones the same
@@steelnole3847 yeah...
Madison Borelli then why are you watching coaster videos
Steel Nole y? Is there a problem with that?
This is a very slick coaster...love the aethestics, speed, symmetry and glide!
This is awesome. My mom and stepdad took me to a park years ago. I loved riding the roller coaster. What a cool mom! Your son was very brave and came out a champion!
This coaster is basically The Swarm at Thorpe Park. Obviously a B'N'M. Best coasters IMO. Very comfortable and smooth. Great for beginners like I was just 2 years ago and I'm 31 now 😂
Great for beginners?? I’m nearly crying over this and I’m not even on it
@@jaimelee3295 it is great for beginners
This park is my Mekka... It is right at the very TOP of my bucket list!
I'm 45 now, but my life won't be complete until I have been there and ridden every coaster they have!
Little reminder there buddy ;)
@@kenjeknowsbest Thanks... No need to remind me though. The 3 year old comment I wrote is still valid. I still crave going to Cedar Point. But there are obstacles in my way. I live on the other side of the world, and a careful estimate (because of course I have made estimates regarding this) lands somewhere in the vicinity of $5000-6000, to fulfill my dream.
Not a lot to make a dream come true, and I do have that money, several times over even. But besides being nuts about roller coasters, I'm also an adult, with a wife, and a home, and a job, and all that comes with that.
But if the park still exists (and is still awesome) when I retire, 17 years from now, I will absolutely go!
As an 9 year old.. my love for coasters began nemesis. this is so lovely to see you and him on this already!
Good job little man! It's awesome watching you have a great time in one of my personal favourite rides in the park!
This looks incredibly smooth and fun to ride. Wish I could afford to go in this ;(
it'll be the best 45 dollars you ever spent
Cry
@@magnumman5597 mad?
@@f1nn15 my question is how did you respond that fast
I love this kids reaction! I did my first roller coaster when I was like 10 years old and it was nothing like this and I was scared to death going down a 60 foot drop!
Try a 113 foot drop as my first roller coaster I was scared at first but got over it quickly my first roller coaster was Manta at SeaWorld orlando location
Wow! They sure are brave! When I was their age I would have been terrified to even go near a ride like this. Of course there weren't roller coasters like that back in the mid 60s. Now I am 65 and I will ride anything - the higher and faster the better!
He did great. :) Rode it this year with my son again. It was a lot more fun than I remembered
He’s brave. At his age i don’t think i was capable of doing it.
Same Im 12 and I would never ride that my sister is 8 and she probably would ride it
I was the same age I can handle it
Well I just turned 10 today and found out I was tall enough to ride every thing

The GateKeeper doesn't even Tingle your stomach
neither does the millennium force
Openly Sinning For me it definitely did

+A Cubing Kind of Guy yeah when i go to cedar poiny we r doing coaster bye coaster so gatekeeper will be first😫
+A Cubing Kind of Guy have fun when u go
Seeing wicked twister made my heart melt! I want it back so much
The fact that the video is from 9 years ago and yet the quality is AMAZING
How does her hair still look so nice at the end?? My hair always looks like it went through WWIII when I get off a coaster.
Cedars point is on my buckelist
Greetings from Oslo,Norway
I live 20 mins away... lol
@@WrestlingCentral Lucky lol... I live 3 hours away so it's not too bad of a distance. I just went on Saturday and Sunday... The Maverick was freaking crazy!
Yes! Keep riding the roller coasters. You are so BRAVE!
Thats awesome! teach em young and they'll have a more enjoyable time at the parks with their friends. My wife was my best influence as an adult learning how to have fun on these rides! Although she couldn't get me on Millennium Force years ago, I think I could do it now. We recently went to Dollywood and rode the equivalent of this called the Eagle... rode it front row first ride, it was too cool!
What a brave little kid. My brother is 10 and he could barely ride corkscrew without freaking out
This ride is so freaking fun 😍
yeah! good job kid! Gatekeeper is by far my favorite roller coaster, and I didnt tackle it till i was 12, this kid is so brave
Gosh that Ride was Epic! One of my Favorite Rollar Coasters I've ever riden
I don't understand 🤧 he's 8 years old and I'm 22 years old and I cant even get on a FRIGGEN FERRIS WHEEL 😤🥺😭😭😭😭😭
Last time I got on the Ferris wheel I had a panic attack and had to sit on the middle of the floor on the cart, and wait for us to get down. You are NOT alone in that fear
ferris wheel r scary cuz like when ur on the top and u just sit there and im afraid of heights and u just look down
I literally went on 2 I think even though I’m only 10 years old!
Went on a ferris wheel once. Didn't want to be thought of as a chicken. Was 15. Never again though. It swan liked crazy in the wind. I'm in my 70s now.
This is awesome! The boy looked like he was having so much fun :D reminds me of my first time riding a big rollarcoaster :D
yes my first roller coaster was big and intense Manta at SeaWorld in Orlando and I love roller coasters
Gatekeeper is my personal favorite. Very smooth so it won't jerk your neck around, and also very thrilling!
Damn the sound of the wind and rollercoaster rumbling makes it that much more dope
That boy was definitely better dan me 😂
I would always freak out on a coaster
Going here in a couple of days, wish me luck
Just got a gold pass for me and the boy for rest of this year and 24! Can't wait for our next trip!
We get the gold pass too!
this had to have been the most wholesome thing i have ever watched.
New title: SCARIEST RIDE EVER! DO NOT GO NEAR IT
Why
It's not super extreme. I wouldn't call it forceless like some other people do (there are some decently intense moments), but it's not a very aggressive ride at all.
Why tho, not even that scary
@@A_A610 el toro and Kingda ka is hella more aggressive than gatekeeper
Yeah, that's kind of what I said before.
I might be going to Cedar Point in a few years. Is GateKeeper worth going on? Just curious what you guys think.
How can you watch this video then ask that question?
Its worth it. But top thrill dragster and millenium force, you must ride those. They are awesome.
When I am able to go, I'm definitely doing Millennium Force. Top Thrill Dragster depends on the line. If the line is about an hour long, then I'll probably go on it then. I'm building up for it with going to Valleyfair in a couple of days though. :) thanks for your replies.
its good but the end has such a long wait
Idk if it was long for me only or if its long to get off the coaster for each time
Overall, I'll give it a 7\10 but the 2 best ones are top thrill dragster and millenium force
Yes it is worth the wait
This was my first rollercoaster. Highly suggest it-its super smooth and doesn't go straight down.
The restraints also make you feel safe
I'm going to Cedar Point again in September!! Can't wait! This coaster is always the first ride of the day since it's so close to the entrance! I love this ride!
Be sure to be there before the 6th because that is Wicked Twisters last day… (if you like WT, if you don’t, then doesn’t really matter when in September.)
@@PianoBoyLiam , thanks for the tip, but I'll be there the 17th and/or 18th. Oh, well. 😊
@@rebekahhesketh1220 Dang, well I hope you have a good trip!
that would mean that boy is 17 now
I've ridden this about 10 times since opening day. I tend to prefer the back seat, left side. It was a whole new ride. I agree with you on it being different rides. Which seat do you prefer and what side?!?! Going every Wednesday until it closes!
Hi Lol how’s life 😂

See you August 17th, Gatekeeper. Look forward to more rides on this graceful masterpiece.
How did you get this - did you strap the GoPro on your head backwards? :)
It was for a media day, they had a professional camera installed on the seat in front of us.
+Zickcermacity That's exactly what I was thinking
It was a joke.
Matt Schoenfeld lol
Happy 18th birthday
I can feel his excitement through the screen
It’s sad how the wicked twister is gone, i feel so sad all though i’ve gone to this park before i was born in my moms stomach, it’s so crazy to see how the park has changed. i am here right now actually in line for steel vengeance! favorite ride is top thrill, i’ve gone on every ride and it’s so cool to see everyone else’s reactions! since i live 45 minutes away from the park, you may guess i go often which i do very much.
Like a boss
Would love to see him on steel vengeance lol
Steel vengeance in 2013 was mean streak
I am jealous. They Sure didn't have rides like this when I as growing up. Way to go kid. Ya Got guts. Way to brave that insane roller coaster & Brave goes out to your mom. Way to go.
This coaster looks simply amazing :D
Looks like really fast, I'd fear one of the seats snapping off on a turn.😝
Ok final destination 😂
He's braver than me and i'm 37
i watched this when it first came out and now dude has a house, family, 6 kids, and 8 pets they grow up so fast, this video helped my family out a burning building
damnn
That view of the ride is genius!
I’m going on August 5 and I am exactly 52 inches so I don’t know if I’m gonna be able to get away and I’m 9 1/2
Maybe you'll grow 2" before August. If they have strict requirements then you'll probably have to wait until next year if you're only 52" now.
Wait, is ok if a 8 year old ride this? How come I can’t ride these when I was 8
Americans I guess
Hahahaha lol
Jacob Kim you had to have an Aldult or your parent was to scared or this was not made
Also height
His expression at the end is priceless! So cute.
He had a massive smile on his face lol
Omg I hate roller coasters I would be terrified
O Hell No I would pass out
Izzy StradlinFan there is a math and science behind these roller coasters you would only pass out if these beasts of roller coasters succumbed over 7 Gs. You'll be just fine.
The G0ldenApple - really it's more of an exposure time than just a force, it also depends on the individual and what they're used to. Stunt Pilots experience up to 10 G's and come out of it alright, it's all in the training and technique, plus the individual (obviously someone with heart problems would have a bit more difficulty with it). Coasters aren't anywhere near that though, so like you said, there's no risk if you don't have some kind of heart issue already.
Gatekeeper is actually a pretty chill ride compared to the other ones at Cedar Point.
I really liked that POV and it looks like you both did wonderful riding that!
Wow! I'm amazed. That boy did a lot better than I thought he would.
He's 8 and scared of the gate keeper I'm 7 and I rode the top thirll Dragster

Didn't actually watch the video, but it came across my feed looking at cedar point videos. Two things.
1. I can't believe gatekeeper is that old, over 8 years old now.
2. I can't believe 3.3 million people didn't watch the ride, but watched an 8 year old ride the ride.
Yes, everyone loves watching him ride this coaster! We still love it and go on it at least 3 times every time we go - probably 20 times a season!
Dang I rode this yesterday with my mom and we loved it and think we will do it again today before we head back to Michigan
I went on it when I was seven Bc I thought it was a snoopy ride and went slow ;-;
Now he is 17…
whoa
My daughter is 8 as well and she loves roller coasters Magic Mountain is her favorite place and I love that kid was smiling the whole time

Whats Up Kaden Well, the zip line is way more likely to kill you, so...
