Dude this is my favorite thing to watch animal fights. I'm telling you it is the hardest thing to find. There have been about only 4 total encounters I have found after like 10 years of searching on UA-cam lol. It must be even more rare than people think. It is a CHORE to sift through the endless clickbait and false advertising and bullshit edit jobs that people throw out there. The one other thing I have been endlessly searching for and have never found is a rhino goaring a lion. Horn to the face, full power. Once I see that I can die a happy man

remember that crocodiles, strong and ferocious as they might look, hardly resort to a fight. it's either that they attack only for meal or they retreat immediately from any big threat. only when cornered, theyd swivel around in defensive stance. They always choose to escape from any potential fight if possible

Crocs are exceptional survivors and fighters. They are extremely cunning, ferocious and ruthless. Big cats won't stand a chance.

A tiger and even a jaguar in my opinion, have a better chance hunting a croc than a lion simply due to agility and bite force.
Jaguars are basically leopards on steroid. While weaker than both a lion and a tiger, they are crazy agile so they can dodge and go for a bite to the skull.
*Jaguar bite force 1100 psi.
*Tiger bite force 1050 psi.
*Lion bite force 650 psi.

@@vivekmohan7785 Yeah its relatively the same, which is insane considering the size of the jaguar. They are like muscular ninjas who go for a bite to the skull for a quick kill because they can easily pierce it.
Other cats wrestle with and prefer to go for the neck because that's their quickest way but it's not the most efficient.

@Timothy Kaneki true but Tigers are A) much larger and it was a mugger crocodile that Machli attacked and killed, B) not a saltwater crocodile. African Nile crocodiles can be as nasty and as large as salties.
So... not quite the same thing. There are also records in India of Asiatic lions killing and eating mugger crocodiles - just hasn't been filmed yet. Scrolld down to the "sympatric predators" section -

Has anyone got that bit of footage where a little domestic alleycat stared down a crocodile? And a bit where a flock of pigeons landed and walked among a group of tortoises beside a waterhole then a tortoise lunged and took a pigeon by the throat snd dragged it under the water. I thought tortoises were herbivores but I suppose you’d eat anything if you lived in a swamp.

There’s a video of a domesticated house cat attacking two fully grown alligators and the alligators runaway.
That is typically because it is just the Alligator’s instincts to tell them to leave. If the Alligator’s instincts were to eat, the cat would likely die unless the cat runs away.

Amazing that lions would risk serious injury or death by messing with large crocodiles! Generally predators don't risk themselves by taking on dangerous prey!

The Lion has sharp claws that can damage the Croc's eyes and penetrate the soft underbelly, if they can expose it. Lions are also faster on land and are agile enough to dodge the Croc's tail strike.

Considering nile crocodiles have the strongest jaws on the planet (well, second only to their australian cousins, the saltwater crocodiles), you're 100% correct there. Being bitten by one of them, even one that isn't full grown like the the male or female we see in the video, is going to do quite a bit of damage.
If she got really bitten on face you would clearly see after but it's seem the croc didn't..
Got lucky to be honest, either the crocodile didn't get a full hold or the others harassed it enough to let go, because it could have crushed it's skull like a walnut

@@machinegun9039 I feel you as far as what was best for the croc's survival as it relates to the retaliation of the other surrounding lionesses. I was just talking about it's genetic capabilities on what was achievable. Even though the lioness is very quick I beg to differ on its ability to out-quick the snap of a crocodile. The snap of a croc is so quick and severe, that a lot of times the video can't capture the total movement from beginning to the end of its clinch. The frame rate is too slow to catch the full motion.

Jaguars grow to be about 1.62 - 1.83 metres (5.3 - 6 feet) in length and Jaguars weigh around 36 kilograms (80 pounds) lets see a jag take on a full grown Croc not a juvenile.
