- The second expression on the Glenfiddich Experimental range is the Glenfiddich Project XX. The XX in this case meaning the roman numeral for 20.
The flavour profile was derived from 20 casks, each one chosen by one of the 20 global ambassadors for the Glenfiddich brand. In the mix are 17 ex bourbon casks, 2 ex sherry casks and one port pipe.
After the slight disappointment of the Glenfiddich IPA, I was ready to be underwhelmed by this. But I was actually pleasantly surprised by it.

For those curious it looks like the experiment 3 will be called "Winter Storm". 43% ABV 21 year old Glenfiddich finished for up to 6mo in icewine casks. Around 200 GBP in a white ceramic bottle.

I saw the IPA on the shelf but not this one... I currently have three Glenfiddichs open, so I'm a bit hesitant.

Wow love this whisky. Tried it tonight. very complex nose and palate. Add a few drops of water to really open it up.

Despite always having the 12 on hand ( it's my default calibrator ) and enjoying the 15, personally I struggle a wee bit with 'fiddichs. Maybe worth a punt you say? Perhaps I'll try a dram next time I see a gantry bottle.
On past 500 subs Vin congrats! I got to talk to Glenfiddich's North American Ambassador about the XX just before it was released and I really liked the idea behind it but have yet to find one. I really enjoying your outtake videos by the way, they make me feel a lot better about all the re-takes I have to do :P

Here's hoping they call the next in the series the XXX, for 30.... not for...well, you know. The tasting notes sound very appealing to me and I will have to give this a go, methinks. Also, is that a bottle of Famous Grouse I see tucked away there ... :P

NNW, when I first got this bottle I was not impressed. Half way through, I started to enjoy it. On the aftertaste I got peach, go figure. Although I like it better now, I will not buy a 2nd bottle.
