Ayy one last time I'll say thank you so much for playing and it's been a blast watching you play through the story! Really happy you found that level escape at the end too hehe. As you cleanly summarized it's all taken quite a dark turn that I hope wasn't too off-putting (whoops lol) and a lot of effort always goes in to making each game look and play better. This game showed the big story and thematic idea I had burning in my mind ever since 2019; finally being able to tell Himiko's backstory and evolve her until this point has allowed that part of my brain to rest now that it's out there :D To answer a few questions:
29:42 With both pieces you actually captured the opponent's home base & king, resulting in instant win! A fitting end to prove your skill ;)
1:32:11 If you're interested, it was actually possible to inspect the white board in the club room in each chapter! You'd see Himiko ignoring Yasu's notes and finally acknowledging them in Chapter 4 will net you the achievement c: but you didn't miss much!
Unfortunately with the relatively low sale numbers & interest for the Shinogi Chess series, motivation has been at an all time low, but I am not deterred. The third and final game will release eventually (...sorry) since Cody Rhodes demands that I #finishthestory. It may just take a few other game releases (i.e. a few years) in the meantime so I can step away from it and the uncertain nature of the Unity engine means I may switch out of it eventually; that may involve a complete re-write of all the code and rebuilding of all the levels in another engine to make it work. But that will not deter me either! Shinogi Chess Club 3 will see our characters tackle their final semester, and the "strategic gameplay" will extend far beyond chess to full scale armored vehicle battles as our characters age up and face the inevitable conflict that awaits. If that sounds like insanity, just trust me on that.
Meanwhile, I am just a week or two from announcing my next game so please stay tuned for that! As a one-man team it takes an absurd amount of work to put this stuff together but it's a job I have dedicated my life to, so every little bit helps, even just spreading the word. This new project steps away from the Shinogi Chess storyline but will still feature the classic "visual novel hybrid" style that these games have progressed, and will undoubtedly be more exciting and appealing for a bigger audience. Until then, thank you Don for playing and thank you to everyone who keeps up with my work ♥Hope that wasn't too pretentious lol and hope to see you soon... on the branches of Eden :)
EDIT: Btw the original Shinogi Chess Club game is currently on sale on both Epic Games Store and Steam so do feel free to try it out if you'd like to send some support!

Wow, the finale! It's a little weird that it's actually here after so much has kept happening. Though with a third part of the story seemingly in the works, it make sense. I'll say that if I had a dollar for every exchange that screamed out "pot calling the kettle black" to me, I'd definitely have a fatter wallet. Fantastic call on the "heinous act." I definitely didn't expect that. Also congrats on 51:00. It doesn't take a genius to figure out where the creator got that from. After the mother-daughter showdown turned out to be more of a non-event than expected (which actually makes a lot of sense considering Yuko's position), I'm not sure exactly what Himiko is planning to do to remove Yuko from the picture. Whatever it is, it will probably transform her as a person even more, and it will certainly require more than just Shinogi Chess.
