Hello, we're happy you found the video helpful! We have plenty more on our Support Portal such as an article on modeling inclined borehole logs: support.goldensoftware.com/hc/en-us/articles/226501147-Display-both-the-measured-depth-MD-and-the-true-vertical-depth-TVD-scales-for-inclined-boreholes-in-Strater. You can change the colors of the lithologies manually or through the Scheme Editor. The Scheme Editor is the recommended way, however. Hello! Great tutorial! But I have a question, Im using the software for a soil profile, that means that the thickness of each horizons may be different, for example 0-15/20 cm, how can I make that as a lithology log? Or even as a Line log for pH with the same depth? Thank you
Hello Maria, I'm not sure I understand your use-case. The layers in your Strater cross section are as thick as you've specified via the To and From depths in your interval table. If that doesn't answer your question, would you please send an example of your desired output to stratersupport@goldensoftware.com? Once I see what you're asking for, I'll be able to tell you if and how Strater can give you that result. Thanks! Leslie McWhirter Golden Software
Golden Software thank you very much! Well, the problem is that since I'm working with soils, the limits of each horizon not always have the same thickness, there's an unconformity. For example, in my soil profile, the first horizon goes from 0 to 10 cm, but also from 0 to 8 in the same profile, in other words, the limit is 0-8/10 cm, is like an inclined line. Last night I was practicing a little and I found that the Draw/unconformity can work, but I have a problem now with the scheme color... Cause only works for a straight line and I want it to work also for the unconformity
Hi Maria, You are correct that the scheme cannot currently be used to apply properties to an unconformity. Instead, the properties for the unconformity are made directly to the line by selecting it in the Object Manager and then adjusting the properties as desired in the Property Manager. I have added your vote for the ability to apply properties to unconformity lines in the scheme to our suggestion file. Thanks! Katie
Hi Nimia, There are a few reasons why you may only see one layer in your log. 1. The log may be associated with the incorrect columns. 2. The log may be displayed across multiple pages due to custom scaling. 3. The lithology scheme for each item may be identical making it look like a single layer. If you would like help determining which of these is causing the behavior you are seeing, please email a screen shot indicating what is wrong along with your file to support@goldensoftware.com.
