Idk if anyone can answer this, but Max advocates NOT leveraging yourself against the barbell, & someone like Chris Duffin seems to advocate the opposite, & both are respectable in the fitness world. Is this kind of a, "do whatever works for you" shin-dig?
Every one of these videos says to keep your shin perpendicular, and you knee above your foot. Every one of these videos, their shin is not perpendicular and knee is not above foot. Just stop at 0:43 and look at her left leg. Wish someone would clarify this BS.
Max is definitely a better Sumo coach than me. He pulled well over 700 sumo, coached his wife Jo Ann to an ATWR in 2012 sumo, as well as many other big sumo pullers.
Juggernaut Training Systems dang I forgot he pulled sumo. I kinda thought weightlifter- probably just pulled conventional. Again tho wasn't trying to discredit him in any way. Just interesting to see Max talking about a powerlifting movement instead of weightlifting
if I recall correctly, in the video on supertotal training Max emphasized that he believed that people training for supertotal should do sumo because the setup position is less likely to confound with your snatch and clean start positions than the conventional deadlift start position would.
Disappointed there is no reasoning behind foot width, you mentioned the knee needs to be over the foot but no reason to why this is optimal and no examples of when this can be different.
The pillar series are awesome!
True. I got ~ + 10 kg on my squat immediately after i changed my set up.
5 pillars of bicep curls please
Pillar #1 : Step in the squat rack.
I'm not sure 5 videos would be enough
LOL
This is GOLD. Please also make 5 pillars for great OHP
Thank you! I did Land Mine Sumo DLs, and they felt amazing... When you made the remark about the stability, I understood why they felt better. TYSM 👍🏾

We still want a series on the strict standing overhead press. We also think that Kristen is a demigod. God damn she's lovely ! 💗

Now 4:01 is how you end a vid.
Pillar 1: Don't pull sumo cheater
Dylan Murphy Pillar 2 : Go fuck yourself 😆
Shantanu no u
Not to discredit him, but seems a lil odd Jugg has Mr Montana teaching this. Wonderful video nonetheless
Brandon I think he deadlifted like 750 sumo. And although Chad can coach the sumo, obviously, it's refreshing hearing his perspective.

Don't pull sumo.
Sumo needs to go. Retire records and clean up the sport. "Stand erect with shoulders back..." No one stands erect by first doing a split.
