- Today we ride the Class 777 "Metro" trains on their first day of service with Merseyrail, these trains are long awaited and the reason for this channel name! They were orders back in 2017 and released today!

What a splendid train ! They make the London Overground Class 710 Aventras look very utilitarian in comparison with their horizontal seating throughout. Well done Merseyrail !
They are very nice to use!
I am glad they still have Julie Berrys voice doing the next station stop announcements.
Very impressive overall - just wish they hadn't carried over that annoying "see it, say it, sorted" automated announcement!
The Stadler Triple 7s are putting even Class 378s to shame

I will miss the Class 507 and Class 508. The Class 777 do look very nice.

Did you know, that these trains are Swiss-Polish? Some parts were produced in my country, Poland, in Siedlce.

@@bb-3653 No, it's not swedish. Alstom has an ex-Bombardier factory of course, but, please read on wikipedia page of Merseyrail Class 777.

Might be able to next week, they are only every 45 minutes and off peak only at the minute.

It must have been hectic trying to film this and get a UA-cam video uploaded in the shortest time, when so many folk are filming the exact same train. No doubt the first film 'published' will catch the early viewers
I have watched a few videos of this same event and somehow, each one is totally different.
Later this year, the local Metro service, here in Newcastle will be starting to use new trains too, also from Stadler, in Switzerland. No doubt there’ll be many folk filming the first train here too .. I might even join them.
I recorded it at 4pm, and got home ASAP and it took me about 30 minutes to edit it and then I got it out as soon as I could, was quite stressful but I managed!

i know exactly what you mean. i often wait for a train at Edge Hill station in Liverpool and feel like telling people ..'hey this is the oldest working Railway station in the World' but would they take headphones off and be interested in my small fact?
To be honest, they have been blabbering on about them here for 5 years, I assume 90% of people here know haha.

seems like less seats and not much standing space if there's a pram and bikes onboard
The capacity is actually much bigger, the train is slightly wider and the seats are 10mm bigger, there is now a designated pram area with flip up seats to create space.
There are 6 bike spaces (3 at each end) and 2 wheelchair spaces!
I'm almost certain that you've heard the wheels screeching, not the brakes
Then again, could be either, I suppose; I wasn't there to hear it with you!

They’re longer than the old stock 4 coaches the old stock have 3. If you haven’t seen them or ridden on them DON’T criticise them!!!
It was the first day of them, I hopped on it again today and it was very quiet.
@@josephpullan734 It was not a criticism just a comment/question (?) from one where we have 6 and 8 car trains.
I was on this train yesterday, going about my normal business, on my way home from workig a night shift and this this train turns up, full of train nerds. The general public who mostly uses these train don’t really care what train turns up, how old it is or any of that crap. All we want is it to turn up on time, be warm (when it’s cold) be reasonable clean inside and be able to sit and relax.
Thanks to you and your train weirdos, most of us regulars had to stand after working all night and be squeezed on to a cattle wagon.
Get a proper job and a more interesting hobby!

Wow, you're a miserable bugger, aren't you? I rode on one of them yesterday, and all the people on board - almost entirely regular travellers as far as I can see - were really excited by it. A teenage girl - hardly a well-known trainspotter demographic - called her friend and raved about how great it was. Like it or not, plenty of people are really excited by these trains, and it's obvious why - they're a huge improvement.

You've got to be kidding. I rode one yesterday. They're absolutely superb. Smooth, quiet, fast, plenty of space and fantastic accessibility with the gap fillers.
Amazing how there will always be one miserable old bastard opposed to new technology even when it is objectively better in every way to the old stuff decades overdue an upgrade.

Have you tried to make a video on them? After a look on your channel, I assume not. As the stats say, 95%+ people liked it, so I am not sure whats wrong!
