The class 380s have only been operating the Glasgow to Barrhead route since early this year as the line was only electrified recently. Before that it was the older and noisier class 156 DMUs that operated the route. They still operate the route where journeys continue past Barrhead

Makes more sense for the direct service to go via Crewe rather than Manchester and Sheffield, which should be a separate service

I would have gone to York then via London to Norwich if that happened to me it’ll take a couple hours more but in the grand scheme of things at least you’ll be able to eat in London or York or even on the train if it’s buffet is open

Great video but I hate these trains. They are incredibly noisy anywhere near the engine area. There is inadequate space for large luggage placed only at the ends of the train, after all it is an airport service. The seats are fine but only for the first hour - great for local journeys only. The handles for leaving the train are wrongly placed and useless if you need them. Lastly just work out how many announcements are inflicted on you as you travel say to Manchester from Llandudno Junction and consider my misery being bilingull and knowing I have to face them all on the return journey (over 200)

the train is so bad 5 hours long is not worth it, there are so many options, EMR doesnt even give intercity trains to norwich!!!

Question, I notice that some of the stations have English and Welsh language names. Can I book a ticket using only the welsh version of the name ?

I live in Norwich and used to often do Norwich to Sheffield on this journey. Only one way to describe it AWFUL! How you managed to do the full journey is beyond me and you deserve a medal.

As residend, living close to this route, i can advise You: AVOID! Overcrovded services, delays and cancelations, AC cannot deal with warm weather...

The recorded announcements on this service are made by a miserable-sounding woman who makes a complete hash of the Welsh place names. They annoy me each time I use it. Fortunately it’s only on the Class 230 units; they have a different voice on the Class 197 units.
