They are all great dancers, but J-Hope and Jimin have an extensive dance background before BTS and Jungkook traveled to the US after joining the company to study dance.
Jungkook was there for few weeks in us but he worked really hard on himself to reach jimin and jhope level ofc they are better because the longer experience but he really amazes me that he had no formal training and is great dancer 👀
oh thats really freaking cool! so is the US really big in the dance scene?
@@JohnReavesLive I think he went specifically to learn Hip Hop dancing.
::pokes Gwen::
@@louloubumper8179 Hey Lou!!!
Originally the'dance line' consisted of Jimin (performing arts high school and contemporary dance experience), J Hope., (street dancer and member of dance crew Neuron in his home town of Gwangju) and Jungkook. Later Taehyung was 'added' to the dance line after his great work in his solo performance of 'Singularity'. Of the remaining members, Suga did have some b boying experience in his teens before a shoulder injury sustained in an accident made dancing more difficult. Jin and RM were complete novices and have pulled themselves up to a good standard by sheer hard work and determination.
Well they absolutely crushed it! and for real I loved this!
@@priiifrg he did b boying when he was in the under ground scene… he said this during a dance challenge episode in American Hustle Life
@@happypill512 Yeah Not until, The accident came and broke his shoulders🥺
all of bts's b-sides are worth the listen. they put all their efforts through every single song.
That’s how I wish all bands were! How cool they actually do that though!
true
I think their biggest live performance, as a fandom consensus, it's their 2019 MMA (Melon Music Awards) performance. Followed by the 2018, then 2020. Then there are their MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) performances. But, honestly, any asian award show performance of theirs is insane, actually.
Do you know what songs they do in the 2019 mma?? I want to do a reaction to those first then maybe finish it with that live show!
@@JohnReavesLive maybe you can start with the mma 2018 performance and then the 2019.
In the 2018: fake love, airplane pt. 2, idol
In the 2019 : boy in luv, boy with luv, mikrocosmo, Dionysus
@@JohnReavesLive for the 2019 one they did Intro: Persona, Boy in Luv, Boy With Luv, mikrokosmos, medley instrumental of some of their songs, and Dionysus!
@@JohnReavesLive They do Persona, Boy IN Luv, Boy WITH Luv, Mikrokosmos and Dionysus! They MMA performance is 27 minutes! (See my extra comment.)
@@JohnReavesLive OH MY GOD THAT PERFORMANCE IS THE BEST PERFORMANCE IVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE , I cant imagine how they managed to do it without passing out in the middle cause wowwwww, I'm so excited for you to see it.
I always say the studio versions of their songs are great and clean, but the live versions are fantastic with lots of personality.
^^^^^ Exactly!!
The dance break that J-Hope does at the end is different each time they do this song. when on tour. Love the dance practices and the live performances are the best.. .
Can’t wait to see more of them! I love all the live shows I’ve seen so far!
he really needs to see a compilation of jhope in baepsae (th last dances of him are /cheff kiss), not for nothing he is th king of this song when perfoming and th dance machine.😭💜
@@JohnReavesLive i am glad =0]
They solve everything using rock paper scissors, they were even named ambassadors of the rock paper scissors world association 😭😭😭
BHahahaha that is amazing!!!!
I hear the RPS Preface and automatically smile at this point 😁🫰🏾💜
100% all good dancers, they trained for several years but they have a dance line, a rap line and all of them have amazing vocals even in solos.... 7 super talents.
🙌🙌🙌 for real though! It’s crazy they are like a super group
Also the Vocal line Jk,Jin,Jimin,V
@@JohnReavesLive This group was rather randomly built by the Korean companies. Part of what happened seem to me to be "luck"... 7 goodlooking smart guys grew to be 7 good looking smart and enormously talented guys. Their fans are attached to more than their talent however. These gentlemen have a positive message for the youth, they are compassionate and sensitive and honest and compassionate.. they are brothers. They are adored around the world by millions... and I promise it isn't just because they can dance and sing and look good.. it is a much deeper barrel...
Let's not leave out Vmin (Friends written by Jimin) or Sope (Otsukare).
Even though the members don’t have the same dancing skills, they practice coordination so they look very in sync. This helps “hide” any skill level differences in group choreographies. Despite that, it’s still very impressive that RM and Jin who have no prior dancing background before BTS can catch up to J-Hope (national street dancing champion) and Jimin (classically trained contemporary dancer) in group dances
Whoa yeah that is insane they can keep up with so much talent and honestly they all look professional here to me 😂
Jhope is titled as best dancer in kpop 2021
The guy who impressed you the most singing live his name is Jeon Jungkook but you can call him JK he's the main vocalist of the group and he is the most stable voice even he's jumping around but still you can hear him singing like nothing happen 🤣 also he's mostly in center of the acts he is my BIAS since 2017🥰💜 big love from qatar 28yo.😊
Heck yes! for real thank you so much for the comment! lol love your name on here by the way!!!
@@JohnReavesLive oh thanks 😊 all my UA-cam accounts names is related to JK I want to use his iconic lines hahahaha anyway I subscribe all my accounts here for you bc. I appreciate your reactions and commentary to our boys, YOU NICE KEEP GOING 💜
JK is my bias and is so incredible in vocals and dancing. He's our Golden Maknae 💜
All of them are pretty good dancers, but they have their dance line (the best dancers in the group).
*J-Hope: Dance leader, main dancer.
*Jimin: main dancer
*JK: lead dancer
*V: dancer

16:42 Exactly! Recently, RM in a mini-documentary of the song "My Universe" that they did with coldplay said the following: "We are a different kind of boyband, if you think about it before, rock bands performed with their instruments, but we do that with dances ". That gave me a lot to think about, the importance that their choreography also has for them when it comes to transmitting what they want. Since that moment I see in a different light their choreography, that is, I already admired the fact that they could sing and dance at the same time, but now I appreciate dancing as a kind of art different from playing instruments and just as valid. I admire them very much as artists. You have to see "Black Swan", it's moving art, amazing.
Heck yes! It’s cool to see they look at it the same way! I have heard so much about Black Swan! I have to see and hear it soon!
So taehyung (V) was added to the dance line in 2018 after singularity was released and it's deserved since he showed a great dancing abilities and skills since 2013 also he's the only untrained one in the line up , also the 3J unit existed before he was added to the dance line and it exists till this day in case if you're wondering , love how moody V in his dancing is . Sometimes he's sharp/energetic/swaggy/changing the choreography/super focused/ so uninterested / passionate/ cool / s,xy ...etc
Lol I love that him being like that is just how human he is, so versatile too! Really stoked to see more from the dance line
This was 2016 performance jungkook the youngest was still like 18 now they are GROWN
Their b-sides are all bangers tbh I love it more than title tracks
Ma city , boyz with fun , attack on bangtan, we on etc ate so good too
Really want to check out attack on bangtan
Jump is amazing, especially live
@@JohnReavesLive Yes, please do! The one in Japan is one of the fandom’s favorite performance. It shows a lot of their personalities. Please check the channel Enjoy BTS More. They put subtitles on BTS live performances. You can search Attack on Bangtan (or Rise of Bangtan) on Stage Epilogue Tour Japan.
@@JohnReavesLive YES PLEASE!! its a really old song but its iconic
@@a.a.a7547 i love Jump 💜 i prefer the 2014 showcase performence it's incredeble
They are all great dancers. Back in the day there was rumor that BTS were the Jabberwockies because they are such great dancers. Think of it like this, the worst dancer in BTS is the Best dancer in any other group. They are that good. Here's the killer. They all can sing & rap. No wait, here's the killer. they can all play instruments. No, No. Wait, they all write & produce their songs. These guys are so exceptionally talented. Wait until you see them in concert.
One day! For real I would love to go to a show of theirs! I’ve been to so many concerts I love the atmosphere of a live show 🥰
Long before BTS sang about social issues, there was Seo Taiji and the Boys. They performed in the early 1990’s and brought a new sound and message to conservative (and old-fashioned) S. Korea. Young people adored him, he’s still a legend, and his message changed music and the culture. He is now about 50 years old (like PSY, he doesn’t age). He had a 25 year reunion concert in 2017 and invited BTS to perform on 8 of the songs. This link ua-cam.com/video/co0FZyu4_2Y/v-deo.html is a song about the oppressive education system in SK and it has such a metal sound. His band is phenomenal and the crowd is all in. BTS performs with him. Turn on subtitles!! He basically passes the torch to BTS in this concert. I think you’ll love it. I’m enjoying your reactions. 👍🏻
That is so cool!!! Going to have to check this out soon! Thank you for the suggestion!! Love to know the history behind things :)
@@JohnReavesLive they did a cover version of classroom idea, its amazing as well ARGH SO MANY THINGS TO SHOW YOU
@@JohnReavesLive They also did a remix of his song called Come Back Home, the original is great, but I really love BTS's version the most!💜
Fun fact: there was live band in the live performance called Ghost Band, BTS’s own band
Do they have any other videos with Ghost Band? Or is it like every live show they have them?
@@JohnReavesLive they did have the band with them in Tiny Desk concert(2020)and mostly in their Japan concerts.
😂😂I remember saying the same thing…what do you mean “the dance line”. They’re all dancing, all the time, and really good!😂
Lol right?!?! I’m like… we’ll if they “can’t dance” I have no hope 😂😂
Bapsae has been most requested on their concert so they cannot left this out. You will be surprised that all their songs that has goofy choreography (there’s a lot) has the most deep meaning discussing socio-economic or battling depression. Thanks again
🙌🙌 I really love the goofy style with a serious meaning, to be honest I think that’s a really good way to address these things loosens people us to have a real discussion about it or like just think about things in a different light
@@JohnReavesLive For me, the two goofiest songs, which are very "pop"y and sound superficial and childlike or childish are Anpanman and Gogo - then I found out the real meanings.
Anpanman is based on a comic book hero who is made out of bread: he is a weak superhero because all he can offer is a piece of his head to save people who are starving, and once he has given them that, he has to rest overnight for his head to regrow again - this is Bangtan recognising that what they can do to help people is limited, but they will give their all.
Gogo is a party song, but it lists all the barriers that young people face if they want to make a life: many young people in Korea cannot afford to live away from their parents, they can;t afford to marry, can't afford to have children - so, they get told to work and save their money, but they will never be able to afford to buy their own place, why bother, just have fun.
This last issue is a real problem for Korea and is reflected in their plummeting birth rate, and even concerns that mandatory military service will be unable to maintain the army's needs.
Check out each of them - there are some hilarious live performances where they are having so much fun! But BTS love performing live and you can feel their energy right across a stadium and through a phone screen! They are amazing performers. You mentioned seeing their personalities and relationships on stage ... Gods, yes! They all genuinely love each other, and that shows, too.
Live it! They're just having fun! Actually, Baepsae is one of their easiest choreography. They mean the Dance line(Jhope, Jungkook, Jimin) original dance line, but in 2018, V joined them. But they're all good dancers. The one you said singing better in live is Jungkook, he's the main vocalist!
🙌🙌🙌 heck yes!! Thank you for sticking around til the end! Jungkook has such and amazing voice.. I was literally awestruck by it
I always have enjoyed their chaotic performance of Attack on Bangtan/ the rise of Bangtan onstage Epilogue. Their onstage chemistry was hilarious and energetic. They do have a dance practice, but the concert performance was more freestyle.
I really loved seeing it go from song to rehearsal to live show! Very cool experience
@@JohnReavesLive ATTACK ON BANGTAN LIVE, OMG . it's so funny and chaotic!! so what, live too!!
The main dancers are Jimin and J-Hope (specialized), but the dance line consists of Jimin, J-Hope (Hoseok), Jungkook and V (Taehyung)
They all crushed it! But how insane is it that Jhope is so talented at rap/singing/ and dancing
When they said "the dancers were out" they were referring to the 3J who are the dance line J-hope, Jimin and Jungkook. But when they do their choreography, they make sure they are all in sync and dancing as one which makes their performances really amazing. 💜
This is a really easy low key fun dance for bts, but bare in mind they have some really complex choreography, can't wait for you to see them
I am really stoked to see how they merge the music and choreography !
I think you will love to watch their 21st Century Girl dance practice. It's a Halloween version and it's very fun to watch. They're killing it but they had a few mistakes caused by their costumes. 😂
Lol I can’t wait to see this!
This was a more relaxed choreography, hence the bit of messing around. Tougher Dance Practices like “Fake love”, DNA” or “On” ,for example are fabulous. V (Taehyung), the one who shrugged his hoody off, is the eccentric of the group and will often be doing something unusual in live performances 🤣.
“Attack on Bangtan” , “Idol” and “So What” are some songs they go crazy on live.
MMA 2019 is the classic killer live awards show performance, it’s about 40 mins long. I think that’s the best idea to check the songs out first and they are all completely different so will be fun.
set list
R.M alone with “Persona”- kills it
“Boy IN love”- boys with hormones🤣killing the performance
“Boy WITH love”- it’s the little things………
“Mikroksmos “- a love letter to Army with beeeautiful staging.
“Dionysius “- jumping jehosavat you’ll need a lie down
Remember, this is an awards show.

They bring a band to their concerts, so all the arrangements are with a live band! I think the name is "Ghost Band"!
That is freakin awesome!! Adds just another layer to their already massive live show :)
I think it was that specific tour/few countries where the band was with them.
@@luciaas4174 Not really 😂
@@JohnReavesLive there's a performance of their song called "boyz with fun" (very fun song btw, the live performances are insane even if there's choreo to it), where they made that live band have freestyle solo for each member with bts hyping them up at the same time, we could also see the actual band performing with them. Here is the performance, one of my fav but one of the most underrated.
ua-cam.com/video/tXDuggGjTUs/v-deo.html
Check out the special 3J dance performance of the Butter Remix. Meg Thee Stallion did a verse in the Remix and 3J (J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook) did a special choreo for it. It's SUPER short since it's just her verse, but you'll get to see the three best dancers doing a completely different style than you've seen so far.
😳 I bet this is freakin awesome! Really stoked to see it soon!
@@JohnReavesLive then watch the behind vid to see the process of them making the vid, shows how hard they work, how much control they have over what they put out, and what perfectionists they are
BAEPSAE always has that effect, we're like open mouth with wide eyes, whether it's the practice dance video or in concert, these 7 boys are really awesome and talented 🤩😍👏👍💜
Yeah 100% they Crushed it!!!!
So What - the ultimate party stage
Anpanman - literal playground on stage 😅
Ohhhh?! I haven’t seen either of these yet!! Really want to now though! Thank you for the suggestion!
A few things in dance practice many of them wear boots, you might notice but it’s like training with weights it adds some weight and endurance to how hard they can go in lighter stage shoes. They always look like they are having a blast in dance practices and yes they are always better live than on the recording. They also perform on tour with a live band if you can hear it. They don’t have a reputation as one of the best live acts for the last many years for no reason. I’ll suggest Not Today for a fantastic MV and the dance practice/live is insanely good. The friendship and playfulness on stage is hilarious they love to screw around with each other a lot like it gets worse/funnier and more hilarious every year but in a way that’s fun not distracting, although they are absolutely trying to get each other to screw up a bit.
Lol I love seeing that on stage and I use to do that all the time with my brother when we would play shows together 😂😂
That’s cool to know about the boots adding that extra weight!
I always tell people bts are better live and they don't believe it
those people are crazy!
Lol seeing or hearing is believing!

He's the first in group called " Idols of textbook " 2014
He's being role model for other idols since 2016 ( without being in dance line)
2017 called idols of idol after tons of idols called him there role model and keep mentioning how they watching his fancam to learn stage presence and facial expressions, dance moves.
His fancam even used in other companies to train their rookies.

Baespae is such a fun song, the lyrics are so deep. I do the leg sweep in my kitchen all the time
I would probably hurt myself doing the leg sweep... but the next time I am in my kitchen I am going to try all the same.
Lol my daughters already think I’m crazy so honestly I’m down! I’ll try it!
The so "dances rehearsal" are essentialy there to show us how the whole choreo would look like during live performance because in a MV WE can't really watch all the movements together. But of course they have done it multiple times before they are so hardworkers.
Oh and i really appreciate that u prior their screen window whereas most if other reactors put such a tiny window for them. It is cool because even if most of ppl know their lyrics others like to follow the lyrics or what they say with u. 🤘💜
🙌🙌🙌 for real thank you so much! I’m really wanting to spot light the band more than myself if that makes sense and just talking before and after the video :) really just want to pay respects to their art

Lol I can’t wait to see that!! I’ve heard I needed to see Attack on Bangtan but never told the reason, now I’m stoked!
In the dance rehearsal they did rock paper scissors to determine who'd get the Spotlight at the end and have to do a solo segment and Suga lost 😂
In the actual choreo, as you've seen, Jhope fills that spot with break dancing.
They often include some silly stuff like that in their dance rehearsal videos (like Halloween specials in costumes, I highly recommend those 😂).
Cant wait to see that one!!!!!
@@JohnReavesLive they did one to 'GOGO' which is a certified bop and sarcastic commentary on capitalism, and one to '21st century girl' which is a feminist anthem. Both dance practices are ultra hilarious and chaotic.
Well your questions on the dancing were answered so I won't repeat lol you have some great BTS experts filling you in. BTS are definitely one band that sound better live then on mv. Some songs need to be watched live just because the mvs don't always do the vocals justice, like epiphany by jin has to be watched live , Jin vocals are amazing. Yes also BTS definitely like and love each other , they are closer then brothers if thats possible, thats why I think they have been able to be together for over a decade. Anyway great reaction I enjoyed it fully.
Teresa! Thank you so much for checking this out and taking the time to comment :) for real ARMY has shown up and honestly I’m stunned how well this video has done in such a short amount of time :) really have had fun hearing new music and going down the rabbit hole with bts
they are notorious for being better live than studio version, they mess around in stage a lot for fun songs or sarcastic songs but they turn all professional mode like they could be joking around and the second the beat is on their whole demeanor shifts....there's even a compilation of clips where they would be poking each other or joking around then when the show starts they do a 180, boom! professional mode its really fascinating to see, and as a performer myself from time to time ur headspace usually is totaly different
and their vocals are soooo sooo much better now, this was back in 2015/2016, so after 7-6 years you can imagine how much they've improved vocally , rap wise, and stage presence wise
Ahhh can’t wait to see more live shows! And if they are only getting better from here I’m in for a it lol! Love how professional they can be, very much reminds me of when I’m doing live shows, I’ll be playing a song (metal, so it’s probably an intense subject and most likely I’ll be screaming or aggressively singing) and then the next thing you know I’m joking with the crowd or my band mates lol

Suga and RM do not like dancing..in the beginning, I think they actually hated it but eventually liked it as they got better. They worked hard. It's been said that Jin and RM come in last places when it comes to dance compared to the others. Seriously though..even so, they are still freaking amazing .. who can really tell. Suga hates dancing...but he's actually VERY GOOD at it. Jhope, Jimin, and Jungkook, are the best, V is really good too. Shoot... they are all incredibly talented. I should have just said that from the start 😂🤣😂. Thank you so much for doing the entire Baepsae line ( lyric video, explanation video, dance rehearsal, and live). One thing: you must check out the lyrics but then the meaning! It’s AMAZING!
I did!!!! its such a deeper song than I thought at first! Crow-Tit!!! lol had NO clue what that was about, now im like.... yup! Imma Crow-Tit! :)
Live it. Where to start? "Whiter than mayonnaise"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I actually spit out my drink. I absolutely loved your reactions to Baepsae. I love the route you took. It was the song that brought me to BTS, it holds a special place in my heart. (Not just hip thrusts, although 🤯) What I loved is that you understand performance. I will add that these boys have been together in what I would call a training bootcamp. They move as one. Dance practices are usually, at this stage about not looking in the mirror anymore and getting used to how it feels.
You get that them live is what makes us all love them, you get that they are crackheads, like brothers, passionate and truly love what they do. There are tons of videos about their "duality" being goofy one second and a performance BEAST in another. You noticed how good they sound live and the fact that Jungkook sounds better live (just wait it gets even more amazing), how they can sound so stable while dancing. It is insane.
I am trying to not overload you with choices. Favorite rapline live - Outro: Tear(Ddaeng and Cypher 4 are up there)
Favorite all of them- As others have mentioned below MMA 2019 is just, there are no words.
Next Pied Piper 5th Muster
The recent SoWooZoo concert with OT7 doing Daechwita and Chicken Noodle Soup.
Not Today and Idol.
Favorite vocal line - Dimple 5th Muster and House of Cards.
I will not mention solos at this point. TMI lol
I think because you are an artist you will really appreciate their gift of sharing themselves with their audience, I've never seen anything like it.
I also think you will enjoy that they defy genre, they are their own genre.

THE REALITY of BTS is NEVER EXPECTED! Get the WORD out, PLEASE! They’re written off before given a TRUE CHANCE sooo many, many times!
right?! I honestly didnt give them a chance at first til my great friend Megan showed me the way!
Was just recommended your channel today and love your energy! Binge watched all your BTS videos and now I'm caught up and subscribed! Personally I agree that almost all BTS songs are better live. I know albums should sound polished, but the members are just so talented and the versatility of their voices amazes me sometimes that I sometimes feel like the "polish" actually diminishes it for me a bit. Don't get me wrong, I still listen to those tracks ALL THE TIME, but I absolutely LOVE hearing their raw vocals and how the same song sounds slightly different each time they sing it.
Also Dance Practice videos in KPop are usually recorded when the choreography and performance is pretty much perfect. It's done to show their fans the full performance because oftentimes in videos of actual performances there will be close-ups of whoever is singing/rapping, or sometimes the camera work is awful. It's just a way to see everything and a lot of people who want to learn the dances use these videos as reference.
Yes, the rock-paper-scissors was to decide who would do the "dance break" for the practice video. JHope would do it in every live performance and they decided it would be fun for this one instance to leave it to rock-paper-scissors to see who would do it.... and it was Suga!!
Lastly, as for the "dancers", it was at the time JHope, Jimin and Jungkook. They are the considered the dance line and V was added in 2018. I don't claim to be an expert, but I did take dance classes growing up for about 8 years (ballet, tap, and jazz), and then danced for fun in a group in college for all 4 years (more hip-hop moves, but really mixed styles). The members often would joke about Jin and/or RM being the worst dancers. In my opinion, they are the weakest of the group, but that's not really saying much. They are still light-years ahead of any normal person you would pull off the street. And current RM and Jin are AMAZING. In older videos if I watch only them, I can tell they are slightly stiffer than other members, and they have shared that it takes them longer to actually learn the specific moves than some of the other members. But in those older videos and performances, they manage to still blend in with the whole group and do the choreography splendidly. But again, at this point in 2022, despite having no dance training before BTS, RM and Jin have been doing this for 10+ years and they have put in the EFFORT and it SHOWS. They can pretty much match the dance line move for move in their performances and they look a lot more natural. Suga is the only member not mentioned yet. He's not in the dance line, but he's usually not lumped in with RM and Jin either. He's sort of floating in the middle haha. He's actually a REALLY good dancer but sometimes in dance practice videos he would seem to hold back a bit. Often in dance performances you have to sell a move and go harder than you'd think, and some of the dance line members will go SUPER hard on a move, and Suga will just do the move. Hard to explain but I know when I used to dance it was a weird experience to think I was killing a choreo, and then when I saw the playback, it didn't seem as sharp as it felt. But as with the others, at this point Suga has been doing this for 10+ years and he can kill pretty much any dance performance at this point and SELL it.
For real thank you so much! Welcome to the fam! I’ve really been enjoying the journey so far and honestly loved meeting everyone :) it’s been awesome!
I’m glad you agree with the live shows they are just a different type of energy that for me is hard to match!
How cool that you have so much dance experience! Lol I’m so green that what everyone is saying is a chill dance for them has already blown my mind 😂😂
About Suga... I think the reason why he couldn't really go super hard while dancing was because he suffered an accident while delivering food (his part time job at that time) early in his career in BTS.. it was a bad shoulder injury that he initially didn't tell the company about it because he thought he might be taken off the group. And after that they were super busy and he never had the time to get it properly treated. It was only a couple of years ago during the pandemic (when most of their activities were on hold) when he finally got the required surgery and rehab for his shoulder injury... I think he moves more freely now and it shows in his dancing..💖
BTS is in suits most of the time for their performances of course with some exceptions. I love the professional look while killing the dance choreography 💜
For real! It’s got such a cool feel to it! I love it!
Oh you were shocked by their live voices and this was really hype concert and they were tired here their live singing is on another level
Yeah they really impressed me with how clean they sound live! I loved it!
Their ever live performance is fun to watch. You should watch their live performances. I bet you will like it
I love seeing live shows! Do you have one in particular you’d like me to see?
@@JohnReavesLive I would suggest vocal lines live performance of the truth untold, 0 o'clock, house of cards, dimple, and pied piper. Pied piper includes all 7 members❤ they are amazing songs
B-sides in this context is basically all the songs on the album that's not the title track (lead single) or promoted track.
Oh thank you for explaining that lol I’m metal terms that’s something on the SPECIAL EDITION album after all the original album songs were over
@@JohnReavesLive you're welcome! For me it used to mean that second song on a single that never ended up on an album. Also! You'll encounter the word comeback which just means they're back with a new album or single. New era, new styles and concepts. Exciting times 😁
At 7:00, they're just being their normal crackhead selves. ;) And when it comes to learning a dance, Hobi (J-Hope) can learn a full dance in a matter of minutes, and then he helps teach the rest of the group. He's the main dancer for a reason.
Their live performances are always better than the recordings, and they always sing while dancing, even when the choreo is insane. Please check out the live version of "On" from the Jimmy Kimmel show. ua-cam.com/video/MZh-w2nysuI/v-deo.html
Lol well I think that makes them more “human” and not just some like, let’s put on a show type thing you know! I love to see it! I really can’t wait to see your suggestion! I’ve heard they crush the performance!
Jimmy Fallon Tonight Show
I really like your deep dive into this very important BTS song. Keep it up! BTS’s songs require a lot more effort than many reactors give them.
Hey thank you so much! Just really wanting to give it my own thoughts on their art in an honest and respectful way! Glad you’re enjoying it!
As other commenters have said, most of their 'dance practice' vids are meant to straightforwardly show the choreography as a whole. But anything with a show name in the title (MMA, MAMA, SBS, etc) shows a rehearsal for a specific performance and often includes special dance breaks or features remixes unique to that show. Anything with a description, like "Lovely version" or "Appeal version", etc. is a light-hearted approach playing to the camera. "Halloween version(s)" are well worth watching as they try to nail the moves while wearing costumes ("Go-Go" and "21st Century Girl" are *hysterically* funny) and "War of Hormone Real War version" documents the day V woke up and chose violence. LIVEIT! 💜
thank you so much for explaining those to me!! and the halloween versions seem AMAZING!!! I need to see those soon!
also in Kpop, the idols debut with certain positions for rap, dance and vocalist. although they can be good at everything, being called a dancer means that they excel in that field enough to represent their group.
Oh that’s really cool! So bts just had members that might specialize in those certain fields but are extremely talented in others as well?
@@JohnReavesLive yeah. like in bts the member jungkook is a lead dancer, main vocalist and rapper(tho he rapped more often in their older songs) and the member jhope is the main dancer, a lead rapper and a sub vocalist. all members were trained to dance and in the beginning and some even started from zero experience. I am shocked every time because of their potential too, especially when I first started to get to know them.
MMA 2019 is one of their craziest live performances and its freakin 40 mins long. It wasn't even for their concert but an award show. Btw I would really appreciate if you could largen your screen so that we can see your reaction more clearly.. Like 50:50 would be great
For sure!! I’ll find a good way to split the sizes!! Thanks for the advice
Your BTS journey is perfect, just in time for their most anticipated comeback.. Anthology album will be dropping on June 10 and I hope you react to it because I love all of the old songs included and super excited for the new tracks. I am itching with excitement on this one for real...💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Can’t wait to hear it!! And for real thank you so much! Glad you’re hear for it!
Always amazes me how the rap line dances so well. I know it’s Jhope’s thing but RM and Suga are more rappers, writers, producers so the fact that they can blend in is incredible. Same with the other non-trained (Jin, Tae). As you said, dancing and singing/rapping, performing all at the same time; they set that bar. Not sure anyone else can do that as well as them for a 3-hour concert.
Jeeeez! 3 hours would be insane! I’ve done a 1 1/2 hour show once and it was crazy but we didn’t dance… that’s a whole other level!
im not sure if you realized, this is a live band version of the song too! you can see their band playing at the back :)
Lol I noticed this after my reaction!! Heard the drummer and was like… holy shit!!
@@JohnReavesLive they are Ghost band i saw somone react to a drumcam from a Bts consert.
MMA 2019 is legendary..also Magic Shop
Really stoked to check that out! I know Megan has that on the list!!!!
What I love about their choreographies are that they are often more than just cool dance moves. They are part of the song and add to the lyrics. The hip thrusts in this song is definitely another way of saying "F you".
Oh no.. ☺️😅😂😂 you must watch their live concerts recently.. their even more polished and comfier on stage :) thank you watching the boys!!!! We love your reactions!!!💜💜💜
lol cant wait to see how they have progressed with their performances!!! what's your favorite live show you've seen so far?
FYI. BTS makes ALL BANGERS. Their B-sides are some of my favs. They literally have no skips. Ever.
for real though! their Bsides are so freaking good!
I think you gotta see ‘Mic drop’ mv and the live performance and ‘Ugh’ explanation and live performance. That’s what comes after the cyphers💜
P.S. It’s such a joy to watch you discover them and appreciate them….
Both are for sure on the list! Thanks for the suggestions!
❤️ for real thank you so much for being a part of this! Love the suggestions and I really want to hear Mic Drop and Ugh soon!
Just FOUND you because you’re reacting to MY GUYS: BTS! Don’t know anything about you yet, but I WILL. 63 year old white AMERICAN GREAT GRANDMOTHER here! I tell you that so that you can see the diversity in ARMY (BTS’ FANS). EVERYTHING THEY DO IS PERFECTION! On stage their individual personalities SHINE as they cut up before/during/after lotsa songs! BTS concert in SO-FI, LA, CA in front of 70,000+ PER 4 NIGHTS was out of this world! My 30 year old daughter & I were fortunate to acquire two nights tickets. I hope you DIVE DEEP INTO THESE SUPERLATIVE ARTISTS! My contemporary: Michael Jackson. BTS is 7 MJ’s. Not only are their fans extraordinarily diverse, their MUSIC is so DIFFERENT. They’re classified “K-pop” genre but I SAY BTS I S THE GENRE! You’ll SEE, if you continue. Many blessings to you, young man!
so good to meet you Siri!!!! :) I really love the live shows and cant wait to hear more!!! I'm doing a reaction to and Introduction to BTS soon so I can keep learning more about them :) Hope you have a great rest of your day!!!!
They are all really good dancers but Jhope (the guy in the shorts and green shirt), Jimin (the one in the jean jacket and white hat), and Jungkook (the one in the oversized white button up) are know as the dance line because the are the best...Taehyung (the one in the hoodie) was added to the dance line since this video.
Taehyung really got me with that hood drop! Pretty smooth!! They’re all so good
@@JohnReavesLive yeah, it wasn't exactly intentional but still awesome. I would also suggest you watch MMA 2019. It's a longer video but it's one of the most amazing performances you will ever see.
They are all good dancer. You can,'t be in Bts if you are not equally good. But they do have a main dancer.
Lol that makes sense
I just stumbled across your channel and have marathoned every single one of your videos! I really appreciate how you provide insight as a musician yourself and take the time to understand the lyrics and the meaning of the songs before watching a color-coded video and then the live version. Your commentary is gold as well! BTS has such a wide variety of songs and every one of them is unique and special. I'm constantly blown away by every member's skill. Not only are they some of the most talented musicians on the planet, they're also natural comedians and have formed and unbreakable brotherhood. I'm looking forward to more of your reactions!
ah for real thank you so much for taking the time to watch my videos and comment! that means the word to me you saying so! welcome to the fam! I am looking forward to making many more reactions and hopefully seeing you in the future comments too :)
One of my favorite BTS songs
It’s a banger for sure!
Rock Paper Scissors is their way to solve all situations lol but since you like this and Cypher you should watch Ddaeng but the Rap line and then watch it live and then watch the vocal line cover it live. For the dance line you should definitely check out 3J Butter Meg the Stallion dance! LIVEIT
He's watched the vocal line live here -->>> ua-cam.com/video/pRJEAk7RmXg/v-deo.html 💜
🙌🙌 thank you for staying til the end!! You are awesome!! I loved DDAENG such a cool song and the lyrics are amazing! I did a reaction to the live with vocal line if you want to check it out!
John you are developing so well as a Reactor :) I'm very proud to see the growth you're getting
Ah for real thank you so much 😊
12:12 thats my love Jungkook He is vocal king ^_^^_^
HES SO GOOD!!!!!
Actually the Dance Practice is for fans or dancer who wanna cover the dance, so u can see clearly in one angle camera and no cut like in music video, or song doesn't have music video.
Ohhhh that makes so much more sense!! Thank you for the info!! (Pulls UA-cam up on the living room tv and get on some workout clothes to learn this dance!)
I don't remember we when I heard them say this, but they said they don't practice til they get it right, they practice until they don't make any mistakes.
Love that your coming out with so many videos!!
I’m really having fun with it :)
I love their live performances better also. I think they do sound better live
Right !?!? Honestly it has so much more emotion, I think live shows are the culmination of all their efforts and I love it, I think there’s something about live music that connects to people more, like it’s raw and genuine.
@@JohnReavesLive you are so right
yes their not just performing, they also give their selfs and personalities in their every performances......
I love that about them!
About your comparison of your band practice (instruments and singing) vs a dance practice, BTS have said on occasion that their bodies are their instruments and they play them when they dance to accompany their singing. Once you see a video, the dance is part of the song, and every different performance makes the physical memory impression of the song deeper. This is at least part of the true magic of BTS.
you should watch more of their dance practices, they are INSANE
For sure looking to do more!!
I just finished binge watching your BTS content. I love your reactions and subscribed.
I really like how to learn more you are listening and reacting to the color coded lyrics first, then watching the meaning of the lyrics and then the live performance.
Their lyrics have a lot of deep meanings and if you only reacted to a live version with lyrics you would either miss what is being said or you would miss their performance.
Everything the do has meaning ( lyrically and visually). A lot of their songs are connected too.
If there is a music video for the song I would recommend watching it too and it’s meaning before the live as well. And for fun watch their dance practices too.
Don’t worry how long the videos are Army will watch. We love watching reactors. When we see your reactions we smile and are excited right there with you.
There used to be a show on TV late at night where celebrities would battle rap to see who was better. I think it was called Mic Drop. There was an episode I want to see again because it was so damn funny. So I did a search in UA-cam and this song was listed called Mic Drop. I said to myself what the heck is this and decided to watch. That was the first time hearing BTS. That was in 2017 and I end up watching it several times (completely forgot about the video I was looking for) and proceeded down the rabbit hole wanting to know who they were and why hadn’t heard them before. I thought they were amazing. I went back to when they debuted when they were doing hip hop and rap. I loved it. It reminded me of the 90s. Such a vibe.
Welcome to the BTS rabbit hole!
💜
🙌🙌 for real thank you so much! And welcome to the fam!!
I really am enjoying the way Megan has me set up to react to these she for sure deserves all the hype! I’m just having fun reacting to these and she’s got a MASSIVE list together for me :) thats so cool how you found them! Honestly I think The best things come from accidents like that!
I wasn't a big fan of kpop until I saw their introduction. I think that was my first time seeing them for real. No special song or music video, just a documentary how they became who they are. And omg! I was so impressed. Their struggkes, their efforts, no lip sync, oxygen behind stage, dancing like no other artist... I was stunned! And that is how I became a light army. Not a real army, sorry, but I am too old to invest so much of my time in artists. I donate for animal rescues, so please don't hate me for not being a full army. I respect each member Very much and I hope the future brings more joy by BTS with new songs and live performances after their enlisting.
What a dance practice to start with. I loved your very genuine reaction. The guy in the green shirt and patterned shorts in the dance practice, J-Hope, is their dance captain and he does the dance break at the end of Baepsae on stage. SUGA lost the Rock, Paper, Scissors so had to do a sexy dance at the end in the practice. He doesn’t count himself as a dancer but he’s actually a really good dancer despite a shoulder injury which made using his left arm very painful. He’s had it operated on now but some movements are still difficult for him. Yes, that practice was a polished version ready to go. You can find some videos where they are not at the finished stage but most are like this one, final versions. Having said that they’re always changing little bits even just before going on stage. How they remember the intricacies of each dance is beyond me. They have great chemistry and interact well with each other on stage. If you want to find out more about the cultural context of the lyrics go to DKDKTV Baepsae explained by a Korean.ua-cam.com/video/RP4Qbh2rXFU/v-deo.html
He's reacted to the explanation here! :) ua-cam.com/video/Eq32I6-mWzQ/v-deo.html
ah for real thank you so much for saying so! I have loved these songs and videos so far for sure! I actually did a reaction to that DKDKTV video you can check it out if you'd like!?
"dance practice" videos are performance ready - SOP for all K-Pop. From here they do MV which incorporates many of the moves then live performances that are just like the videoed "practice" - sometimes even better.
That makes sense lol I was full on expecting like tripping and falling or tons of mess ups which is what I would have done. But they crushed it!
Love watching your channel growing John!
For real thank you so much for being a part of it!
This is actually a chill dance for them John you should see Black Swan
Oh, it's coming!
Ohh??? Is it like the movie?!
@@JohnReavesLive the dance is very contemporary inspired and graceful, but its mixed with elements of hip-hop at the same time
Jungkook , jhope, n jimin ...these trios are the members of the official dance line of the group.......they all can dance really good.....jk practice his singing in treadmill while exercising soo he can hold his breath really good..they practice dancing n singing like hours n hours like 15/16 hours.....
I WOULD LIKE TO recomend you attack on bagtan boyz with fun in same concert epilogue
Sorry for my bad english
Thank you for the suggestion!
Your English is better than mine! Thank you for the comment! 🙌 I’ll check them Out for sure
