But he's not a WCW guy anymore, he's your guy, you own his contract, can change his gimmick, whatever. Why??? Because WCW isn't coming back, Vince bought and dismantled it, plucking the wrestlers for his own shows. If Vince had let him shine, elevate the company to new heights, show progression with times, discard WWE's racist reputation, and kept his own ego is check, we wouldn't be having this conversation. Instead, they ran the racist angle, HHH won ( basically saying white is superior, GTFOH with that BULLSHIT !!! ), and the WWE is still viewed as a racist company to this day. I really appreciate this video as an aspiring "black" pro wrestler myself. I met and trained with "Cowboy" Bob Orton Jr last weekend. Yes, Randy's dad! He told me that I have a great look and potential to make it someday. He also recommended me to go to Harley Race's school. I could literally be at the performance center and on NXT within probably a year in a half. I love pro wrestling and want to do it, but with how WWE has never taken a black male wrestlers serious, I think to myself, whats the point 😔 I want to be WWE champion someday, and taken seriously, and not be stuck with a bullshit gimmick like Cryme Tyme, or R-Truth. I can be the change and be the exception, but mostly importantly, I want to just be myself. -Dynamic David
Shad & JTG/Cryme Time - Crime. Shelton Benjamin - Big Mamma. Mark Henry - Sexual Chocolate. Kofi "Coffee" Kingston. Koko B. Ware - Coco = Chocolate. R-Truth - Saggy pant rapper. Kamala - Came in with a Spear.
Big E has everything you need in a WWE Champion, a good look, decent size, charisma, athletic backround, division 1 college football player, powerlifting champion, he can cut a promo & has good in ring skills. Maybe, hopefully he will get a run with the WWE title. But when it comes to WWE & the way they book black wrestlers I will forever be pessimistic.
Shelton Benjamin to me was the most mishandled on this list. I agree he should have had a title reign as he could put on tremendous matches with anyone even with the Gold Standard gimmick. He had more personality than most past WWE Champions. Bobby Lashley should have been a WWE Champion using the Destroyer gimmick he had at TNA. Given the right usage, Lashley can be just as dominant as Lesnar or more.
@Jah Jah King yep! Everytime I say something about the Rock everybody in their momma claim this Nigga is blacker than black. That non black big Samoan loser is whiter than most white ppl. Kim Kardashian is more blacker than the Rock and I'll claim her any day over the Rock.

Simply Exist Yeah he was thats why he won the ECW Championship in less than two years so he should have beaten John Cene for the WWE Championship shortly after that and we all know that Bobby Lashley can squash John Cena like a tiny bug
At the start of the NOD storyline they even wrote themselves into a corner with Farooq who was berating the company for never having a black man as champion. The WWE went on the defensive (to a story angle they themselves came up with!!) and said it had nothing to do with colour. That was the PERFECT time for Farooq to be given the belt and they couldn't even do it then.
I agree. WWE didn't write/book this storyline correctly because they didn't know how to. I bet they figured that WWE would just have the NOD complain about never having a black world champion, instead of pointing out legit issues of the depiction and pushes of black wrestlers in the company.

Mark Henry, if at no other time, should have won the WWE Title after the fake retirement angle when he turned heel on John Cena. All the planets aligned and EVERYTHING begged for him to beat Cena's ass and take that belt even if that meant Cena having 17 total title reigns by taking the belt back the next month.
He shoulda gotten the title for putting up with the embarrassing junk he had to go through there. They tried to get Henry to quit but he still stayed there.

I do agree with 1,2,4,5,&6. However, I don't know about Bad News Brown. Maybe a transitional world champion. But, carrying the company? When the guy came in, he was already about 45 years old, and his body was beaten down already. Plus, I just don't see him being a long reigning champion for the company back during the Hogan era. Maybe attitude era if he was a younger age. So, yeah, those names absolutely SHOULD have been a world champion. But, I just don't see that for Bad News Brown.

Shelton Benjamin definitely was an outstanding performancer and kind of had a main event look to him. I'm not saying Benjamin should've been a top guy or anything but I thought he should've been given at least 1 world title reign. But I really don't understand how people can say Benjamin wasn't top guy worthy because he didn't have mic skills or charisma yet nobody says anything about Bret Hart. You even look at some of these indy jobbers who have been world champion in the past fews years, and I say to myself, "in what world do any of these guys have any business even sniffing the world title?" Some of them aren't even worthy of the Intercontinental title. Shelton Benjamin most likely never became world champion because of the time he was in but if it was today, he'd be a multi time champion.......but then again he probably wouldn't because of his skin color......😛
There was always something missing from Shelton maybe kinda like bobby lashley, one of those guys that wasn't truly passionate about the business,I think if shelton was really passionate he could have been a great champ.
Lord of Darkness Seth Rollins even got the belt before Shelton. Wtf? That just makes no sense to me. He should be working his way up. Like Shelton did when he was starting out. I appreciate you doing this topic so much Schleg, your spot on about Shelton Benjamin. Even HBK co signed him and gave him a pat a finger point after their match basically saying "damn that kid is good". Randy Orton got pushed to the moon with Triple H and Shelton got "his Mama" and it was all because of skin color. Shelton was way better than Randy inside the ring and he definitely was better than Swagger

Liberals aren't as racist, but some are still racist. Vince was a rich Whyte conservative. He made no illusions to being the contrary. He was as racist as they came and we, Blaqs, knew it from the gimmicks he gave his Blaq wrestlers. I was glad when Lashley didn't have a gimmick and Sheldon was initially close to Brock and didn't have a gimmick. It was great when he was part of world's greatest tag team, and u thought for sure he'd break through. But I knew Vince wouldn't allow it. Thank you and you're totally right about The Rock, but I love him and still consider him Blaq, because WWE does when you call them on this.
And don't forget all the skits with Stone Cold that Booker T did, but he never even sniffed a PPV with him, main event or otherwise. That told me he wasn't gonna get the strap and he was mostly used for his entertainment talent.
As you've stated, Ahmed Johnson wasn't that impressive in the ring or on the mic, BUT I have a new number 5 for you. R-TRUTH! He was a veteran when he came to the WWE (again) and DEFINITELY knew how to entertain the fans and make them feel involved. He was SUPER over. They even teased a WWE Championship possibility when he was a number 1 contender back in the day against John Cena and also had a shot against Rey Mysterio when he held it for such a short amount of time. Truth deserved it. He wasn't a technician in the ring, but he was agile and athletic and knew how to get himself over. 🤷🏼♂️

I can see it coming a mile away, Jason Jordan will become the WWE champion at some point of his career, he is another half black wrestler like the Rock, I called this when I first saw him in Nxt, they went out their way to let you know he is half Black with the whole Kurt Angle storyline, They will not put that RAW Universal Championship on a all black Wrestler, maybe the Smackdown because it's the B show, and they will never make a all Black wrestler face of the company, notice when they put the Championship on a all black wrestler (booker T, Mark Henry) it was the B show smackdown, and they always play the role of a heel, Jason Jordan has the best chance out of all of them to win the Universal Championship, I wish they would have pushed Big E, but everybody else can win the belt a thousand times over and over, there are succsessful all Black Athletes in almost every sport that have made their way to the top except for WWE, People hate on TNA but atleast they are not bias against a all Black wrestler having the Heavy Weight Championship !
MrFree2BeMe1 But the problem with you're comment is if Jason Jordan does become a Universal Champion it's still not the wwe championship there # 1 and Main title. The universal title is just like the world heavyweight championships so it's there B title not the wwe championship wich is there A title.
They Universal championship is their main title ! that's why it's called "The Universal Championship" their main Chamionship will always be on their Flagship show Raw !
LouieV6 And it never will become a Prestigious Title. It's just like the world heavyweight championship a B class title. No matter what championships the wwe creates or brings in, The Wwe championship will always be there #1 and Main Title period.
I love Ron Simmons, but the fact remains the only reason he got the title in W.C.W. was because of Bill Watts. Watts loved big tough guys & Simmons fit the bill. As for Mark Henry, he just simply was never a very good wrestler, though he did get better over time.

@@Nostalgicguy2242 Booker should have NEVER been part of a Racism angle in a losing effort. What does that say about WWE?? That radical white superiority is ok??? Who fucking wrote this story and thought it was good enough to release to the public!?!?
I understand, he's a "WCW guy" and Vince hates that.

Maurice Rousseau If I am not mistaken, didn't the WWE put their Title on Sheamus a month after his main roster debut in 2009? Believe it or not I wasn't really watching the WWE product at that time and was watching TNA a lot more.
Andrew Harrington six months

But this Is WWE sadly
Shelton Benjamin to me was the most mishandled on this list. I agree he should have had a title reign as he could put on tremendous matches with anyone even with the Gold Standard gimmick. He had more personality than most past WWE Champions. Bobby Lashley should have been a WWE Champion using the Destroyer gimmick he had at TNA. Given the right usage, Lashley can be just as dominant as Lesnar or more.
Big E should be booked legit and become a WWE Champion

Liberals aren't as racist, but some are still racist. Vince was a rich Whyte conservative. He made no illusions to being the contrary. He was as racist as they came and we, Blaqs, knew it from the gimmicks he gave his Blaq wrestlers.
MrFree2BeMe1 No it isn't! It hasn't existed for long to be considered prestigious enough to be a main title.
LouieV6 And it never will become a Prestigious Title. It's just like the world heavyweight championship a B class title. No matter what championships the wwe creates or brings in, The Wwe championship will always be there #1 and Main Title period.
MrFree2BeMe1 hopefully Velveteen Dream can be big enough to win one. Other than that I don't see any black man winning that title
