Keith, thank you for providing me so much fun!!! I'm a 914 fan since 1980 and I equiped a 914/4 with a 2.7 Carrera engine. Some 911and motorcycle owners had been rather surprised about the acceleration of this car. I appreciate it so much, what you performed here. Greetings from Germany Guenter
what is this witchcraft? buddy was taking corners twice as fast as 911's...I thought they we're meant to handle well? He clearly has super glue on his tires.
I watch your vids. all the time. My dad has a 914-6 GT pumping 254hp. at the wheels, and I'm in the process of converting my 76 2.0 into a 2.7L 6. Keep the vids. coming!!
i just keep watching clips of this guy over and over and over. can't get enough! he is definately sick!!!! hope to meet and talk with him some day. (maybe pay for a lesson or 10!)
I’ve kept my ‘75 2.0L 914 for over 27 years. I’m pretty sure that this is why. damn, I love seeing a Fourteen eating up the others, Damnit! I converted a ‘75 Carrera to a 3.2L w/G50, but the 914 is still my Baby!
Nice driving, and the light weight of the 914 really shows on how much later you get on the brakes. Would you mind telling where you found that dash mounted rear view mirror, I want one for my 914. Thanks.
WOW is all I can say, it looks like if you had a flashing blue light on top of your 914-6 making way through the traffic, as if the other cars were in another race. Next time take off the Nitrous, HA HA HA Just Joking, Looks really good and definitely different gearing. Would like to see the rest of the post so edit as fast as you drive so we can all enjoy your fantastic driving and wonderful sound of the 914-6. Thanks for posting Quilmes
about a 2:22 in traffic. I've done 2:17 in my rx7. It's not outrageiously modified obviously by that time. I'm surprised how slow the other guys are going.
The engine in this car is a 2808cc 6 cylinder with carbs. Nothing too special - stock rods and steel valves with a liitle head work. I do have the whole video, but youtube has a 10 minute limit. I just posted Lap 4 from that race, which is a clearer lap with two interesting passes. I am converting some video from other tracks - Lime Rock, Mosport, Summit Point, etc. and will post a lap or two from each.
I would build the 2 liter out to a 2.5, add some compression, and PMO carburetors. If that isn't enough, drop a 3.2 liter 6 cylinder in there. If you go over 200hp the 901 trans will need a cooler and maybe replacement with a 915
I just bought a 914 and I need to get good power out of it. What's your setup? I was thinking of putting a turbo on the stock 2.0l engine....thing is slow stock
5 stars and favorited mostly because he blows by a 928S coming on to the backstrecth. I have to show this to my dad... who happens to own a 928S :) 914s RULE!
obviously the first lap of any race is slow due to not being at speed when the green flag drops. and passing 22 cars on the first lap (and being help up at spots) adds to the time. a fast clear lap in this race was a 2:01 flat. there is a video of what that looked like here as well.
I don't think so none of the cars have tags/number plates. And all of the cars have loads non road legal parts and bumpers bar one that is a 993 GT2 which is a road going race car. No it's just the 911 is a beetle set up the 914 is a more modern mid-engine set up, it beat all of the 40+ 911's in Le mans .
@Ej205scoob Tons of power isn't going to make a car handle like that. The 914 is the best handling car Porsche ever built. He was weaving through cars IN THE CORNERS!
No sold that car back around 2006. It was crashed shortly after. I have 2 other 914s now along with a Boxster I track and a Cayman and an early 911. My race car now is a black 914 that I have in a couple more videos under my name Keith Peare. I hope to make more videos this year. Thanks

nice...late to brake...early to gas...and a little bit of the old out/in/out...makes me smile!

moar powah, lighter weight, better brakes, better weight distribution, lower cg... this car has it all.

Great vid. I am a proud owner of a 911 and a 914-6 and it is nice to see the 914-6 run to its potential. Best handling road car Porsche ever produced.
During this video, there were less catch fences.
Great driving lines through traffic.
What a great first lap!
Back then, there were not as many bleachers.
Did you see how smooth his steering input is, nice handling car with a great driver. Best, Mark
I like how he is just creaming all the other cars, great driving, fun to watch
handles like its on rails, fast little Porsche
This is a 914?! And it's passing all these 993s, 944s, and 928s?
Incredible!
Awesome drive! He passes everybody else during this first lap! Unbelievable!
Awesome! I miss my 914.
Nice video!! Great
I swear I thought the car was a modified TIV 2.0 liter passing all those cars or was it at Lime Rock before you switched to the 2.7 liter?
Nice driving, and the light weight of the 914 really shows on how much later you get on the brakes. Would you mind telling where you found that dash mounted rear view mirror, I want one for my 914. Thanks.
Now that was awesome!
Very nice run. Havent been at there in a while )

The only guy in the race with balls!
The second to last pass, driven !
That didn't take long. Nice driving. What engine and transmission you running? What kind of specs done on engine?
its cool to watch it knowing just a few hours ago i was on that track for the audi club
now thats fucking driving, no fear no mercy just pure instincs.
the grid was set based on qulaifying. it rained during qualifying and thus it was not representative of dry times.

ked911 what kind of calipers-breaks are you running and wheels-tires?
thanks would really appreciate it.
1972, but highly modified
I just bought a 914 and I need to get good power out of it. What's your setup? I was thinking of putting a turbo on the stock 2.0l engine....thing is slow stock
holy shit you gobbled alot of cars!
it was a 2.8L six cyl.
how was the grid set? it looked pretty random
That gear ratio is nuts, what the hell's in that thing?
I'd love to see this 914 mixing it up with the Brits on some of their courses. Fantastic driving, by the way.
Was this a four or six that humiliated the field?
This 914 is eating up the pack what kind of engine set up do you have
5 stars and favorited mostly because he blows by a 928S coming on to the backstrecth. I have to show this to my dad... who happens to own a 928S :)
914s RULE!
Passing 911s.... Nicely done.
You're a better driver than I'll ever be.
what exactly is on this thing
WOW!
How it that even possible?

Like a knife in fresh butter 👍👍👍
Hey Keith why are you beating up all these club guys? You know it's not fair!
He appeared to be racing amongst owners who stock a number decal on their car and headed out onto the track....👍

I love 914's
Where's the sound track!
the original porsche 914 had the same motoe in them as the volkswagen 412
@Ej205scoob Tons of power isn't going to make a car handle like that. The 914 is the best handling car Porsche ever built. He was weaving through cars IN THE CORNERS!
Lol. THAT'S racing! I can't believe all the 911/ 993's he passed. Now I have to Google the CAR! :)
How does a 914 pass a 928 on a straight? =-/
LOL !! That's a savage 6 cylinder eating everything in it's way.
overtakes everyone in the corners because he is so light and has the engine in the middle :)
Good technique
the others are just sneaking round the course... no?
Lots of people under dog , 914 , its has good has any 911 ,
And its a pass on the home stretch for the WIN!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
I'm getting this car from my dad... I'm so excited!!!!(:
Sounds like a 2.8L
Yes it was a 2.8l
@@EP914 Still have her?

@@EP914 Your 914 dominated that race. Really fun to see. I'm finishing up my 914-6 GT with a 2.7 in Signal Orange
A 2:28 lap time is not even close fast..
xD fucking giant killer! -_-
2 people are the white Porsche
i think i came
Who are the 2 numb skulls that disliked this video??!! Get bent
WTF? Why is this sooo fast? It is completely decimating 911s and 928s. This is ridiculous and makes no sense!
What did I just watch? This is insane!!!
