Megumin and Yunyun are 13 at the start, they have their birthday sometime in the story and become 14 and yes this doesn't make it better.
The part you do not know about yet is there is another Crimson Demon girl called Arue who is also the same age and she plays in the same league as Luna (the barkeep), Wiz and Wolbach in regards to you know what.

When Kazuma called Darkness “Boobs”, I realized this was one of the best episodes of anime ever made.

Well, Kazuma is 16, so from all the girls in his party Megumin is actually the closest to his age.

Yeah, so while he was definitely being a massive perv to megumin and yunyun on this ova, it's much less creepy than if he was say an actually fully grown adult from our world. Since currently he's like a junior in highschool hitting on a freshmen in highschool, still a bit sketchy but not anywhere near as bad as like somebody in their late 20s early 30s.

the strange thing in the manga and light novel kazuma is 17, meguimin is 16 and the rest are the same. for some reason they made her 13???! in season 1.
@@jebes909090 None of that is true. Manga and LN have the same ages as the anime. Kazuma is 16, Megumin and Yun Yun are around 13, Darkness is 18, Aqua is ??? (but the LN lists her as looking around Kazuma’s age), Wiz is eternally 20 (actually even older, but keeps her looks from before she turned into a Lich), and Eris is ??? (same as Aqua, but is her junior so likely counts as ‘looks like 15.’) So technically the main cast are underaged with only Darkness and Wiz as the only adults.
@@cranesilentlyplays8084 I'm pretty sure Kazuma is 17 and Megumin is 14. Megumin is 13 in the prequel spinoff that takes place about a year before this.
I know it may not look it, because she's more developed. But Yunyun is actually the same age as Megumin. Also, in their village, they are considered adults. As Crimson Demons, once they've learned magic, they are adults.

Yun Yun's episode in Season 2 is episode 2.
Yun Yun also appears in episode 3 and she briefly waits for everyone at their mansion between episodes 7 to 10.
It makes me cry that all Yun Yun wants is a good friend.
Konosuba is still one of the best anime series when it comes to humor.
And also musicwise. I love the outros.
Btw, there are short afterscenes in the preview for the next episodes.
When you rewatch the series maybe you wait then a little.
When I rewatch the series I normaly wait with the first OVA until Yunyun gets introduced in season 2.
It fits more storywise.
So, now I can only looking forward to the season 2 and I promise, it gets better! :D

I hope Aqua never becomes the love interest. She is like top 1 worst girl of all time. Every scene that's funny with her is mostly because of her suffering.
She's beautiful, I'd buy her expensive wine every day. I'd make Darkness earn me money to be able to afford it.

And the thing most people forget is that in most of Japan the age of consent is 13. (This is why so many anime characters are in that age range)
Granted it's 16 or 18 for people to get married, but as far as Japan is concerned, 13 is the age people can be sexually active.
(I actually thought it was 14, but I went and looked it up before typing to double check, and it's 13 apparently)

When i heard about people spoke about age of consent in japan, it start to go back more and more at first it was 16 now it already 13. WTF!!?
@@wava6772 in reality it's more complicated, for the most cases would apply 16+.
@@wava6772 Yeah, though I think that is true for specific prefectures (think states) in japan. I believe nation wide it's generally around 15-16. Sorta like in the us where nationwide it's around 18 for sexual consent/marriage, but there are a few states (looking at you alabama) where it is under 15 for teens, and like 16 for adults with teens, but what else do you expect of the deep south?
@@shadowfiresword Yeah, Though even in the case of the lower ages (13-15), I believe that both people need to be around the same age or up to 16-18 in order for that to work (it’s more often for stuff like arranged marriage, iirc).
This OVA technically takes place halfway through Season 2.
But there is a load of Backflip in logic just to make it happen.
Because if you included Yun Yun, yet where is Megumin's Cat that was shown in early Season 2?

They're great to watch on a shitty day, so I used to stock them. Recently though, I've watched them the day they came out...
Lore about the episode (mostly about Yun Yun and related to the episode.) This episode is non-canon, but has canon info/Yun Yun, which is from the LN. This OVA was released only in Japan with the purchase of the 9th LN, so people would already know her and didn’t air on TV. 8:35 - Yun Yun and Megumin are the same age (technically Yun Yun is younger by a few months.)
You’ll find out in the movie why Yun Yun is ‘grown’ compared to Megumin, despite being the same age, so I won’t discuss it here. 12:53 - Kazuma’s being honest, he really did accept his death and stopped caring. 15:09 - He only has 2 canon deaths so far. 16:02 - We haven’t seen the capitol, he was arrested at the guild. The OVA technically reveals Kazuma’s inner thoughts from the LN: Aqua is not a love interest option, he only sees Darkness as attractive physically, and he finds attraction towards Megumin (he technically didn’t have any noticeable thoughts for Wiz, but he did think about the difference between Yun Yun and Megumin in the LN.)
Edited - I realized I didn’t say last episode, but the Demon King didn’t get involved against the Destroyer, because the castle’s barrier is just that much stronger and they could just wait out the Destroyer and it could wipe out everything for them.
I just wanna give you a heads up about Megumi:"
If I remember correctly from the manga, she's like a year or two younger than Kazuma (but indeed 14). Episode nr best (a.k.a episode 9) does make it look like Kazuma wants to dream about someone much younger than him, but it is later revealed to be the other way around (he's 16 himself).
If you're still uncomfortable despite this extra lore, I don't blame you. It doesn't help that characters say things that make fun of Megumin's small stature and call out Kazuma being trash at the same time
Kazuma wants to dream about everyone. As long as she's cute or hot it's fine. And both Darkness and Megumin are gorgeous.
It’s just so good. This ova and the series. Season 2 is great. Can’t wait for 3.
