    Hello Andy I’ve just watched your video and how you have set your fishroom up which is a credit to you and just goes to prove we don’t need a large garage or basement to enjoy our fish or it cost us a fortune to run especially in these difficult times with energy cost being what they are !!
    I’m just in the process of having some much needed building work done and once finished I will be coming into the hobby I want my fishroom to be around the same size as your own , fully insulated including the floor and I do like the heating the room idea so something I shall be certainly trying 👍. I’ve now subscribed and liked your channel and look forward to watching and learning from your other videos

    I’m guessing Andy is from the West Midlands. The very coldest you’d ever get is probably around -5c or 23f but that will be at the extreme end and only for very short stints. Most of the coldest bits of winter will be a few degrees above freezing with a few odd snow days. A lot warmer than most places at our latitude.

    • @andywoodscichlids2942
      @andywoodscichlids2942  3 роки тому +4

      I've not a clue. I keep my eye on water temp not room temperature. I'll turn my heater up after a water change, then right back down again once all tanks have stabilised.
      Once stabilised the heater is set just high enough to keep everything good trial and error. I just keep checking water temp.
      Smaller the air space the more economical it is. So the more tanks you cram in the better.

    That was a great video....do you ever get condensation in fish room?I'm suffering in my shed on roof had to remove it.

      Very little condensation. The shed is mostly warner than the tanks, so no condensation. Also all the tanks are well covered with glass sliders. Thanks for watching happy fishkeeping to you sir.

    Hi Andy, how do you deal with condensation and mould building up in your fish room?? Also would a small fan improve air movement around your shed, improving your heating bill??

    Great video thanks ! Juat wondering did you have to reinforce the floor of the shed?

      I put joists running across the opposite direction to the originals. Only were the feet of the racking are.
      Your OK as long as you don't put racking feet directly onto the floor boards. Make sure the feet are on joists only.
      Hope that makes sense 🤔🤔 to you.

    Soo are you able to only run sponge filters on your tanks as filtration because you perform weekly water changes? I’m trying to lower my electric bill taking care of roughly 600 gallons total

    Great video Andy just wondering I just bought a 700 litre fish tank but not sure that my floor will take the weight as any tips

    • @andywoodscichlids2942
      @andywoodscichlids2942  3 роки тому

      I don't know what type of floor you have.
      My tip is to spread the weight out eventually over load bearing points. Ie beams and floor joists.
