    Love the look of the fish room. I too as a child remember the excitement of going to the pet stores and local aquariums. There is something special about a Mom and Pop shop that even to this day I love to checkout even when on vacation. Thanks for the cool video.

      Aesthetics and enjoyment should be the point of a hobby, not profit. Grew and bred Orchids for 35 years between fish rooms made enough to build a huge greenhouse and then it was just burning money after I got hurt, but it was my passion. Now about 10% of them will come from San Francisco to West Texas, but only after the "fish room "(nothing so neat as yours get completed.

    Just found this video. Very cool. I'm planning my fish room, and it was very helpful in planning it out. I also just want a place a hang out and enjoy the fish, and get a break from all my cats. I love my cats, but they can drive me nuts sometimes. I have successfully breed some fish fry already, wasn't planning on it, but it happened. I have a ways to go, but look forward to the final product. Cheers.

    Yours is definitely the best-looking fish room that I’ve seen. Some of the fish rooms that I’ve seen look like meth-labs, not places to relax and enjoy beautiful, healthy, lively fish.
    Thank you for this terrific, informative, and enjoyable video.

    Nice to get a good view of the whole room, its beautiful! Do you think there is any overlap between enjoyment and breeding fish? More specifically i heard you mention big ponds in warmer climates. Is it even worth it in an urban environment? I know that's a big question I don't need a big answer :D thanks for another great video, I think having fish around helps keep a healthy mind, and i bet your kids and their friends love it!

    • @PrimeTimeAquatics

      There can be overlap, but you are right. In my area - Midwest - it’s not nearly as efficient to breed fish compared to down south.

    I am catching up on all the videos on your channel and this was insightful. I am just about done building out the area for my fish display and I am wondering what the spacing is you have on your racks? Spacing being from the top of the bottom tank to the bottom of the top shelf if that makes sense. Thanks

    Hi Prime Time Aquatics, I am currently in the process of upgrading my tank for my male Black Telescope and female Ryukin goldfish... currently they are about 10 cm in length and squished into a 5 gallon tank (I feel like they have tripled in size since I got them 6 months ago) along with a pleco. I am hoping to add an additional fish or two with this tank upgrade. What size tank would you recommend I go for? I am considering leaving the pleco in the 5 gallon until I have learned more about his preferred 'life style' because he's seemed a bit stressed (he seems pale in colour & is not very active) living with the goldfish.

    • @PrimeTimeAquatics
      @PrimeTimeAquatics  6 років тому

      Hi Nicole. If it were just the two goldfish and the pleco (Bristlenose?) I would probably go with a 55 or 75 gallon. If I were planning on adding a couple more goldfish I think I'd probably go even bigger given how large and round they get. : -) Maybe around 125 gallon. Both of your goldfish can get 6-8" easily. The pleco can go with them as long as it's not sucking on their slime coat or small enough where it could be eaten - just give him cave and make sure to feed him right before turning the light off so he gets enough food (sinking pellets or Repashy works great). Hope this helps!

    • @jayscrazzyobsessions4304

      Rick Huang he dose he mentions it around 13:00

    • @PrimeTimeAquatics
      @PrimeTimeAquatics  7 років тому

      I do use a dehumidifier. At some point I am going to start collecting that water to use in breeding some of my soft-water, low pH fish.

    • @TheTurtle626
      @TheTurtle626 7 років тому

      I read a thread in a forum, talking about "how to reuse the water from dehumidifier ?", some guys (yes, more than one) add the water into a tank directly, several fished died over night.

    • @PrimeTimeAquatics
      @PrimeTimeAquatics  7 років тому +2

      Hi Rick, I know some people who add dehumidifier water to their soft-water, low pH tanks on a regular basis. The key is to add it in small amounts until the desired hardness and pH is reached. If one were to continually just dump the dehumidifier water into their tank every time the bucket filled it would quickly kill the fish by crashing the pH and greatly reducing water hardness over a short period of time! Thanks for the great question
