Another cheese tip: If you have multiple controllers you can add up to 3 more players. This will increase your item inventory slots from 1 backup item to 4. You can also use one of your other characters to act as a checkpoint in front of the Charging Chucks. If you fall, you'll respawn as a bubble as long as at least one other player is active. The disadvantage is that the bubbles cover your view a bit and the camera gets wonky from time to time. Additionally, you can also skip multiple runs by making four characters grab the pole at the same time. At the pole, pop the bubbles, two characters grab the remaining two, and then you just jump on the pole twice and instantly cleared four characters.

The easiest method to get the Lucky Bell is playing Flower-5: Sprawling Savanna Rabbit Run. You just catch the small rabbit at the start and run to the end. Only a couple of enemies will even come close to you.
While Flower-5 might appear to be an easier selection to clear Lucky Bells, Flower-9 can save you 20 extra seconds. It requires some precision, but using toad's pounce boost, killing multiple fire bros towers at once can get you a clear time below 50 seconds, which I don't think is possible for Flower-5. The difference is very slight, but it's effective in the end, Mushroom-2, Flower-1, Flower-2, Flower-5, and Flower-11 (and maybe a couple others I missed) are all alternatives for grabbing lucky bells.
YOOOOO... THIS IS A META... I've been stuck trying to beat champ road and never make it... I had over a 100 plus 1ups and lost them all... shiiii I'm definitely going to try this out...

This works scary good. Was struggling with this yesterday not getting past the second section, and after watching this I got all the way to 3/5 keys on the final level before my own error made me fall.
I'm safe to say that I finished this level with Princess Peach only. With a lot of loading my save file and Restarting the level if I lost the Power Ups I needed, and a lot of tries later, I've finally finished it. And after that, I collected my two stamps I needed. And with that, I'm done with Princess Peach solo mode. That was fun. Just using one character for a level (usually the attempt follows) and using a different character off-screen for Stamps and stuff, and for the other half of the game, it was fun! The Tanooki and Lucky Cat Suit are definitely the combo for this level.
Thanks for this. Before the video I couldn’t get past the swinging spikes. Now after I’ve gotten all five keys until Luigi decides it’s a good time to yeet himself off the pad.

Champions road is a bloody joke to me because I am GODLIKE at this game since the Wii U days with my champions road speedrun videos and I even beat champions road FIRST TRY TWICE in my live streams as Rosalina. The second one was WITHOUT ITEMS to add more of a challenge for myself since I beat it first try last time in my New Year’s Eve stream and as for my latest speedrun video I beat it WITHOUT ITEMS AND WITHOUT TAKING DAMAGE with a PB of 244 on the clock.
This was a huge help. I feel like a bit of a chump for beating this with power-ups (especially the bell for breaking the spike swings), but at least I did it. Would be nice to edit in that you don't need to quit out of the game, you can just load the save after you die.
I hear you. After beating it with all 5 characters with Tanooki Suits (I don't use a Lucky Bell like he does), I decided to go back and beat it with all characters and no power-ups. I have done it with everyone but Toad, still working on that.
That was freaking awesome! Ive been trying to just GET to Crown World since February. I wondered what the difference was between those cat bells.. this is amazing! I don't think I'll ever be able to do it but watching you do it was very satisfying
The super bell allows you to climb up walls (jump onto a wall before moving joystick), scratch enemies (Y button) and do a cat dive (when in the air hold Y). The lucky bell has all these features too, but it has the extra ability to take out enemies simply by ground pounding (jump before pressing ZL). Holding ZL while in the lucky bell suit allows you to be in an invincible statue for more time.
I'm a bit late, but thank you so much for making this. Even with this guide, it still took me a good 1.5 hours to beat it with Toad, but then I beat it with Mario in 2 tries, and Rosalina in like 5 tries.
Thank you so much, it took me so long but I did it I really appreciate your help. Mario 3D World was like one of the 1st video games I ever owned and now being more grown up and finished the Game that an 9 year old boy played but a 16 year old Man finished.
I've spent about 4 hours on this so far with Mario...no leaf. I've made it to the last part 5 or so times. Just working on timing/patterns but it takes so long to get back there each time to practice lol
After spending another hour on it this morning...I broke came in to the level with a tanooki suit and beat the level on my first try. F that last part lol
Also I recommend saving after you get the power ups so in case you lose the level you go to save files and load the one you are playing you will go to your last save point.
I love you, It took me so long to beat champs road and your power-up combo with Peach was my go to because she has the extra bit of airtime with the tanooki mix with her ability
Took me around 300+ attempts to complete the level as normal Mario (No power ups) and to me that is an achievement, I replayed the same parts so many times I have my own strategies for each section that are considerably faster An example of a useful strategy I figured out is on the chagrin Chuck section, get to the very edge and just sprint to the other side, you will go fast enough to not even have to jump, while avoiding all enemies.
Nice! I've actually came up with new strategies, this video's now a month outdated from the new me! Here's one for the chargin chuck section: Instead of rushing forth, ground pound on the 2nd closest trio of blocks to lure the three nearby chucks to the front. Then run on the lower section without them in the way.
@@PenguinsRecords I also used the same method as the person who commented here, in my opinion it’s quicker and still doesn’t have risk, at the end you should just jump and wall jump (and dive if necessary) and it should work with every character.
You can sprint over the whole chargin' chuck section. Just hug the back wall and run to the right. Only jump at the very end and then either wall jump to clear the gap or use any air movement powerup/ character.
Wall jump to clear the gap. - I assume you mean using the wall after you gain full speed to raise your altitude and then dive to the platform. I could see that working and could inspire a more challenging version (if they didn't already create technical-movement mods). Of course thought, I prefer to use the lower bars after luring the chucks and jump over the final one. But I digress, the video's made to make the level as easy as possible without abusing the game.
Thanks so much for the advice Before i Had tried the exact same stuff you did Except I only had 2 tanooki suits Never thought Of Useing the lucky cat suit Too Going to Attempt It Now!

Thank you soooo much. I’ve been started playing this game at February 2021 and unlocked this level at April 2021. And after so long I’ve FINALLY BEATEN this level at 2022. This level is SOOOOO HARD that even harder then Darker Side from Super Mario Odyssey. HUGE THANKS!
I had that game for almost three years ago and this is my first time beating this game. Every time I get to the last level I always lose all my lives and had to start all over again and just gave up. But this video is very helpful thank you. 😊
@Archie Casey You go to a level that has a secret exit. For example, 4-2. Then you die enough times to get it to show up. Then you get 2 or more players to be able to put an invincibility leaf in your storage. Then once you take the secret exit and have the leaf in your storage once you get out of the level it will still be in your storage instead of turning into a regular leaf. If you ever complete a level without using the invincibility leaf, will never be able to get it in that level ever again. So that means if you already did 4-2 or 1-2 you can't do it.
I’ve played this game ever since I got my Wii U which was at least like 7 years ago maybe and I’ve been grinding everyday until I got to this stage which I failed continuously, but now I can finally beat it thanks to your help!

I remember taking 4 hours to beat it once with peach. Now it took me 30 mins to do it 4 more times. This video was extreme help btw that's for sure
Platform fighters are extremely similar in movement to platformers overall so it's pretty much transferable skill so yeah you have muscle memory. It had the same effect for me backwards, my platforming skills made getting to mid-high level in smash quite easy
Honestly, thank you! This method helped me so much, and seeing the gamplay made it easier to figure out! Beat it in the next hour because... well, Champions Road is still tough. Nevertheless, thank you!
i've tried to beat this level for the past hour, and the wall jump section with the ant troopers was the part i kept dying on, i never thought about using power ups lol. thanks a ton for this method update: just beat it as peach (and got the peach stamp, because i played the rest of the game as peach before now), and it was easy enough i feel like i could probably beat it with the other 4 as well
Thanks so much!!! I beat this with all 5 characters, green stars, stamp, and golden flagpole!!!! ! And I beat the Mystery House Marathon numerous times with all characters! !!!
0:38 I would recommend Flower-5 instead; it's more linear, making it less boring to do more than once, and it offers _two_ Lucky Bells, both from catching rabbits. And there's next to no opportunities to accidentally lose it.
I can definitely try that out as an alternative, more efficient or not. Regarding the Lucky Bell, while having two lucky bells is a feeling of power, this strategy requires only one, since the Tanooki Leaf plays a vital role in beating the level. In the end, it will matter if I can clear the level under ~50-60 seconds, as that's usually how long it takes to grab the bell in 11-9. I'll try out your recommendation when I get a chance.
Also note that there's a save/load option in the pause menu so you don't have to sit through the title screen every time you fall. I used Cat Peach on my runs (with a second bell in reserve), with multiplayer abuse to get the other four character stamps; it probably helped knowing how to do the cat dive trick which is actually still faster than Peach's run speed.
😅 I feel dumb. I now realize that I load files when practicing my 81% speedruns on Bowser's Fury. Regarding other reserves, I wanted to provide an easy method beating the level, without exploiting the other gameplay mechanics.
Okay, I have tried out 11-5. Regarding technicality, as you said, it is more linear so it is pretty straight forward, and if you play as toad, you can grab the lucky bell pretty quickly. However, regarding time consumption and efficiency, it still does not beat 11-9, both in Clear times and the seconds-to-points countdown. Using the statue ability and cat dashes can quickly dispose of the goomba towers and got me a clear time of 46 compared to 11-5's 50. I agree to put 11-5 out on the table, but 11-9 is still the faster option.
@@Sunnysketchster I'm going to deduce from other comments that Peach might be the easiest choice out of the 5, Toad is probably the hardest, which is why I never beat the WiiU version before it broke.

I just beated this level just with the lucky bell, so i could get hit 2 times in the lasers part. But I will apply this method for the other 4 runs
I finally beat this level after watching this video and practicing for several hours. This is the hardest Mario level I've beaten so far.
Have you done The Perfect Run on Super Mario Galaxy 2?
@@elprofegardner9061 much easier
spent 4 hours trying this level till I gave up and looked this up
after that I completed it first try - it really helped thanks a lot
Glad I could help!
After so much, sobbing, crying, and charging in rage with suicidal thoughts, you have saved me from my misery.
*Thank you* ;-;
Champions road is a bloody joke to me because I am GODLIKE at this game since the Wii U days with my champions road speedrun videos and I even beat champions road FIRST TRY TWICE in my live streams as Rosalina.
And here I am getting comments complaining about how hard the level is
@@PenguinsRecords because people have a skill issue 🤣🤣💀🤦♀️😈
I'm trying to beat this level with every character WITHOUT power-ups, and I still have to beat it with Toad, and to be honest I'm terrified :D
I can't blame you XD
Powerupless Champion's Road is much more technical to play.
@@PenguinsRecords I'm still amazed I beat it with the other characters (power-upless)
Спасибо тебе большое!!! Твой способ похождения мне очень помог!!! Трюк со счастливым бубенчиком просто сверх крутой!!!!!)))
This was a huge help. I feel like a bit of a chump for beating this with power-ups (especially the bell for breaking the spike swings), but at least I did it. Would be nice to edit in that you don't need to quit out of the game, you can just load the save after you die.
Well actually some levels need power ups to be beaten
I hear you. After beating it with all 5 characters with Tanooki Suits (I don't use a Lucky Bell like he does), I decided to go back and beat it with all characters and no power-ups. I have done it with everyone but Toad, still working on that.
3 years late... thank you so much. also this is the cutest tutorial ive ever watched. idk how else to say it but thank you so much for this video!!
Glad it helped!
I have to thank you, with this tutorial, I was able to beat it with ALL 5 characters. 😁
Thank you for the advice. I started dancing when I beat this level
That was freaking awesome! Ive been trying to just GET to Crown World since February. I wondered what the difference was between those cat bells.. this is amazing! I don't think I'll ever be able to do it but watching you do it was very satisfying
Thank you :)
F that last part lol
i finally beat this level today using this video as a guide. THANK YOU!! 🤩
i was almost giving up on doing this and you appeared in my recomendations in the most perfect time, thanks man
I finally got all stamps. Had to beat this level five times. I can confidently say that I have mastered it
Also I recommend saving after you get the power ups so in case you lose the level you go to save files and load the one you are playing you will go to your last save point.
Good point. Yeah.
😅 Fortunately, the run was made for the video, but that is a good point I don't go over.
I love you, It took me so long to beat champs road and your power-up combo with Peach was my go to because she has the extra bit of airtime with the tanooki mix with her ability
Top tier content right here
or in the water section you can skip it by climbing the wall on the side
I heard so
I wish I would have tried that. The water part screwed me so many times when I had fully loaded power ups
I’ve just been using the normal cat suit for this. Thank you for the help!
I have to say this is the hardest level in the game as I have died numerous times, but I did beat it in the end.
the easiest way to get the leaf is to go to 1-2 and grab a invincibility leaf and beat it. (You can't get a invincibility leaf in 1-1.)
How did you get past the creepers?
Nice to see someone make mistakes while they explain. Makes it less daunting. Great video!
Took me around 300+ attempts to complete the level as normal Mario (No power ups) and to me that is an achievement, I replayed the same parts so many times I have my own strategies for each section that are considerably faster
An example of a useful strategy I figured out is on the chagrin Chuck section, get to the very edge and just sprint to the other side, you will go fast enough to not even have to jump, while avoiding all enemies.
This guide is actually insanely useful. I got to the 2nd star on my first attempt using this guide!
Thanks so much for the advice Before i Had tried the exact same stuff you did Except I only had 2 tanooki suits Never thought Of Useing the lucky cat suit Too Going to Attempt It Now!
Good luck ;)
I never though of using the lucky bell to break the spikes
This helped a ton. Just beat the level today. I played as Luigi. I'm not confident in timing my jumps. Used the tanooki and cat suit.
I am very close to unlocking world clown, i have 100% every level except for 5 on world flower that i am currently working on. i'll update you for when i get there!
Best of luck. The Rabbit can be tedious to catch. First time, my speed matched the bunny's and I had no luck catching it. The second time, I got to it before it got to full speed. I would use cat toad, and quickly build up speed to catch it before it can run away ;). The other 2 Stars aren't as hard to get.
@@PenguinsRecords Yes, it was quite hard, but toad really helped with cutting corners. i finished and unlocked world crown, but i am taking a break before i take on that challenge. quick question, will there be a stream today? i am not sure if i am available so i wanted to check in.
I will try my best to. I have a cough but I don’t think that will stop me. I plan to do a 3D world stream tonight and do a Mario maker level play and multiplayer room tomorrow
@@PenguinsRecords Sounds fun! i am not sure if i can make it to the Mario maker stream, i will try my best though.
@@PenguinsRecords Hey there! i went at Champions road for the first time and happen to beat it my 7th try! On the Wii U i was unable to complete it and gave up, so i was excited when i reached the goal. Your method really helped with both the Beep block and Fuzzy section, so all i can say is, thanks!
Instead of restarting the game save your file before you go in and if you die load the file you are playing
I need to update the description, don't I.
oh dang I did not read it :/
I had that game for almost three years ago and this is my first time beating this game. Every time I get to the last level I always lose all my lives and had to start all over again and just gave up. But this video is very helpful thank you. 😊
That's awesome!
The way I did it was smuggling the invincibility leaf in there.
Yeah I noticed that when I did it
Dont worry
@Archie Casey You go to a level that has a secret exit. For example, 4-2. Then you die enough times to get it to show up. Then you get 2 or more players to be able to put an invincibility leaf in your storage. Then once you take the secret exit and have the leaf in your storage once you get out of the level it will still be in your storage instead of turning into a regular leaf. If you ever complete a level without using the invincibility leaf, will never be able to get it in that level ever again. So that means if you already did 4-2 or 1-2 you can't do it.
I love Bowsers Fury but I think it's too short
O
I’ve played this game ever since I got my Wii U which was at least like 7 years ago maybe and I’ve been grinding everyday until I got to this stage which I failed continuously, but now I can finally beat it thanks to your help!
OH MY GOD THIS WORKED SO GOOD. I NEED TI BEAT IT WITH ROSALINA! :D I’m subbing
I finally beat it. Now I just have to do the HARDEST part which is beat EVERY LEVEL with every character, OH NO😫
I feel so pathetic; I couldn't even get past the first section cuz those octorok looking bastards kept killing me. This just made everything so much easier. Tysm!
Those are called Octoombas.
@@TheNintendoNerd-wd7bv Thanks. I managed to at least make it to the ant part, but I forgot the cat suit doesn't let you wall jump that well so I'll find a better strategy.
Last spot of this level is the hardest. I can't get through. But I will try my best.
You can do it!
(Tanooki + Peach or Rosalina is my suggestion for the greatest chance for survival)
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! I've been trying to 100% this game, and I'm almost there! Now I just need to beat the game as every character to 100% it! I've struggling on champions road for atleast a week, and I searched up a tutorial, and this helped me! So again, thank you.
i was gonna get this game on switch soon so thanks for appearing in my reccs
Please. Don't let me stop you.
@@PenguinsRecords you didn't i'm saying you appeared at the perfect time
Good :) Just checking.
Excellent method, I just needed this for the ending part.
my method for beating champions road easily is having 4 tanooki suits in my inventory (multiplayer only).
I thought I was so smart when I figured out how to reload the save file... Great tips!
me watching this even though i beat it with all characters already: *interesting*
@Verx xx then scroll
I finally beat this last night because of your strategy. Thank you so much for this. 🤩
I'm sorry did I develop a muscle or something? Ever since I started playing smash (off topic I know) I have bin slaying platformers with relative ease. Including this too.
Very helpful thank you mate
i've tried to beat this level for the past hour, and the wall jump section with the ant troopers was the part i kept dying on, i never thought about using power ups lol. thanks a ton for this method
update: just beat it as peach (and got the peach stamp, because i played the rest of the game as peach before now), and it was easy enough i feel like i could probably beat it with the other 4 as well
I never made it to that world yet
Flower is just way too hard for me :(
@@normalman910 dont give up hope, soon you will make it!
Collect all green stars and stamps, and get to the top of the flagpole on every level.
Thanks so much!!! I beat this with all 5 characters, green stars, stamp, and golden flagpole!!!! ! And I beat the Mystery House Marathon numerous times with all characters! !!!
not even at that point yet but thanks youtube!
I made it without power ups :3
Great job! I guess this video might be obsolete for you then TvT
What character did you use? I'm trying to get to Champion's Road and I wanna prepare for the future
@@Sunnysketchster I'm going to deduce from other comments that Peach might be the easiest choice out of the 5, Toad is probably the hardest, which is why I never beat the WiiU version before it broke.
@@PenguinsRecords Okay! Thanks for the info :D
@@Sunnysketchster I never beat it but the closest I got to beating it with was rosalina
I actually knew the Lucky Bell could do that, I never really thought of using it because I thought you weren’t able too.
thank you so much
Thank you so much for making this! I gave up on beating this level a while ago but now I am willing to try it again
This is similar to my strategy
