loved this interview.....when jay talks i'm hypnotized lol....no degree, never went to school yet shittin on all these so called professionals out there and building his empire even larger....THIS is my inspiration...
For 1. this is a Glempse into the Mind and thought Process of a successful Artist and Business man that has sustained success for more then 10 Years and continues to climb. You might ask why is that Valuable, well....Have you ever heard the saying to become Rich, you have to make Rich Friends?...Not because money will be thrown at you just by hanging around them...Its because subconciously you began to obsorb the mental Habits and thought process they possess that has made them successful
Dan and Phil highlights soon? Have you ever thought of uploading the full uncut show? A lot of the phantom would appreciate it, but it's just a suggestion
We are talking about Jay-Z here. He is very selective in his interviews all the time. Im a huge Jay-Z fan and follow all his interviews, and these are pretty good.
Zane Lowe is the man. His interviewing style is just as laid back as you can get and still be creditable while interviewing an iconic figure such as Jay-Z. Zane let me just coin it, Z'awe, since Jay-Z didn't on the show. No pun on Zawe Ashton although she is one of my fav actresses. Z'awe = Zane Lowe's AweNESS, the ability to pimp sophistication at its inner most intangible core. (ZAne loWE first to letters of 1st & Last name with emphasis on the Z for Zane.
For 2. if we read between the Lines, Jay-z is discribing how he is Changing the Traditional way record labels opporate By building relationships between different parts of the Label which pryer to now normaly dont ever Meet such as Publishers and Artist Repertoire (A&R). this is valuable information for someone Building a New Record label in hopes to be succesful in this new age of the business Dealing with the invention of the internet, and Decline of physical CD's
Jay is like the wise rational thinking older brother of Kanye. He's cool af. The last part Zane said about politics with the process being toxic for the people with good ambitions is SO FUCKING TRUE! I've also said that in an argument with a friend the other day, and that's EVERYWHERE in the world. That's what's fucked up about our society, especially politics.
I love these, but I get where you're coming from. Probable can't be helped though. Lowe was probably a bit starstruck, but also knowing that Jay-Z has the power to just walk out on any question he didn't like. But I think the sacrifice of super-inquisitive, challenging questions is worth it for the interview it has produced.
He has an amazing brain and is really smart but like many great artists, you can see him being overwhelmed by his thoughts too much and it's causing him to not express himself all that well, he stumbles a lot on his words because he thinks too much. He should work on that a little but besides that, these interviews are really good.
Jay-z truly is one of the most inspiring icons of our time born from poverty to greatness and he still strives to do more. Even when racist ppl accuse him of stupid stuff like being apart of the Illuminati. I dont see ppl saying that about Mark Zuckerberg the youngest billion of our time.
of course JAY -Z is intelligent. Always was a good student. There are even some rappers with college degrees. Not that a degree makes you intelligent. You have several educated fools out there that aren't artists running the world in the ground
Grab tha $ n Run; He mentioned the movie "Jerry Maguire" 1 of my fav movies!!! And now I really understand what they speaking on.....they gave me a vision
100 percent agree. People have to look deeper underneath the surface before making judgments. Too much generalization. Yesterday drake was on espn first take(he speaks proper or whatever "proper" means). Stephen a and skip saying "omgosh hes so intelligent; he brings hope to the hip hop culture etc etc. It like you cant make a generalization based of one rapper; makes no sense.
No Disrespect, your intitled to your opinion and I respect it. I also appreciate How you Disected the structure and science of this Interview as far as speaking on the Honest and lack of Timidness Amplifying the overall apeal of this video as portraying a sofisticated Conversation...the fact that you pointed that out shows your high level of observation to discover the formula . How ever, for me personaly My Logic indicates this is a Genius Conversation and I will explane why......
Everybody pursueing a Dream Spends so much time Knocking on Locked Doors Hoping Someone Opens the Door and Lets them In....Ive come to Relealize if you "Observe" interviews of Those you admire that have succeeded, They give you all the Keys to the Doors we percieve wont open. lets Open our Eyes, read between the Lines and Unlock our Minds, and Realize THere is no lock on the Door. Defeat Distractions!! Dont Feed into Fear...its a Distraction.
@BBCR1 @MaxItMagazine @NewYorkHip_Hop "I'm working on some great things!" As an #entrepreneur and future multi millionaire I learned a lot from this #Jayz interview.
For Reason 4. and Im gonna wrap this up cause i didnt entind to go this deep into my take on the interview. I feel the Intellegent aspect realy kicked in when Zane pointed out Jigg likes to pace his self and takes his time. Jay-z's Response is he is focused on Creating Greatness, in my opinion on a Michael jordan level. weather it takes a Day or 10 Years it Doesnt matter. He says Time is a Man Made thing. which is True, and that concept Derives From Albert Einstein and the laws of Relativity...
"Im focused on doing great things--doesn't matter how long it takes." Words of a smart, intelligent, successful man
I feel like I'm listening to two good friends have an intelligent conversation about life...and that's awesome.
Have so much respect for Jay Z. He's one of the few celebrities that are so holistic in approach. He is a epitome of a 21st Century Man.
Jay is a very knowledgeable man!

He just amazes me at how smart he is, like just listening to him makes me want to think ya know, he's so inspirational
Jay your work is brilliant
Definitely my favourite segment of the interview thus far. Love.
Zane Lowe seems to be one of the only people who can get guests to converse, rather than just answer questions- and it works beautifully
"we just made up those titles" lmao thats when you know they came up from a humble place.
I could watch these interviews forever, pure inspiration
"we took care at the engine first"

Hey Jay I'm a Cat who is ok on a surf board
To quote his own song,
"I don't know what you take me as,
Or understand the intelligence that Jay-Z has
I'm from rags to riches niggas I ain't dumb"

Loved how this dude was chilled with jay and not praising him like he is god.. like other journalists etc
im 21 nd i'm a jay z stan all the way. he's found a way to appeal to all demographics..
Jay Z is so freakin smart. That's what I admire about him then most other toxic rappers out there.
so excited for October 6th Dublin babyyyyy
10 years later looking at where Cole is now that some crazy foresight
he is very inspirational in his speaking
Great interview
Great interview.....
My favorite Zane interviews are Kanye & Jay Z
Zane Lowe best Interviewer out there.
Dan and Phil highlights soon? Have you ever thought of uploading the full uncut show? A lot of the phantom would appreciate it, but it's just a suggestion

He probably wouldn't have. He's answered questions about it before & rapped about it in his songs as well
Is it not hot in the uk maybe this was couple months back

Jay Z is the complete opposite to kanye, he's so humble!
probably never seen an kanye interview
50Shot Duwop then you don't understand kanye one bit
I love these, but I get where you're coming from. Probable can't be helped though. @4:05. . .didnt Jay-z have a song entitled 'Dear Summer' lol. Either way, i like how he's flipping the script on the business tip
A. Rashad Have you heard the song? The song has nothing to do with the “summer season”.
How many mics do you want?
BBC : Yes
‘Don’t be good my n**** be great’
thank you

"who can vote againgst health care? like noo! i dont want you to get better" lol the way jay z dropped that was funny as heckk!
Zane Lowe, can you interview everyone from now on?
14.40-14.45jay went beast mode Looool
I know alot of people like to call Kanye a musical genius, but Jay Z is just so past that title is scary. He is an extremely intelligent man
He is so smart. U can clearly see why he's ahead of all the ignorant rappers out there
Never would have expected such intelligence from Jay Z. Another level! love these interviews
of course JAY -Z is intelligent. Always was a good student. There are even some rappers with college degrees. Not that a degree makes you intelligent. You have several educated fools out there that aren't artists running the world in the ground
wow that is a great explanation
Best fucking rap interview in history...
I thought Zane was gonna go in with some Illuminati ?'s when he made the "political circles" comment... Jay may have walked out. lol Good interview
Well said!!!
