I remember them being in Galveston, TX a few years ago for their annual Hurricane Awareness Tour and let me tell you what to get to walk up the back ramp and personally see the Weather Officer's station, the dropsonde tube, plus all the advanced equipment needed to penetrate tropical systems to keep Americans safe and give the NWS the most accurate forecasts possible, plus to have the opportunity to meet the amazing Airmen that help to accomplish these often very challenging missions, and to meet the then Director of the National Hurricane Center, Dr. Rick Knabb it truly was an amazing experience! Having studied weather for 20 yrs it never hurts to learn more, definitely looking forward to going through a WC-130J again in the future!
Dear! Hurricane Hunters. This is going to sound funny, but i would still like to say that Irene is pretty coorperative and obedient right after you had treated her accordingly.
Great jobs guys I admire your ability to be so fearless. Makes me scared for you sometimes....By the ways guys you all have good looks and are very smart pilots.... thanks for the information when I want the weather for Hurricanes I track your progress.
this is sort of deceptive. they are flying into the storm but they are entering from the back which is still dangerous but they are not flying against the wind and power. also, is the intensity of the hurricane the same as on land as 2 miles up
It was on Netflix like 6 years ago but I haven’t seen it since, and I also haven’t seen any higher quality copies on the web anywhere. I can’t find a DVD release either.
The "plate" is a combiner glass that displays an image of flight instruments from a projector above the pilots head. It allows a pilot to look outside the window and simultaneously see pitch/roll attitude, airspeed, altitude, heading and navigation data. The combined system is referred to as HUD, or Heads Up Display.
Well 4 turbo propelled engines, light aircraft, reduced wing surface, powerful radar on nose And underneath airplane. Basically this airplane is. A. Chair with too. Much horse power :D
Today is September 1st 2019 and I suggest that the hurricane hunters take a powerful magnet to the center of a hurricane and spin it in the reverse of the storm in a horizontal plane for experimental interest .!
@Private Duck Hello 4 years later lol! The hurricane hunters fly through every tropical cyclone or disturbance that threatens any land mass in America.
I hate the false shaking of the camera and the scripted radio lines. Next time just bring a documentary crew on a LIVE flight into a hurricane and record that instead.
Been hunting for years. It's not anywhere. Seriously. Pirate sites? nada. Netflix in Pakistan, South Africa, Australia, USA, or Canada? nope. Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, sling? nothing. eBay? zilch. It's like the series just vanished.

So much respect for these people ✊
May God be with them in the future all glory to god
I like how they have the number of flights they've made marked on their arm.
I want to be a hurricane hunter when I grow up. IT LOOKS SO COOL
It seems really fun! I got to fly with them last week, and they are good pilots!
Did u ever become a pilot?
@@loganroodt818 No, but I’m working towards becoming an aerospace engineer
@@tornadospin9 damn! Congrats! That's awesome!!
This was a Category 240p storm?
1080p wasn't invented until 2021
*salutes to the Hurricane Hunters* These hurricane hunters deserve a medal of some kind...my gosh...they've gone into COMBAT against nature's worst!!!
What a crazy job.. i bet the most worst turbulance comercial airline was nothing to this.. 😂
The turbulence in commercial plane is like a joke to em
YOULL ARE THE REAL HEROS . STAY BLESSED AND BE SAFE DEAR ONES
Dear! Hurricane Hunters. This is going to sound funny, but i would still like to say that Irene is pretty coorperative and obedient right after you had treated her accordingly.
Yes, these are WC-130J aircraft, modified with weather equipment and extra fuel capacity, However, there is no structural reinforcements at all.
The reason to no structural reinforcements due to when your going down, those reinforcements won’t help
I saw this in my Middle School Science class during a unit on Natural Catastrophic Events. We only saw this episode though.
6:09 that first date IRL
Love it

wtf I had no idea they would fly into it I thought theyd fly above it or something. How does the plane not get flung out of the sky?
7:53, "How is this possible"? Its a Lockheed product, that's how.
Looks like Colonel Oliver North
I want a storm like that here in Virginia again
I have been looking for more 20+ minute episodes of Hurricane Hunters. Can't seem to find more than 4???
this is sort of deceptive. they are flying into the storm but they are entering from the back which is still dangerous but they are not flying against the wind and power. also, is the intensity of the hurricane the same as on land as 2 miles up
Cool
Next one is jupiters red spot! ;D
🤣
THE 53RD WRS WAS STATIONED IN P.R . 53RD ..
Where can you find this series in better quality (no offense), even if you have to pay !

More blades less vibration
Is that piece of plate the pilots are looking through armored to protect their vision in case the windscreen is penetrated by a solid object?

Obviously, the pilot can't leave his controls....how do they all go to the bathroom on a 12hr flight?

Are these modified C-130s?
Yes they are
When you fail your meteorology exam......
......but you somehow still a pilot 😂

leonard brodt -With technology The way it is progressing, I think hurricane Hunter planes will be a thing of the past in another 20 or 30 years
Director: Whatever you do make sure to cut to a new video every 4 milliseconds…people love that.
People: God this is so F’ing annoying!!!😡🤬😡🤬😡😡🤬🤬🤬😡

Let’s blur out their rank and then list them by rank.
Lol
why is there paper coming out of his keyboard?
scott p it's not a keyboard actually it's a weather advisory keyboard
@@koala7258 I thought it was a toilet paper dispenser.
Are they flying through hurricane matthew
I do not know. It would be reasonable to assume that they are, but without their camera crews
Private Duck There are flying through Irene
@Private Duck Hello 4 years later lol! The hurricane hunters fly through every tropical cyclone or disturbance that threatens any land mass in America.

Better resolution would be nice....seriously? 240p? What is it, 2001?
David Higgins the year is 2017. The potatoes have waged war on humans.
Alright, then. Find me a better version and I'll upload it.

Help
I wonder if a drone could fly through a hurricane?
no. you need signal to operate a drone and electrical storms tend to affect signals
THATS THE FLIGHTLINE AT KEESLER AFB BILOXI MS.......
I was stationed at Kessler for my technical training.
Nbb
IT CALLED A PENATRATION .... THE PLANES IS SHAKING ALL HELL BUT THE C-130 E/H WAS STRONG.. ONCE INSIDE ITS CALM ..
Eh. Bullshit. Hurricanes are predictable and where and how you enter them is controlled. Also you are in a superb strong aircraft; at altitude.
Video quality is crap. Thumbs down
