Brilliant vid fella's. I've been looking at this kit myself over the last few days and now you've convinced me to get one. Thanks for all the tips as well. Looking forward to the rest of the build and maiden.
+RC Model Geeks I've just ordered a kit from HK UK warehouse. I've been looking for a cheap but large-scale UAV platform for a while and this might just be the ticket. I'm leaning towards a 4-stroke CDI petrol engine rather than going electric. Flight times should be awesome with the amount of space available for tanks in that fuselage... or I might even integrate expansion tanks into the wings. Lots of possibilities with a wooden built-up aircraft like this, quite excited to see what it can do! I'll let you know if my kit has strip wood missing, however I have a large stock of balsa, spruce, obechi etc from a 1:8th scale Mosquito I'm building, so it won't be a problem if it does.
+RC Model Geeks Thanks a lot for this build vlog! I want to know the weight wirhout electronics. I found a thread on rcgroups. www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2648518#post34617258
Bending balsa? Have you tryed it with ducktape? Place ducktape over the balsa, complete, before bending on the outside, and when you bend it, it prevent braking the wood.
hello its mick from downunder great stuff guys i purchased the bloody thiing but first contacted them via live chat was assured its all there guess what the same bits missing its july 2017 we are now into week 2 of trying to get a response its going to cost 50 aus dollars to get them and i might add all hobby king kits laser cut is bad but they are cheap once again great work
I just mounted the fuselage, waiting to cover. But in the drawing comes a reference in the fuselage to B18. But B18 is the first rib of the wing. But following the assembly instructions, in the fuselage, in the last photograph before covering the fuselage, it refers to the cover and two small pieces appear as B18. Those two small pieces are really to give greater strength to the lid, and has nothing to do with the B18 ribs? Regards and apologies.
Ordered one past week. Dancing Wings stopped making it but i found one. Wondering if they have changed manual after 3 years .Lol. (Dancing Wings knowing, i don't think so). Will let you know how it works. The Piper Cub from them had their mistakes also not changed after 2 year in production. Dancing Wings Hobby is not really customer/user friendly .
Nope. No change. They really don't give a shit about mistakes . Lol. Same shit with F2 and F12 is still the same. That after 3,5 year. No. Dancing Wings Hobby isn't paying attention. This is my last plane from them. I maybe nuts, but not crazy.
This has been a great help for my build as i also have all he same issues. I'm lucky to have a stock of spruce as this has been needed for a number of hobbyking planes. I noticed there are slots left in the top hatch, am i meant to add more strengtheners or is this a design flaw?
Great videos, you've convinced me to get off the fence and buy one! I was just wondering , how are you planning to get the servo cables down to the tail? are you planning on running them through the wing and into the boom or just cable tie them on ?

+Pete Stanford Thanks Pete! hopefully in the next video we can fill you in on the motor, esc and servos we are going to use. Regards Rob

Information about the dry weight would be nice!
+Silberner Surfer As soon as we get it to the stage where we can weigh it we will. But i imagine its going to be between 2.5kg to 3kg.

+FGDude PArt 2 coming soon. Cant wait to fly it myself! Regards Rob
+RC Model Geeks Great, I wont miss it.

Cheers.
+FGDude Will need a plane clear out soon!
+RC Model Geeks Its solution Nr 2, but painful to say goodbye to all the beauties.
Always sell your planes to your friends! Then you still get to fly them :o)

Must be B19. And those parts are stupid placed. Upper drawing they are shown glued in A5 , but that is a big mistake. They must glued in A11 .

+Vass Ya gonna have a bloody hangover!
Great vid, cant wait to see how you fit that in the little cars you use over there! :-D not exactly a build for a yaris size car? thanks for sharing,
+chris gange Hahahaha luckly the Yaris isnt my car ;o)

there should be some stringers that run the length of the hatch to give the sheeting a bit more strength.
RC Model Geeks thanks, it looks like they are missing so i will use some of my stock wood

+Matthew Goundry servo cables i have run through the wing and down the inside of the boom.
Some segments in the video are stamped not adjacent to each other
