Outstanding tips, i was curious to see what motor you'll choose because the hobbyking one in 2820 900 or 1100 kv seems to be not good. ecalc predictions are very bad but my estimation of the wing surface about 54 dm might not be very accurate. Hang on for the next videos, i stay tuned !!! Thanks for sharing
+La tête dans les nuages -[Maxxhimum]- Thanks ;o) Big prop low KV is the way to go with this plane. I always select my motor setup from experience ;o) Hapy to see you are enjoying the series. Wing build starts today.
+RC Model Geeks What's the maximum diameter prop we can run, based on the distance between the two booms? Are you in a position to measure this yet, please?
+James Mills (leeph) limiting factor will be ground clearance not boom clearance! if we get a chance i will do something about it in the next video ;o)
+James Mills (leeph) sorry posted that before watching the vid - I see you reckoned it was about 24", so actually the more critical measurement's going to be the centreline of the motor down to the ground with the supplied undercarriage, to give an absolute maximum prop radius (if doubling as a lawn mower..!). I may replace the wheels with slightly bigger pneumatic ones (dislike those horrible foam ones supplied) and may incorporate some dampening oleos somehow which may give a touch more clearance. Your electric setup (motor & battery, 10000mah) alone is going to weigh a kilo at least, are you sure the airframe dry weight is going to be only 2kg?
+James Mills (leeph) OK just done a few quick measurements. the Max size prop i would run would be 22" you could possibly go to 23" but thats getting very close to the booms. and the ground ;o)
Estoy montando el mío y todavía tengo que comprar un motor y una hélice. Ya he visto que el motor que usa es un 42-38 750kv. ¿Qué hélice usas? Supongo que la hélice es CW? Espero tus aclaraciones. Gracias. Not answer In the rcgroup thread I have seen that it is a 14x7 propeller. Thanks anyway.
Hello ! I intend to buy one, but I ask myself about the config : I will probably power my plane with two 4S 5200mAh Lipo What motor would you recommend to me ? why have you chosen NTM 42-38 while HK recommends 2820 ? And what props will you use ? Thank you ! :)
+Jérémie .GUILLERMIN Hi ! I want to swing a big diameter prop so thats the main reason for choosing that motor. large prop low kv= more efficiency. Oh and the fact that the motor was cheap ;o) I will be running a 14x6 prop
+RC Model Geeks Ok, thank you ! Indeed i have seen that its price is very attractive ! ;) It is hard to find informations about this model, have you an idea about its payload capacity ?
Indeed there is little information around for it! we feel like pioneers lol! No idea yet what payloads it will take. But i intend to fly with 10000 4s.
great vid guys, cant wait to for maiden. Are guys planning for a flight controller? What servo setup are you guys planning to use? Keep up the good work.
Nice video as always with some fun, love it. Question from me, are you gone fpv this thing and are you gone put in some autopilot of some sort for auto flights? Cheers.
Great vid, thanks for sharing, your gonna need a bigger shed when this one is built =) if you open the tailgate of your car and the back windows down (wings through the windows) she'll transport whole no worries! *-D
My kit arrived today - it does seem to include the wood that was missing from your kit. Like you said, you must have been unlucky! Not that I will necessarily use it, I may substitute in some better quality stuff from my own stock. I noticed on the side of the box there is a QR code, which leads to: www.dwhobby.com/ Appears that is where the kit originates from. Though this particular kit is not listed on their website, the Tiger Moth that HK also sell is on there, and the graphics are very similar, clearly from the same design team.
You can get one side cutting razors which have a protection on the other side to put pressure.
Brilliant , really enjoying this biuld. Good work guys , especially the cameraman. ....
+Scott Thompson Thanks Scott! He is almost as good as the tripod ;o)

+Kiowa Mech It might end up with an APM in it. Done a fair bit apm stuff in the past with great success.
Love it! Guess Im gonna need a bigger apartment...again haha :D
+46spikey It is a big beast ;o)

+FGDude I expect it will end up with an apm in it ;o)
+RC Model Geeks I like it, great fan of the apm autopilot, don't wanna miss it ;o)
Me too had some great flights using it. look carefully on our videos and you might find some apm flights ;o)...
+RC Model Geeks will sure do.

+chris gange she'll be alright! Gaffa tape is a wonderful thing.
Or you grab a single edge razor blade and don't worry about cutting your fingers off. Alternatively you can tape up one edge with masking tape.

+James Mills (leeph) Great thanks for the info.
How hard is this to build with someone with no experience?
Top work gents (Mark2) :-)
+Vass Thanks for the wood matey ;o)
+RC Model Geeks no problem. has the rest of the wood arrived? are you building today?
we raided bixler phils shed! Yep building again today hopefully.
