Agreed. && I think a lot of people really overplayed issues that should not have been surprising to have in the very first model of this car… Going on for 20 minutes about how they couldn’t figure out how to open the doors with their own key fobs ultimately to find out this was an easy fix with taking it in for an update or in some cases even as simple as pressing the unlock button on your key fob… I can’t see much about the phone car key thing, and I would hope in the 2022 models some of these glitches and issues were dealt with, but I can’t say it would really change my mind overall on owning the vehicle if there were any issues with the phone being used as a key… I’ve never had a car that can do that anyway so it’s not like it’s a step down to have to use a key fob. Going on for 25min about this & issues w/ connecting to Bluetooth (which again, can be fixed w/ an update or by resetting it with the play/down buttons on wheel being held for 10 seconds), & proceeding to state these are reasons to sell the car & reasons buyers hated it- I just find a little over the top & fussy, && again, 25min about all this… Just overkill & unnecessary.. Almost like your looking for reasons to not like the vehicle.. I can say MANY if these higher end techy cars have similar tech issues, EVERY rover my mom has had has had several reoccurring issues with the tech inside… In fact, itheyve had several issues over all even when brand new & can be extremely expensive to fix. We’ve even had a few issues w/ our Tesla S model at one point the key & phone key not working at all. So these are not problems exclusive to the mach e. I think one should be realistic in expectations with ANY vehicle that is the first model and/or first of its kind as being the first, there will ALWAYS be kinks n bugs to learn from & work out.

I think this is silly to argue about, & on its own? Not necessarily a reason in itself to ‘get rid of it as fast as you can.’ You should see the kinds of issues new owners have with a lot of the pricier popular cars out there like Range Rovers… lol. The way ppl pick this car apart, idk how Tesla made it through its early days of bugs & issues or how cars like Rovers stayed so popular if held to the same standards lol. && I guess I’ll have to rewatch but didn’t he say it was the charge port DOOR/cover that got dented? Or did he say the actual charge port was dented?? Cuz that makes a difference lol. If the port gets dented & you can’t put the charger in, that’s an issue but if it’s just the cover? That’s not what I could consider some make or break issue & if your used to a regular gas car in this price range that’s a few years older, your probably used to having to remember to close it manually.. I can tell you for ppl like me who have already had to remember to close the gas cap if I don’t want possible damage, for the whole of my life with every car I’ve ever owned, remembering to close my gas cap isn’t like some step backwards…

One thing about the traditional dealer model is that it leads to high variability in the experience one might have from dealer to dealer. I've bought 2 Fords (one ICE, one MME) from 2 different dealers but get them both serviced at a third. You just have to shop around for a dealer that does training and service well and give it your business.

For a Mustang, that is truly the worst looking vehicle I have ever seen. And I've owned multiple Mustangs in every single year bracket (except maybe late 70s).
I intentionally did not go into detail about the other complete and obvious failure of this vehicle - and that's the obvious idiotic push to "force" electric cars onto the public. In 25-40 years, it MIGHT work, but the environmental religious zealots pushing this feel-good trash onto people never consider the infrastructure necessary to be in place for this type of vehicle to be viable. That missing yet necessary infrastructure makes widespread use (at the very least) decades away from being viable (except in regional "bubbles" due to regional needs and conditions).
95% of the nation/world does not need or want electric cars, and the proof is obvious with last year's electric car sales being less than 2% of total vehicle sales. This is why most within the supply chain are certain it will be a catastrophic loss for any part of the chain that dares dabble in pretending the opposite is true and people actually want electric cars. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I thought they were going the right direction in the 80's but went the totally wrong direction. The small light weight 5.0's were a blast to drive as were the first gen with a couple upgrades. The 90's to 2020 were horrible to drive and were dangerous if really adding some power, couldn't keep them straight. Either way, this thing looks androids like a nice soccer moms ride.

This is a reason it may be better to wait for the second or third models to come to be. I’ve heard many ppl talk about buying after it’s had a few thousand miles put on it (especially with some of these expensive, fast, & techy cars), as ppl say then you avoid having to deal with those early problems & kinks that have usually been addressed by then. Anyhow, I’m looking to potentially buy the ‘22 mach e && def appreciate the quick overview /review on the car & am glad to hear the recall is your only reason for selling as some reviews have made me question the purchase but overall, I feel many have been too hard on this vehicle & feel for the price, it’s a good choice for EVS. Ford may not have the EV experience Tesla has but the ‘good’ spacious Tesla models are also more expensive by quite a big difference w/ the model X being like 30k more than a mach e & the y, just feeling a lot smaller inside with a smaller screen which I don’t like… I’ve only driven the S & the X, not yet tried the 3 or the Y, but I would assume the Y drives just as nicely as the S or the X (though the performance X is just… I mean jaw dropping awesome if you can afford a 100k car). So I would say the Teslas may be a bit better, but the models I’d say are better also cost more. Either imo would be a great choice so thanks again for

All EVs are basically time bombs, so paying more than $30k for any EV regardless of brand is a waste of money because at some point the battery will have premature wear or endurance decreases. All cars in the salt belt will die faster as the salt used on the roads will make it into the battery compartment and corrode the batteries requiring an expensive job to repair dead cells or rust. Go look up the cost it ranges from $5-7k rather than $25k+ for a new battery.

Maybe when comparing modelY mention also how much worse electrify America charging experience is compared to Tesla supercharger and how terrible the machE in car infotainment and navigation software quality issues is causing you to use your phone with CarPlay to navigate instead despite the connectivity issues. I personally can only compare my 2018 Model3 to the MachE I test drove and while it is a fine car especially compared to fords ICE sedans, I could not come to the same conclusion of the only reason for selling being the charge door design and the recall for the glass affixment. The autopilot, supercharger, smoother cornering, less lag acceleration and sportier steering of the Model3 are at least in my world a huge advantage.

Don't have any problems with charging. You usually stop to charge every 100-150 miles, because that's the typical distance between chargers on interstate. Taking into account that charging in ALL cars is faster when the battery COC is lower, overall you save time charging more often, not even mentioning the effect on the longevity of the battery. Unless the battery capacity increased to 800 miles, which would allow a whole day of driving w/o charging, all those charging quirks make no real life difference.

I suspect OTA updates in Detroit-brand autos are limited so that they can appease their dealer network. Otherwise the rate of dealership closings would increase even faster as EV's become the norm. At least in the shop they have a small chance of also selling tires and wiper blades.

I was considering the Mach E but decided to go with Tesla for 2 reasons: 1-the dealership added "fees" resulted in a total of $5,000 over the price quoted by Fords website, 2-I heard about the Mach E charging 80% issue. I decided on Tesla and recently received my Tesla model 3 one week before Christmas. My thought is that auto makers are so new in making EV's that they may have issues that Tesla does not have or already has resoled. Tesla has already done the R&D and has years of experience... plus my model 3 is far more than just "miles per charge", it does things (via the built-in calibration equipment), that no other vehicle can currently do!
