Is it weird that i NEVER have encountered a red lizard in vanilla? I play vanilla on the switch and i have been collecting pearls for a while, im constantly using new routes but ive never ever encountered one of those lizards, i only encountered one of those when i was playing modded..?

They appear more often when you are hunter
@@RykerAccardi on normal mode (the survivor character) they don't spawn normally, you have to kill other lizards and the next cycle another lizard will replace it, possibly a red.
They only spawn naturally for the hunter character.

1:45 this music is etched into my brain. Its the same music I heard playing the game 6 (soon to be 7!) years ago, and its the same music I hear booting up the game today. I will always remember the simplicity and slightly more loneliness / sombreness of Rain World pre Downpour, and the community before its recent massive explosion. Its already pretty nostalgic, considering I was 12 when I first played this game, and im now studying Games Design at uni!
This game will genuinely be a part of who I am as a person for the rest of my life chances are. Itll always be one of those experiences ill be able to remember years from now.
My favorite part of rain world is when the slugcat says his famous line "its rain time!" And then rains all over the place

Although incredibly well made, I must say that the thing, which shines the most about this soundtrack is how it fits in the game. The right music plays in the right time. Some of the pieces I find strange, but in a beautifull way. They give some mixed feeling of loneliness, undiscovered burden and uneasyness, but also hope. Example is "Random Gods", which I don't necessary adore, but find it perfecly adjusted for where it plays: inside a superstructure, a giant computer, who has far more elevated purpose than I do.

@@davidbronstein2040 they did release a patch where they fixed some of the lag. I haven't played the game in a while so it could be that they patched it completely

@@CutMeSomeSlackTheVII Chimney canopy is a trial but memory crypts was just a gauntlet. Especially since just some unlucky cycle times meant having to botch the run through it at times.

When I finished this game I started seeing stuff in the bigger picture asking questions about reality itself can anyone relate?
yeah same, years ago when i first played, its wierd because this isnt really a lore heavy game theres few text scattered arround, its strange, in other games i might be impressed by a great story, but in rainworld i cant tell why it moved me so much, the world was so beautifull it made me curious, the smallest hint of lore made me super excited, and it overall just made me want answers even tho the game didnt seem to ask any question, its kinda like having someone ultra charismatic say anything, you cant really tell if theres a message hidden in what they said but they said it in such a nice voice and tone that youre instantly compelled to know more, like the game has triggered some primal insctinct of ''i dont know what this is but its good''
The violence of the rain a usually peaceful event in the real world, gives rain world a strange feeling of comfort in the rain yet, you still fear it as it is what drives the ecosystem forwards in the endless cycles, through the elimination of all those to slow to escape it.
This is very visually pleasing
it still surprised me that Adult Swim is the leading compensators of the development of rainworld.

Evan Dinosaur the rain is a result of the integrators specifically 5 pebbles using tons of water for an experiment he was trying to do and the water vapor that he made causes the rain. If you look up “the depths of rain world lore” this guy goes into great detail about all of this

@@ollybro2294 In my opinion, ambiguity is what makes the story so great. Hence, why details like other iterators are left up to interpretation. However, ||Spoilers|| we do know about the existence of several iterators like Seven Red Suns, No Significant Harassment, and of course, Silver of Straw, who might have successfully ascended or died. That's also left to interpretation
@@ollybro2294 I also personally think that he found an answer, but he realized the power of this knowledge was too much to fall into the hands of the other iterators. Just imagine what they could do with that power. They could ascend entire regions if they wanted to, and I don't think entire species and ecosystems are willing or ready to get ripped apart from this world just to escape a cycle that they've probably come to accept. Plus, I wouldn't blame SoS for just wanting to dip after finding an answer. He's been working on the problem for eons and was probably just as desperate to leave as 5p or other iterators are. Just imagine doing homework for thousands of years and not being able to ever finish it!
Though I still haven't ruled out the fact that he may have just found a way to suicide. After all, it would have provided him a temporary exit (cuz the cycle would probably bring him back) while still providing hope to all the other iterators, who are just as tired as he is, of there being an end in sight to their work.
Plus, if the other iterators do find an answer to the great problem, then SoS would probably still get to ascend by the time he comes back.

When I played through this game. I never went to the alternate route into Pebbles. Now I know. I climbed in from the left side where the hovering or floating bits are. I never did the right side

man, slugcat didnt want to break the cycle, he/she just wanted to find he/she's family, and it terrifies me just to think somewhere, slugcats family is grieving every day slugcat is gone.
Well, sorry to break it to you but when you play as slugcat he's/she's an adult...which means his/hers family is most likely gone...
