  • This is a fun little video of me learning about how many square feet one can of “As Seen on TV” Flex Seal covers..... no, but seriously, if you want to use some JB Weld and Flex Seal to repair and renew your old kayak, I highly recommend watching this video. Here are links to everything I used:

when you put jb weld, just wear plastic gloves and push it in the holes to fill it up so its not noticeable and you dont need sanding. Going from the inside and pushing the jb weld out works best. Tight lines

Looks very nice, however I feel it will scrape and scratch off fairly easy. Gorilla tape offers SOME protection too but doesn't last long. And keel patches are way overpriced. So the best protection I've seen is heat gun and cut and fitted #2 plastics such as buckets and milk jugs. PLEASE post a review of the longevity from this labor of love, very curious!

It’s been a few months and it has held up for the most part. Thank you for the comment and compliments!!!

Will you share a photo of what it looks like now? Trying to figure out if I want to do this or something else.

You should do a follow up to show how it wears after a season of use. Very ingenious good idea

I need to for sure. It held up for the rest of that season and did a great job for the amount of $$$ spent. I would never do it to a brand new kayak

@@ReelandRoll please explain why, would it not be better to add protection. I just bought a new kayak, and it is so soft it was damaged from transporting home in the back of my truck.

Because I did it the right way. I sanded for hours and put on multiple coats. Video took 3 days to shoot. I appreciate the support

Lmao - it’s supposed to be a little cringe worthy. I actually wish I would have split the video up. Everyone focused on the flex-seal portion and overlooked the repairs in the beginning.
