  • Today my crew and I are tasked on removing over a hundred tree stumps. If you have been keeping up with the channel you might have seen the video where we removed hundreds of dead ash trees from this property. Well today we're back removing every single stump from each tree we removed. It was a super long day but we got it done! We also tried out a new attachment for our bobcat. I have only used a stump grinding attachment for a bobcat a couple of times. So it was definitely a learning proccess but by the end of the day I felt real confident about it! I want to thank anyone who took the time out of their day to watch the video! Any questions comments tips leave them down below!

    Your attachment did a good job, particularly when you got into the rhythm of it. Good job!

    I have the same grinder and have learned a few things about it.
    It's only designed to be dragged through the stump not pushed through. There are pins you can take out so it can kinda float through the stump. It's not supposed to be solid mounted while you are pulling it through the stump.
    You figured out the starting on the right side of the stump.. nice work..
    When those finger style teeth get trashed and bent over ect you can replace them with Rayco style teeth. They are a huge improvement!!

      Hopefully you’ll see this comment. Just bought a used Stumper 240 and all the teeth need replacing. Which Rayco teeth are you talking about?

    I’ve been in the stump grinding and tree business for 30 years, i use nothing but Vermeer 70 hp and above machinery those little bitty stumps would not take about 10 seconds apiece with a real grinder. I’ve had those skid steer attachment people come out and try to tell me they are better than what I use and I always tell them bring it on out for a demo I’ll have two stumps set up and we’ll see. The little young guyBobcat saw me do mine first and he said there’s no reason even unloading mine 😀 But like you said in about three minutes into the video these are not near as good as a tree stump grinder. They will just do in a bind.

    Why do you keep picking your boom up when you’re moving. Start out at one level go back-and-forth drop it down a little go back-and-forth drop it down a little more and go back-and-forth you’ll be done in a minute.

      Appreciate the tips! The ground wasnt really flat so it was a bit difficult for me to keep it leveled in one place. But now I know for next time! Thanks for the feedback brother!

    You should try driving it on and backing it off. I think that would be easier as well as faster...give it a try.

    Good job... It seems to be a nice back up grinder but you have to be care full of chip discharge... Starting at 20:45, it appears that the chips are starting to damage the shed wood panel or just stripping the paint off... Hope everything turned out OK... Thanks for the video

    • @Tree_Boss

      Appreciate the tip! Ill keep it in mind for next time. Everything turned out okay but your 100% rite got to be careful where you shoot the chips. Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment! Thanks

    You don’t have to hold down on it all time . Make sure your flo button is on above your head on right side looks like a circle push it . Then hold the Button on your joystick for three seconds and it will stay on

      @Tree_Boss  2 роки тому +2

      Appreciate the feedback brother! I actually mentioned it in the video but I figured out how to keep the aux running with out holding it down. I knew there must have been a way since it wasnt really practical to hold the button down. But yeah after a couple I was able to find the button. Thanks again for the tip man wish I wouldve had some tips starting the day off haha. Thanks for watching!

    8:23 i don't own one, but its hydrlics that drive the motor, i belive speed is a key to keep the blade moving
    Faster means more wood removed
    Now lower how deep your cut is in a pass. I cant see how running full pressure would be a problem.
    Maybe next time you buy a tool read the operating instruction.

  • @bobbg9041
    @bobbg9041 5 місяців тому

    20:43 you can clearly see the grinder hit the back of the shed putting marks on it from the teeth.
    I would have passed on that stump
    Because of the location, the bees and the rocks. That should have been a no, cant do it.

    check the skid steer for loose bolts after , stump grinders love to rattle apart whatever loader, tractor or truck they are attached too.

    It works fine.
    It seems like that attachment needs its own *lateral control* (in and out) or *hinged radius movement/cylinder* so you're *not* having to roll/move the *whole machine* back and forth.
    It seems *that* would give it much more *fine control* without bogging down ;-)

    That Hydraulic motor will not last long.

    • @bluethunder1951
      @bluethunder1951 6 місяців тому +1

      It doesn’t have a case drain, so it most likely a low flow motor, as long as the gpm is matched to the motor it should last at least a few hundred hours.
