Glad I found this. I’ve got a few of the classic Turbomatics. Tried others but it’s only model where my butt doesn’t complain. Some of they are getting near the end of their service life. TBH 30+ years ain’t bad. The newer Turbomatic and the ‘replacement’ Flite models seem a bit too wide at the back causing a bit of discomfort on long climbs when I slide back for better leverage. I’ve tried to break them in over my indoor training season, still not comfortable.
@@nshon7 to be honest, I am not sure. I’ve been using the seats I have done and not had an issue with this. But I suppose it is down to the way a specific leather is dyed?
Hello. I use the heat transfer vinyl. I normally use a sheet of Teflon to go between heat source and the vinyl heat film. This is to stop burning the heat vinyl transfer film, whilst fitting it.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Very helpful.
@@Bartyron thanks for the kind comments. I am glad it has helped.
I appreciate you taking the time to watch it.
Great video,
Very helpful to us crazies out there knocking the rust off old treasures.
Nice work ..
Thank you for the kind comment, Its appreciated. Definitely worth saving the older classic items and what we are here to do😁

I know what you mean, some seats are just difficult to get on with.
Exelente trabalho parabéns amigo
Thank you, it’s appreciated.
Interesting video, good job on the saddle. Be useful to know where you buy your leather from and the decals.
Thank you. I think this leather was from a seller on Ebay. The heat press decals I made myself. Give me a shout if you need some 👍
Awesome again. Have you tried doing it by cutting leather the same shape as the top that’s come off? Is that a bad idea as you have no leverage?
Thank you. You could do it that way, But I like to have the extra when fitting it. Then trimming is easy enough.
Won’t dyed leather colours wear onto the shorts? I mean most of mine are black but some are lighter colours.

Hi there Retfurb! Are you using the Teflon Sheet Heat Transfer Film? I tried searching locally for such heat transfer films?

@@retfurb Thank you! Will search the heat transfer vinyl for such projects on the saddle. 😃
@@keanermitano477 if you need anything making up, I made all these myself.
Happy to help you out, if you need something made. 👍🏻
This is great. Is there a way I can reach you and purchase a set of those orange iron on decals?
@@raab6044 thank you, I appreciate the kind comment.
Yes, email me at contact@retfurb.co.uk
what adhesive did you use?
Hello, I used spray adhesive. This particular one is from screwfix (UK) and is their own 'no nonsense' brand.
