This was written by Brian May during the time of his marital breakup and the start of his relationship with Anita Dobson ( his second wife . He released this as a song too and you should check it out - its very heart wrenching too

Great reaction. Would like to see you both reacting to Somebody to love - live at Montreal or Innuendo - the official video. This is one of my favourite Queen songs. I know that you love Freddie, but I think it would be interesting if you reacted to songs where Brian/Rog sings lead. Not to compare because Freddie is the best but more so you know^^ No one but you (Only the good die young) is a tribute to Freddie. It was the last song Queen released and also the last thing John did before retiring. I always hesitate a little before recommending it because you should know and heard about a bit about Queen and Freddie before, but you saw the movie and as far as I understand u listened to some songs that u not reacted on youtube so you’re ”ready”!
Also there is a video that’s called something like: These are the days of our lives duet Roger and Freddie. It was the last music video Freddie did before passing so it’s emotional and Rog sings this songs as his tribute on their concerts nowadays (Brian does Love of my life pretty often)

Spread Your Wings and In My Defense. You should listen to those two. Also Freddie Mercury is a legend. There was nobody better out there, and there still isn’t. Also the band Queen. Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon. They were the best. And all three of them wrote songs. If I’m not mistaken Brian wrote To Much Love Will Kill You long before Freddie got sick.
Omg I nearly cry everytime I hear this, the lyricks and Freddie was death when the LP was given out. It was Bryan who wrothe the song about his realasionsceep with his seckend wife Anita Dobsen who his still married to….oh I wich Freddie was here, the beautiest man ever, I love his voice and the rest of him ❤️ so cool your mother was with you, hope I see her again. It IS the official video since Freddie had zlready passed when they released it. No ond really knows who Love Of My Life was about, btw. I heard your mom mention it. He never said who it was about. I think it WAS written for Mary, but from her point of view when they broke up.
Sanna Olsson Wrong. I saw an interview where Freddie states that he wrote it for Mary. He said that he preferred male lovers, but could never love any of them the way that he loved Mary. In his eyes, they were married for life.
@@heyjude1920 I never said it wasn't for her. I said he has never said it. And he hasn't. Give me a real quote by him whete he said it. And I know about that quote you mentioned but he never said anywhere that he wrote that song for her. It's just speculation. Not even Phoebe Freestone, his personal assistant and close friend for 12 years, knows, but he believes it was written from Mary's point of view otherwise it doesn't make sense at all. Listen to the lyrics, it's a song about someone leaving you, not a happy love song. Freddie and Mary had a beautiful friendship and they were indeed very close.

Beautiful song!! I heard it on the radio probably 20 years or so ago and I know that Brian Wrote it, but he was going through marital struggles of his own. Sadly, he was married with kids and touring was hard on his marriage. His marriage was falling apart in 1986 that was about the time he met Anita Dobson &. Instantly fell head over heels in love with her and her vibrant personality. He said that he was still married and they had to be hush-hush because he and his wife were trying to get through it but they were not likely to be successful. Brian and Chrissy ended up breaking up, & after that was when Brian and Anita came out as working together because Brian had produced some of her music. It wasn’t but about another year before they announced anything about their relationship. This song also fits perfectly with Freddie because he was raised for eight or nine years in boarding school with boys and away from his family. His parents were Zoroastrians and he was raised in that faith. They believed in peace and love and doing good work and good deeds, but they were well-off and Zanzabar but when they moved to England when Freddy was 18, it was open season for Fred. He had never ever been exposed to such things and being 18 he was curios, as most people would. Freddie just wanted to love and be loved and he had that with Mary and Jim Hutton. His friends and caretakers and chef at his home or his friends and trustworthy as were his bandmates. They ever revealed his secrets!! Freddy would’ve come out about his age diagnosis earlier, but to do so would’ve made public liars out of everyone according to Peter freestone. Peter videos are awesome because he knows almost everything about Friday because he was his chef and met him when he was working with the Royal ballet. Peter even helped with the making of the movie. If you want to know more about the truth behind the rumors and the lies, Love an honest to God truth it’s Peter freestone. He is such a kind guy and I can see why he and Freddie were such good friends because Freddie was a gentle soul but a man of extremes. Freddie Mercury said that he was a man of extremes and that he was either very hard and serious, or he was a total baby, and there was no in between. Freddie did have his silly side as usual but at home he didn’t read or watch TV. He loved art, ballet and going to the opera. The other bandmembers didn’t care for that kind of stuff and that’s how he met Peter Freestone because Peter Freestone was handling the costumes for the Royal opera when Freddie went to perform with them. The other bandmembers enjoy doing different things and Freddie was into art because he studied graphic art and illustration in college.

This official video makes it look like it was about Freddie's life, not Brian's, and seems to be reminding us that his love with somebody resulted in his death. But Freddie sings every song with such passion and emotion, that we believe he is telling us HIS own personal story. The last scene in the video shows the statue of Freddie at Lake Geneva, Switzerland, erected in his honor. He had a home there on the lake and loved the peacefulness and beauty. The statue has his name, his dates of birth and death, and the caption, "Lover of Life, Singer of Songs."

I don't know if you have ever heard the song "let me in your heart again" They were recording it in 1988, they did several different takes of it because it was difficult at this time for Freddie to record it as written (because of his illness). They changed it several times to make it easier for him but in the end they gave up on it. Queen put all the takes together and came up with an awesome version of it and released it in 2014. Yes, this is great, but you MUST see the version sung by Brian May. He wrote it between marriages, and his heart was breaking with the problems he was dealing with. Please use the version where you see as well as hear the song. You just want to go up to Brian and give him a hug to comfort him. Such deep emotion in both voice and expression.It is VERY special.
Brian May actually wrote this song for himself because he was dating two women at the same time and they found out. But it just so happened that it fit Freddie Mercury story
Once again, we know Freddie was the best but please It's Queen. No Freddie without the other amazing just as talented John, Roger, and Brian.
