  • A carp fishing bait classic, the boilie. This quick and simple bait recipe will have you cranking out your own baits in no time. Made from supermarket ingredients, anyone can make these for very little money.
    Boilies have proven to be extremely effective in catching carp and other fresh water species like catfish. A lot of commercial versions contain artificial flavorings, but it only makes sense to use the real deal "ripe bananas" for creating a vitamin rich and high protein bait.
    Tweak or implement your existing bait today to truly create something unique to you! There is nothing better than out-fishing a lake or river on your own secret bait blend.

    Try garlic boiles and put some garlic into your bait, also if you get small carp like that add 2 18mm boiles on your hair rig.
    Tip: make sure your hooks are sharp and they hook the right way and not just slide.

    Great video, what should I put in the mixture so that I shouldn't put those boilies into the freezer?

    Can you replace the condensed milk with toffee syrup to make banoffee boilies instead of banana cream boilies?

    Hi the seed you use can you suggest a couple of alternatives to flax seed wanted to try the recipe

    • @curlytailfishing
      @curlytailfishing  3 роки тому +3

      Hey Darren, the flax seed is totally optional. I happened to have some on hand so I added it to my mix. You’ll see people add ground flax to their mix but a pretty common alternative that people use for that black speck inside the boilie is niger seeds. However, if you don’t feel like adding a bunch of extra ingredients to your mix I would recommend leaving out the flax seed completely and your boilies will still turn out fine.

    Do they float after you have boiled them and they have cooled down?

    • @curlytailfishing
      @curlytailfishing  2 роки тому

      These boilies sink. Perfect for freebies or ground baits. Adversely, if you microwave them with this same recipe they float.

      @@curlytailfishing So, if I microwave them instead of boil them they would float? But once I have boiled them they would sink even if I reheat them again in the microwave? I want them to float because it makes them more easily seen by the carp.

    • @curlytailfishing
      @curlytailfishing  2 роки тому +1

      Yep, you got it. The big thing with them is that egg makes them float. If you make this mix try to make it with a couple of eggs and you will get them to float exactly the same mix as you would by boiling them.

      @@curlytailfishing Sorry to bother you one more time buddy, but I want to get this as correctly as I can since I am very interested in making this recipe that you show us. If I were to add 5-6 eggs (If it requires more eggs please let me know) to the amount that you make on the video and I boil the dough balls afterward, would they float or sink? Or do the dough balls only float if I microwave them, even after adding eggs? I'm asking this because I think the boiling process would probably give me a better consistency for the dough balls and cook more evenly, but I would only boil them if they would float afterward. Thanks again for taking the time to answering these questions of mine, I truly appreciate it!

    • @curlytailfishing
      @curlytailfishing  2 роки тому +1

      Hey again! So what I would do is add 5-6 eggs and boil them. Boiling them creates the best consistency, in my opinion, because microwaving can cause inconsistencies in cooking temperature and it has caused me to burn the bottom of the boilies in the microwave. Make sure to do a trial run, if you pop them in the microwave before committing.
      If you boil them, they make outstanding bottom baits. Adversely, if you microwave them they float. Don’t make them too large or they wont float as well. I would recommend making them in the 12mm-16mm size range if you want them to float.
      Don’t be discouraged if they don’t turn out perfect the first time. It took me 3 times of making them before I was happy with them but just remember that the fish aren’t picky.
      Good luck and tight lines. Stay tuned because I will make some different videos similar to this one in the future but I hope this recipe works for you.

    Could you swap the banana for peaches

      You can use any kind of fruit. I also make boilies with fruit mixed in it. My basis mix(the dry stuff) is different though. With that you just have to experiment.
      My favorite fruits are, ofcourse banana, strawberries, oranges (peel the oranges, don't use the skin, it makes everything bitter !!), bilberries and mango.
