Definitely! Bass always run up the creeks early on in the year and after it rains so pay attention to the weather and you should be able to find you some!
Good ole game warden bringing some luck haha love and support all our frontline workers including DNR and Game Wardens! But blessed we don’t run into them to often at the same time LOL epic vlog man! Love it!
I spent most of my childhood fishing Rowlett creek! The spring white bass (or sandbass as I used to call them) was something I looked forward to every year.
Thanks man, took some work but it paid off in the end. I tried to scout them today at Joe Pool Lake and it’s still too early. Water was cold and the creek was empty.
The answer is YES! That is a great set up for white bass. That setup is actually the go-to-way many many fisherman that catch white bass. I use 1/4 oz jig heads in deep water and 1/8 oz jig heads in shallower water. One thing is for sure, you CAN’T go wrong with a little curly tail!
Not fully spawning yet. I would fish else where because you’ll be neck and neck with other fisherman fishing a creek that is low with bass that have not started spawning yet. We are coming out of two freezes and we haven’t had a good rain in a while. The fish will flood the creek when the conditions align so stay tuned I will create another video when the action gets a little better. I would hit the Brazos over the creek right now if I were you.
@@curlytailfishing I ended up going to rowlett creek and caught 2 decent white bass. I'm going back to the creek on Friday like at 5:50am and use minnows
Fun little spot! I was hoping the run would be on a little earlier but we also haven’t had a decent rain all year. We get a really good rain, I’m talking 3”-4”, it will be nice action. Still pretty hard locating them. Lots of people commenting on this vid who have recently been 🦨 ed here. Went to Joe Pool lake today and scouted out their creeks and got skunked. Water is still too cold and creek was empty.
I think what you are referring to is an incident that happened after a huge rain at the Rowlett Creek Waste Water Plant in 2019 where a huge piece of concrete got swept into an intake pipe after a heavy rain and caused waste water to back up into the creek. I don’t think that’s anything to worry about because that happened three years ago because of a heavy rain. Think it’s safe to say the creek has been flushed since then no pun intended and we haven’t had a good rain all year so catch ‘em and throw em back man, more fish for me lol
Its a popular spot! So are many other places like Denison Dam or Beavers Bend state park but that doesn’t mean you can’t go catch trout or striper there. If you don’t like seeing people you can also go on off times like early on during the day or on weekdays. I also don’t like to fish elbow to elbow either but I was the only person fishing at the creek (when I got there). I walked a mile or two and every spot I hit was empty. It’s not the best spot I agree, I actually drove out to Cedar Hill and fished the creeks at Joe Pool Saturday to get away from the hustle and bustle but they were completely empty. Almost wish I had gone to Rowlett Creek instead! It’s a good spot just crowded sometimes.
I parked at a bridge and walked about 3/10 mile along the bank and got a ticket from the Texas game warden for what he listed as “Fishing from Private w/o Consent” and yes this was a creek over 30ft wide and Navigatel by small boat etc, so why did I get a citation w/o a landowner complaintant? Shit on I think
@@curlytailfishing it was at County Road 4668 just off Hwy 730 in Boyd Texas, i’m trying to figure out how the game warden writes a citation for Fishing from private without consent of the landowner without the landowner filing a complaint or being the complaintant
@@curlytailfishing I’m thinking about contesting it I mean what if you got the same citation while you were walking down the bank fishing and they make you leave and tell you you can only fish underneath the bridge
Man all we need is some warm weather to roll in (this week is heating up) but also need rain. Without rain they aren’t going to run up the creeks. Just a waiting game! I’m sure I’ll run into you on the banks and until then tight lines!
I wonder how far up Rowlett Creek the sandies make it? Maybe Breckenridge Park in Richardson or Oak Point in Plano?
Just spotted your channel and realize it's 2022 video I'm new to the area where's the parking area
Do u think the white bass will be there the first week of march nation wide?

surprised, but glad to see the warden out there!
I liked and subscribed- Sandies are doing pretty good right now but I think in 2wks, It will be better
Love your video...plan to make that run next month.
How many oz is the jig head you’re using?

Nice video man! Keep it up
Thanks for the support. I really appreciate it. Have a good one!
I got towed from the same spot last year came back from fishing and truck got towed be careful there
I think after last year they started towing. I came back a week later to see a tow truck after the white bass run. Be warned folks!
Great job finding them

What test line are you using? Thank you
4lb Stren mono
Glad to find you fishing in Texas where I live. Subbed to watch your skills. Thanks for filming.
Thanks for the sub! I subbed right back at ya. Thanks for the support and take care!
Grate video!💯👍Them sandbass have moved in some creeks already. It's a hit and miss though. I subscribed to your channel! 👍
Will a Jighead with a white curly tail grub work for the white bass?

Are the Fish in Rowlett Creek Safe to Eat. Ive Heard the Water is Contaminated.
Hey boss is that on miller road I’m trying to go this weekend
Sorry just saw this. Did you end up getting out this weekend?

I know exactly where your at on the creek , but I have the benefit of years on you. The earliest we have found the run was about the 15 of February l

Let’s goooo 💥💥
That’s right buddy! Are you fishing the white bass spawn this year?
Cool video, very productive day of fishing there 🎣
Not a bad day. I was extremely lucky!
very fun fishing in your country sir
Thanks!
Lovely video Andy, makes me hungry 😋 😀
Thanks bro! When the action heats up and gets a little better let’s hit the bank together. You down?

Damn how much did you walk lol
The video doesn’t even do it justice! Probably a mile or two. I didn’t even edit in the walking that I did in this video.
Thanks to all the game wardens out there, y’all some real ones ✊🏻
Rowlett creek its connected to the sewage water near 66 and Centerville? 😆 not sure if I'm going to eat the fish there..
