Have you thought about making a video of beach communities that are not tourist-y? I would love to see that.
I would say that the coastline towns near los mochis has the least tourists, sadly there’s still a lot of tourists, you could always go to el sabino a bit north west of el fuerte, while not a beach the lake mostly only has locals

I have so enjoyed watching several of your videos this evening. My husband and I lived in Ajijic on Lake Chapala for two years. Though we loved it, we missed our family and returned to the US. Now I'm pining away to get back to Mexico.

@@cristinasnapp4204 don't be afraid to try new things. First thing I would do is go for a long walk down stone Island or Isla de pedra ( I am close on the spelling) and stop off for lunch. My wife loves letys restaurant. Next go the historic center and stop by esntis Cafe for a latte and carrot cake!

@@achebrasil5063 I feel safe there as so my wife. It is a large city so I would do what you would in a large city. It is a very family oriented city with lots of children. I here it's a good place to have a family.
Ensenada is my favorite all-around city! Lots and lots to do and amazing food!

I’ve never been there in the winter but they could get rain snow mix. You need a heater at night but I think it warms up in the day.
Baja California. BAHIA DE LOS ANGELES is an enchanting fishermen village with a small community of Americans. The nature there is breathtaking.
Yes! You have to go to Aguascalientes, life quality is really good, it’s affordable, clean, safe, you will love my city! 🎉

This is a wonderful video. Just as a head's up, Lake Chapala is surrounded by big fruit corps like Dole and Driscolls. They bought out the local farmers and put in monocrops. The pollution of the ground water is so severe that in a nearby village, 60% of the children are in liver failure. In addition, it's 5000+ high, which doesn't work for some people. We lived their for several months, but the altitude plus the hideous traffic were too much for us.
If I had a choice I would live in Oaxaca because I love the culture and the food (Mole) especially the country side.

@@mikhailbashni8936 Tepoztlán, Morelos. It is touristic but just the weekends and still it's a pretty calm town.

The best from this list: Small town: Sayulita. Cities: Mazatlan and Merida (In fact lovely mid-size cities.)
All it took was a pandemic to shove a #1 out of the top 10. Lol. I'm only teasing! I am looking to possibly move to Mexico within about 6 or 7 years. Learning Spanish now. There are just SO many beautiful places that I want to visit there first that it's difficult to even narrow down a list. Videos like this one are helpful, so thank you!

Mazatlán is awesome! Yea PDC isn’t really my favorite either but the beaches there are pretty special so I do understand the draw!

I've been to Mexico 9 times and Merida is by far my favorite! Best Centro ever!!!
But they say it is up to 110 degrees April and May in Merida; and the mosquitoes always biting you and carry dengue? What was your experience like?

I'm moving down in a couple of weeks and am landing in Merida to start with. I'll have my Bernese Mountain Dog with me. Can you recommend somewhere with cooler temps and low humidity?

Merida is gorgeous and luckily this time of the year it’s not too hot or humid, but Summer is a killer 🤭 to be honest we haven’t done a lot of exploring outside of the Yucatán peninsula, however the more central Cities like Guadalajara would definitely have cooler, less humid conditions 😃 and Bernese mountains dogs (aside from our little guy 🐶) are my favorite favorite breed of dogs 😍 good luck with the move 🇲🇽
@@ForTheRoadTravels we are coming from Mississippi so we are used to hot and humid weather. He's my service dog and yes they're an AMAZING breed! I keep his hair trimmed bcuz of our climate even though he's strictly an inside dog. I definitely want to get into a higher elevation when the weather warms up.

@Skwei Thiu I just drove back. No restrictions to speak of. The checkpoints just want to know where you’re going and where you’ve been. Don’t bring any illegal drugs. Pot isn’t legal in Mexico yet..
Thanks for sharing your insights on Mexico. I could argue all day about which regions and cities of Mexico are the best. I agree 100% with you about Merida. We had an amazing(and sweltering) two weeks there in 2019 - the music scene (cumbia and salsa) is the best - especially if, like me, you like to dance at happy hour (cantinas) rather than late night. I do not agree about Sayulita - I think I commented about this before - you might not like it in a normal high season. There are too many obnoxious northerners there and the water is suspiciously murky (as it is in Puerto Vallarta). In contrast, the water along the Oaxacan coast is beautiful. I am surprised you haven't included Puerto Escondido or Zipolite on your list. That coast is my perfect area: warm water, mountains, authentic food and culture, international travelers and even hipsters. Finally, every time you mention the Copper Canyon I want to go (and I will, when you know what is controlled). If you liked Chihuahua - you should come to British Columbia in the summer. Endless wilderness - rainforest, desert, canyons, alpine = and lots of space.
I LOVE Puerto Escondido, but it feels so remote. I dunno, for me it's a great place to vacation, but amenities-wise, it is lacking what most of the other places on this list have that make it feel like somewhere I could live for a while. I can totally understand your sentiments on Sayulita. I'm sort of afraid to go back in case my initial trip there is spoiled in my mind haha, but it was my first real trip of the year and it just felt like utter paradise, and of course, it was almost dead - there were hardly any tourists there at all, so I would probably only go back to live there for a few months during the low season. Also - YES, get yourself to Copper Canyon. It's amazing.

My whole family lives there and they don't have any problems, thank God. I really believes that the news blames Acapulco even if the crimes don't happen there. Acapulco is like any other big city or port, but nothing like the news say.

Mazunte, up the coast from Huatulco. We were there a few years ago. Great relaxed vibe, very cool alternative beach culture, good swimming. Also lots of fun during the Jazz Festival.

What are your outdoor activities you like, what is the average 2 bedroom place cost, do you have a car down there, what are some things you DON'T do, what is the beach sand like, what is the average water temp like? can you safely swim.

I visited Chihuahua in November 2021. Amazing people, good food and nice city. I stayed in a hotel that had its own car garage for $55. I replaced all four tires with a Mexican brand before driving back to South Dakota.

Love your videos! Hoping to move with my husband and child to Mexico City in maybe six years! Anyways, if you’ve never been to Tepoztlan, you should go! Not sure it is “livable” but it’s def one of the most magical places I have been to in Mexico.
Mexico city is the worst place you can go live when you have children.My aunt lives in MC and tells me all the time about how there always trying to kidnap kids. The crime rate is sooooo high
I live in Guanajato, have lived here for over two years, it is just as safe as most of Mexico. I have traveled throughout Mexico for many years, lived in Puerto Vallarta, Punta Banda, etc. I have also lived in San Miguel. Guanajato is more authentic Mexico, the people here are very friendly. I have a friend who recently rented an almost new studio apartment, bedroom upstairs, includes Wifi & Cable, safe street parking on a dead end street for $ 275.00. You can’t find a better deal in Guanajato. The tourists here are mostly from Mexico. There is so much mis information out there, I could write a book.

Visited Lake Chapala a few years back and did not at all see the draw + found the lake to be really dirty and undesirable :-( but guess I'm in the minority considering how populated it is! Chihuahua is frozen and it snows in winter, you should visit Xalapa and Coatepec where there is the best coffee in Mexico, and finally the best city in the State of Veracruz which is Orizaba. Tangerine Travel vloggers visited and loved it.

I really don’t know why Xalapa isn’t talked about more. It may be that it’s wetter than the rest of Mexico, but that makes it so green. And the college town vibe is nice.

I LOVED Muleje, (on the Baja, by Bajia Concepcion). I traveled Mexico quite a bit and another place I lived for a few months was Isla Mujeres, (may not be as small town sweet as it was in the 90's when I lived there. Talk about fun!..Large Palapa by the beach/dancing and then run and jump into the ocean when you get too hot dancing the salsa, (margaritas pair well with Salsa dancing).
I discovered Teziutlan, Puebla. It’s a small city with all the amenities, but feels town like and is greeeeen. In the middle of a rainforest and 1.5 hours away from Puebla, Xalapa and the beach

Need to visit Mazatlan!!! Agree with many of your choices. Loved Queretaro and the stunning Copper Canyon. Enjoyed our stays in Oaxaca, Merida, Guadalajara and Sayulita. Yes, Lago Chapala was pretty as well as Ajijic (if you have not been). San Miguel de Allende is nice but too many expats. If you have not been, Morelia is highly recommended. Enjoy your blogs. Keep them coming! I want to go to Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, next year. Happy Travels

We saw a jaguar on our drive from PV to Manzanillo. Fantastic "canopied" drive. Jungle almost all the way.
The road and all of the beaches between PV and Manzanillo are stunning - one of my favorite coastlines in the country! So cool that you saw a jaguar!
@@laura-bronner I'm with you on that coastline... It's stunning. The places where the trees connect above you from both sides of the road remind me of two other places with canopy tree tunnels... Singapore and Axtla, La Huasteca Potosina in SLP state. When I lived in England there were hundreds of places like that out in the country, but that was many moons ago.
On that road and a truck in front of us is hauling a combine, he was taking off the limbs of the trees, came flying all over the road at about 50 kph. We bought a toyota van and spent two traveling in Mexico! saw lots of crazy stuff but loved it!

San Miguel is not necessarily more expensive. I rent a new studio apartment in a nice neighborhood including cable TV & internet for $ 275.00 monthly. I have lived in Ensenada, Guanajato, Puerto Vallarta, San Miguel, over the last 5 years. Each area has its good & bad, the cost of living is about the same in each one of these towns, you need to be there to find bargains, don’t believe everything you read. Get to know a few locals before making a long term commitment.

I'm new here, but if you haven't gone to Aguascalientes, it's very underrated. The weather is perfect. According to my Google search, it's one of the major cities with the lowest cost of living. It was clean. The museums were amazing.
Yep, I'd call it the merida of central mexico. Very calm, very safe, very clean, cheap, both have a bit over a million population so not big but not small, unlike merida aguascalientes is not burning hot, but it doesn't have a nearby beach either. Both are fantastic cities for calm life here in Mexico.

The magic on that place is you have no road, you can get it only by boat!
Whe took a little boat on the beach (at the last hotel on the road )!
Most American artist was establish over there, restaurants on the beach, jungle, little little village on the mountain, houses in the jungle.... just wow, amasing souvenirs!🥰

Another great video! I would say that Guanajuato City is not where the violence is. Most of that is in cities to the south in Guanajuato State like Irapuato and Celaya. They are both on major highways the cartels use. But the news always just says Guanajuato so the city gets some of that blowback. Many affluent Mexican families send their kids to the prestigious liberal arts University of Guanajuato, so it tends to be well policed. Personally, I would rather live in Guanajuato City for affordability and liveliness and take the bus to SMA an hour away for weekends and day trips. Have a great 2021!.

@@nasirb3914 well... People tend to say that bad things just happen to the people in bad steps. But the truth is that in Mexico it is a matter of luck. You can live here years and hopefully never happens to you in years. Or just arrive in a short trip and get a bad experience. The reality is that Guanajuato in general is not a safe place right now. It is not to alarm but just lets face reality and be counscious that's all. It's sad and besides covid is out of control 😔

@@aquetzallijurado450 Zihua is a small community with no good shopping. Have to go to Morelia or Acapulco...4 + hours. It’s charming, reasonable and pretty. Small fishing village. Lots of expats during the high season. Few during the off season.
Ixtapa was designed for expats so doesn’t have the Mexico flavor like Zihua. Beautiful beach but watch the under currents. Ixtapa Island is a fun place to spend the day. Must take a water ferry. I lived in both places.

Ya que ellos conocen las diferencias entre los corredores turisticos establecidos para extranjeros y los corredores turisticos para nacionales. la diferencia es clima,cultura y precios. Los Mexicanos saben alejarse de las trampas turisticas que solo conocen los extranjeros. Por ejemplo. Acapulco fue el cancun de hace 3 decadas. Hoy los extranjeros no van por miedo. Pero los Mexicanos si. la diferencia es que acapulco sigue teniendo la misma infraestructura poderosa y las mismas playas hermosas que Cancun y la riviera. apenas estan madurando. Todo. Por la mitad del precio. Cual es el truco? Conocer Mexicanos que conocen Mexico. Sobre todo familias

@@marcosreal11 No. Ahora vivo en el extranjero. Pero quiero ir a mexico a poner un negocio de guias de turistas. (en sociedad con alguna agencia turistica del extranjero)Especialmente para extranjeros que quieran conocer lugares con paisanos mexicanos. Incluso llevarlos a fiestas de bodas , quince o patronales. Algo fuera de las trampas turisticas. Pero pagarles a los festejados de las fiestas o familias que los alojen y no a las mafias hoteleras. Algo que sea unico.
Esta idea se hace en africa y asia. para conocer los mitos y misterios de comunidades increibles. Es un tour de aventuras. No solo de playas y hotel. saludos

De que infraestructura poderosa hablas? Acapulco está quebrado por el narco y solo la gente de clase baja o media va a Acapulco. Desde hace más de una década acapulco no tiene ni un solo hotel categoría gran turismo, y está de decadencia. Todo lo contrario a cancun o playa del carmen.

However, not everyone is you. Some people would like more or something different, and rather than NOT watching any of her future videos, we make suggestions. I might want to see some videos that focus on small towns or focus on areas in the mountains...but I get the impression you will slam me for asking for that.

Very informative. Interesting how you included Chihuahua. The copper canyon area is a gem location that a surprising number of people still don't know about. I am also enamored with "Loreto" on the Sea of Cortez in Baja Cal. Sur. Have you reviewed that location in addition to La Paz?
Not yet! Hoping to get to La Paz in the coming months now that I’m on the peninsula for a while!
I know these towns and don't like Sayulita due to overcrowding, but I love the overall area. It's actually often cheaper in Puerto Vallarta - I always have my car for day trips.
I like several cities in Mexico, but Zacatecas was the best experience so far.

I’m looking at moving to Mexico in late 2021 with my dog and in the process of getting my temp or hopefully perm visa so I can open an office there and hire sales reps for my US company. Love your videos, so helpful but made me more confused as to where to move. LOL.

Hi, I only just saw this. Not sure if you've ever been to Zihuatenejo, on the Pacific Coast? Definitely one to check out. I loved it there but not on the days when the cruise ships were in town 😉
Other places which are really beautiful are Campeche and Bacalar, both in the Yucatan. If, like me, you are into archaeology, visit the dmazing Calakmul biosphere, accessible from Chetumal or Campeche. And, of course, Palenque is stunning. As is Chiapas and it's jewel in the crown- San Cristobal.
Chetumal, on the border with Belize, is great to visit for carnival. There's a stunning beach town just to the South called Calderitas. You could combine it with a trip to Belize, which is great and a totally different vibe to Mexico. More like Jamaica!!

I just discovered your channel and I really enjoy it! Especially videos like this. I'm not considering moving to Mexico (yet) but would like to escape the US for 7-10 days if I can during the winter. I live in a cold area of the US.
How do I tell if a place in Mexico is very restricted due to Covid or very open? I know there is a Green, Yellow, Red color codes but that seems to change. I'd hate to fly somewhere, only for it to be shutdown. I guess that's the risk on a short trip.

Just got back from Puerto Vallarta, our first time. It was amazing, will go back again when this pandemic is over. We'd like to stay in a condo and for longer than 10 days. Lovely video!

A place that I’m looking to spend next winter is Pátzcuaro on Lago de Pátzcuaro, near Morelia. At ~6000 feet, it’s another climate of eternal spring. Just in case you’re looking for new places!
