I've found a few versions of "Scotland The Brave" on UA-cam, and I've noticed that some of them have different lyrics from the one heard here. Can you explain this? What were the original lyrics?

Scotlands original language was Pictish and Cambric, what came first is unknown by historians in all fairness The third would be the Scot’s language that was created by Anglo-Saxon settlers primarily from Friesland (Germany and Netherlands) Then Gaelic which came from Gaelic invaders from Ulster Your knowledge of Scottish history is flawed mate

Unfortunately we aren’t represented equally in British parliament and our voice is constantly undermined by the interest of non-elected English aristocrat-politicans who have dominated British politics for decades. If we were given federalism like we’ve been promised so many times then the independence movement would no longer exist.
@@maxthescotsman869 Confederation is always the answer. A true confederation that can unite to other countries or secede depending of the needs of the population. This way the english must seduce you to stay at their side and if they do something stupid you could seced and keep your way.
The song should be played as the anthem of Scotland at world cups and stuff, and with bagpipes. I've read, that it's sometimes considered as the anthem, along with a few other patriotic songs.

The fist union between them was completed by King James VI (A scottish king who later came to power in England and decided to unite the countries as one). So NO the union was not proposed by England, it was Scotland. England were the ones to start the empire before the unification of both countries and when they joined together in the union that's when the empire went from being English to British

'Scotland the Brave' is a marching tune. This is just one example of lyrics being put to it. I believe this is the first version but there is others.
